    vbSMS+ v2.0 Released

    olaf
    By olaf,

After a little bit of work between brom and I on vbSMS+, I've decided we've done enough work for another release. Now that brom is back working on his/this project, changes made by him/I will be marked as appropriate. Below are the changes in version 2.0 of my Sega Mark III/Master System/Game Gear emulator.

    - added in sprite collision detection (uncommented portions of vbsms source code) [brom]

    - added in sprite limit toggling (uncommented portions of vbsms source code) [brom/olaf]

    - added missing z80 i/o port mirrors for all supported z80 i/o ports [olaf]

    - added header awareness, it will skip and load roms correctly now (recheck roms previously not working) [brom/olaf]

    - added a vdp interrupt hack to get "spider-man - return of the sinister six" working [brom]

    - added in crc32 checking of files for game specific "patches" (10 total -- as done with meka.pat) [olaf]

    - added a memory editor with search/state functionality [olaf]

    - added in support for the sega master system's pause button [olaf]

    - added a fix for timing via an initialization routine [brom]

    - added support for zip compressed rom files [olaf]

    - changed the "configure input" window a little [olaf]

    - changed game gear input detection a little, put it into the case (where it belongs) [olaf]

    - changed input detection again [olaf]

    - changed the version scheme x.x versus x.x.x (version 0.1.1's successor is 2.0) [olaf]

    - removed the grayscale palette/palette switching [olaf]

It is recommended you reconfigure your inputs before playing, shared mapping may have occurred with the addition of support for the Sega Master System's Pause button. It is also recommended that you audit your ROMs with Maxim's SMS Checker.

    Gens32 Surreal v1.72 released

    Robert
    By Robert,

    Genesis emulator

    Gens32 Surreal v1.72

    1) Update 24bit and 32bit playback stuff. Note, that Gens32 surreal never really supported 24bits or 32bits playback, even this version. It just use a method to "emulate" them in 16bits.

    2) Add 172000HZ sound rate playback, that can fix some sound bugs under 192000HZ.

    3) Add a option which can force to use software update sound. This may fix some problems.

    4) Rewrite and add some render plugin. I wanna emulate really TV, but it's long way ahead. These things are WIP stuffs.

    5) New roms supported. But the keyboard stuff still not fully emulated.

    6) New background.

    Ootake 0.80 released

    Robert
    By Robert,

    TG16/PCE emulator

    2006/11/11 0.80 released

    - The load of the "CD-ROM access" processing was lightened. As a result, in a CD-ROM drive environment not fast, the problem with "The noise enters BGM of a built-in sound source when CD-ROM was accessed" was solved.

    - Processing related to interrupt was modeled on a real machine more. As a result, "Lemmings" came to operate. I think the operation timing of other software has approached a real machine, too.

    - "Swap I&II" was added to "Input" menu. (For "Lemmings" with the mouse)

    - If "7" key (It is not ten keyboard) is pushed, "Swap SEL&RUN" ("SELECT" button is replaced with "RUN" button) is executed. Use it when you connect 3-button pad.

    - When "Music CD player" built into "System Card" was played, the bug that had been occasionally freezed when all tune performance was completed was corrected. And, when "Ootake" was paused while performing music, the bug of which the error margin went out to the display at the elapsed time was corrected.

    - The volume balance of CD-DA sound source and a built-in sound source was modeled on real machine more.
