Sony released their latest firmware for the PSP today, 3.02. Here's what Sony says is new:

* Game

o PLAYSTATION®Network titles are now supported.

PLAYSTATION®Network titles* can now be downloaded via the PLAYSTATION®3 system.

* The term "PLAYSTATION®Network titles" refers to PlayStation format software (PS one games) downloaded from PLAYSTATION®Store and PSP format games distributed electronically. Note that when playing on a PSP® system, system software version 3.01 or later is required.

* Network

o [Remote Play] has been added as a feature.

o [Online Instruction Manuals] has been added as a feature.

o [set Timer] has been added as a feature under [RSS Channel].

* Music

o [Visual Player] has been added as a feature.

o Three-speed fast forward and fast reverse has been added as a feature under [Music].

* Photo

o [Camera] has been added as a feature.

* Settings

o [uMD™ Auto-Start] has been added as a feature under [system Settings].

* Other

o New for 3.02: A security patch has been added to address security vulnerabilities in the system software.

Also, this firmware has been confirmed to be fully emulated by DevHook v0.51

REMEMBER: Updating your PSP will make it so that you CANNOT run homebrew! If you still want to use homebrew, DO NOT UPGRADE!

05-DEC-2006: Bug fix for welcome screen

 

Hi!

The recently released version (0.1.b6) introduced a weird layout bug for the new welcome screen, which caused the OK and CANCEL buttons not to show up. You weren't able to proceed... sorry about that ! The following code-snapshot of my current development tree includes a fix for this.

NDS version 2.1 available.

You must download it to play online with your NDS.

It fixes the same bug found on the windows version.

This will improve the wifi game.

For sure, it's 100% compatible with the windows version.

Instructions:

 

With devhook 0.45 for 2.71, emulate 1.50 and use psardumper to extract the firmware/s you want (remember that from 2.80 and greater this is specific to each psp so you can't just download a prepared dump).

 

The rest of the instructions are the same that for 1.50.

 

Note: it won't work with hen-c because it uses some functions from hen-d.

It has also been reported that this will work on PSPs with the TA-082 motherboard.
