School + girlfriend + laziness = no 1emu for me for a loooong time When school started up, my life got all filled with stuff do do, which I was not at all prepared for. Thus, interwebs stuff took a back seat to my new found real life. Now, what with exam week fast approaching, I still won't have much time for 1emu, but I'll try to pop in now and then. Oh, and RIP IRC... I knew it was dying for a long time now... but still... it's like losing muh bestest frind Anyway, I've just recently been
The Blackest Ov The Black tour came to The Rave here in Milwaukee last night. I knew it was gonna be a good night when I took a big bag of pocket change I'd accumulated over a year or two to the bank and discovered it was worth $24, thus paying for my ticket to the concert. First up: Winds of Plague - Generic deathcore. Move along, nothing to see here. Next was Moonspell - Pretty decent black/doom metal. Guitars and drums sounded awesome, but the vocalist could use a little work. No show:

BUT THERE'S THIS GIRL AND I WANT TO ASK HER OUT AND I FINALLY HAVE SOMETHING THAT RESEMBLES A SOCIAL LIFE AND FINALS ARE COMING UP AND I NEED TO DO WELL ON THEM AND I'M FINALLY GETTING SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING IN SHAPE AND BLAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH. My PC has undergone quite a few updates since I built it around a year ago that I haven't blog'd, so I just thought I'd post 'em here. 400W PSU -> 600W PSU (WITH BLUE flockING NEON!!! Also: modular) 2GB PC2-6400 RAM -> 4GB PC2-6400 RAM 1 x 250GB HD -> 2 x 250GB HD (New HD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA 3.0GB/s 7200RPM) PowerColor Radeon X1600 PRO -> MSI RX2600XT Diamond Plus (512MB 128bit GDDR4) Netgear Wireless b/g PCI adapter -> Linksys Wireless-G PCI adapter with Speedbooster
So I've taken it upon myself to learn Lua, a "lightweight yet powerful" programming language. Thought it would be a good idea because: 1. It looked easy 2. It has been ported to the PSP and the DS 3. It can be used in conjunction with C++, of which I know a (very, very) little bit 4. ???????? So yeah. Reading some tutorials for Lua on the PSP. Hopefully I'll be churning out my own games 'n' apps within a few months. We'll see.
Got mah 17th b-day coming up on April 10th. Big plans. BIG plans. Sorta. First, on Sunday April 6th, I'm going to see Behemoth (currently one of my favorite bands) and Dimmu Borgir play at The Rave with some friends (tickets are b-day presents from the parental units). One of the opening bands, Burial Ritual, is a local band I've seen before, so I know for sure there'll be lots of brutal music to be heard and hopefully pits up the wazoo. Good times are guaranteed, as well as a sore neck. The
Strange thing, though. Since I've been out of the habit of visiting 1emu, the appeal of the forum has become all but dead to me. Not sure what will come of this. I'll still be active on IRC, though. Stop in and say hi.
Going to see Marilyn Manson on February 7th with one friend and our dads, both of them over 45, none of them metal listeners. I should bring a video camera to get their reactions to Manson's music. Oh, and winter break starts tomorrow.
On the way up to my friend's cabin for our four day weekend I had my first experience of being in a car crash. We were traveling down the highway at about 60 mph in silence brought on by the gloomy weather. The three of us in the back seat (the suv we were in had two seats in the front, three in back, and a storage area behind the seats) were either asleep or very close to it. Unfortunately, so was the driver. He dozed off, causing the car to drift across the left lane and off the side of the
Yeah. Going through a bit of a depression right now. Hate myself, hate my friends. I'll probably get over it soon, but right now I feel like my soul has been crushed.
I have mixed feelings about school starting up again. Mostly good ones, though, which surprises me. Since I pretty much spent the summer being a slug, I'm looking forward to having something to do during the day. Also, my friends were doing a whole lot of traveling, so I didn't see them very often. It'll be cool to see some of them again, after briefly chatting at class registration. Oh man... registration... a pain in a few ways. First, a few days (read: two) before registration, I received
After going through 2 crappy soldering irons, I attempted to install a PSP-Devolution modchip into my PSP in order to revive it. Guess what. I flocked it up. Royally. Without realizing it, I melted a few parts on the PSP's mobo. So yeah. WHO WANTS TO BUY SOME PSP PARTS? Look at my content blocks over yonder ->
Big plans, busy busy busy... Tomorrow (Thursday), I'm going to be heading over to Sleepy Eye, Minnesota for a cousin's wedding. I'll be coming back on Saturday (I think), but then I'm leaving again for a software/hardware engineering camp on Sunday. I will be there till next Friday. Try not to miss me too much. Oh yeah, I updated those content block thingies. Now one of them has stuff for sale/stuff I want to buy. Check them out. Over there -->
About a week ago I took a test at Driver's Ed to get my permit. A few days ago I went to get my permit. And today... I drove. At first I was just driving around in an empty parking lot, doing things like going forward, reverse, speeding up, braking, turning, and parking. Then I went into a residential area, where only one person passed me, and I didn't cause any collisions. I did not hit any other cars, I did not hit any pedestrians, I did not cause any accidents, and I only went up on the cur
Girls are the most tricksy and mysterious beings on the planet. I swaer, if I could reproduce asexually, I would never have to deal with another devious female... So there's this girl I like. She recently hooked up with another guy. He's a year older than we are. She's in my math class. We usually are in the same group when doing math exercises. She smiles at me a lot, and laughs at all of my jokes. Today, while working in a group on a math worksheet, she reached over to my paper and started w
