sypherce
Attached below is a test version of DS2Key. This version is similar to 0.3 except I've used the wifi_lib version 0.3 which means it has DHCP, WEP, etc. Hopefully in a day or two I get a test version of the server made, I'll update here until I'm ready to release a completed version. For now, those of you that want to test, please tell me of your troubles getting this version to work. Tell me if anything is working better or worse then in previous versions. Also feel free to contact me privately. Edit: I finished a pc server similar to the 0.11 (its console based), except it has mouse support. Edit #2: Added support for multiple DS Clients for one Server. Depends on profiles, which are named DS2Key.p#.ini, and the port # is stored in DS2Key.ini. Since everything is in a.ini file you don't need to run the.bat file, just the.exe. ds2keyBeta1.zip ds2keyBeta2.zipds2key0.5b3.zip Note:If anyone would like to make a external GUI for the pc side, preferably in perl, please contact me (Nxg, would you be able to?) idler
I did a quick run of Beta 1 with VBA and it ran great. I use WEP on my network and it didn't slow it down at all. I used my Nintendo WFC settings and it accessed the DHCP server just fine. The only problem i found was that it would load up the IP of the DS into the client software instead of the host PC, but I'd assume that this was planned. I'll try beta 2 if i can figure out how to get the bat and exe going. Thanks for the update!
sypherce
Just making sure everyone notices the new beta. knux896
I seem to be having a bit of a problem getting this to work. When I have my ds set to use the Official USB adapter and the official drivers, DS2Key will run but I can't connect to my computer. If I use the unofficial settings involving a SoftAP, the program freezes at the message "Waiting for ARM7 to init.." during boot-up. Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix it? I would appreciate any help/advice received. Edited July 16, 2006 by knux896

With my Supercard CF I've gotten that freeze only when first turning on DS2Key, but loading the wrong format. Supercard's require homebrew to use the .ds.gba renamed to .nds... knux896
I am using the Max Media Dock. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the device though because it boots if my ds is set to use the official nintendo adapter, but not when it's set for an access point. Scatropolis
If anyone would like to make a external GUI for the pc side, preferably in perl, please contact me (Nxg, would you be able to?)<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd like to work on it, but I don't know perl. I'd be writing it in C#. Even if it's not the official GUI I'm still interested. Could you put something together about the communication between the client/server? Thanks. phlanx
Superb job! I haven't had a problem with it on my regular computer using WEP and a Phat DS w/ flashme+GBAMP or DS Lite w/ passcard3+M3CF. I also ran 2 instances on my computer with seperate ports, one acting as mouse, the other as gamepad and worked flawlessly. One suggestion though, on the PC exe, it would be nice if we could have a minimise to taskbar button or minimise to Taskbar on startup option (cause on my media center computer, it freezes the window if you try to close it with the DS... ) I mainly use it for SNES emulation on the media center, or to control the mouse for updates so I don't have ungodly amounts of wires coming out of it. I can't stress how awesome you are. Edited July 19, 2006 by phlanx
strongesthylian
Works great. Even with two DSs. I noticed that the mouse code is completely different, but it moves the mouse according to the position on the touch screen. Is it possible to make the mouse function like a laptop touch pad? There's also lag when using mouse and buttons at the same time. I figured out why my DS kept disconnecting, it's because I was using DSOrganize to boot DS2key. I've notified the author of DSOrganize about the little bug.http://youngmx.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=281 Can't wait for the GUI version, as editing INI files for the control is annoying. But this is only a beta...
