    emulation number 9 reports that eSCV, the Japanese open source EPOCH Super Cassette Vision emulator for Microsoft Windows, has been updated today. Below is a quotation of the post made at its official homepage (translated).

    SquidgeSNES v0.33 Released

    retroguru.com reports that SquidgeSNES, the Super NES emulator for GP2x, has been updated to version 0.33. Below are the changes in this version

     

    - Made the non-scaled mode a little prettier - it’s now centered and you can use a background image

    - You can now using the L/R buttons to scroll the file selector faster

    - Filenames are now sorted

    Reip's MAME WIP News

    Emu#dreams reports that Reip and Mike Coates have been working on adding new hardware support to MAME, the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. This time they're tackling Thunder Hoop, a 1992 Gaelco game. Below is what Reip posted on his official MAME WIP homepage.

    It's actually working, it crashed because sound rom banking was broken and I didn' test it when I fixed it :P

    This is not really my wip, but it's a wip from Mike Coates, who extracted the decryption table,

    but he asked me to fix the graphics issues.

    It's not yet playable because it crashes when you're going to start a game.

    VICE v1.19 Released

    Emu#dreams reports that VICE, the multiplatform open source Commodore 64 (as well as the C128, VIC20, most PET models, PLUS4, and the CBM-II) emulator, has been updated to version 1.19. Below are the changes in this version.

     

    General

    - Fixed "RESTORE key works only once" bug.

    - Fixed compilation with GCC4.

     

    C64 changes

    - Fixed an opcode execute problem with the +60k expansion.

    - New c64 256k expansion support.

     

    VIC-II

    - Fixed switch from idle state to display state.

    - Added missing DEN bit scrolling feature.

     

    Unix changes

    - The experimental netplay feature has been extended to the Unix platforms for testing.

    - Added IPV6 support to netplay.

    - Fixed crash if settings are saved.

    - Fixed some Gnome1 annoyances (popup menus in status bar)

    - Rework of gnome save media (screenshot) dialog

    - Xaw Statusbar fixes and improvements (new buttons for recording).

    - An experimental patch for Gnome2/Gtk2 support is available (See website). Vice-1.19 will be the last Gnome1/Gtk1 version officially supported. The Gnome2/Gtk2 version is known to work on state-of-the-art Linux distributions (e.g. Fedora Core 4). See also src/arch/unix/x11/gnome/TODO

     

    MS-Windows changes

    - Added "always on top" option.

     

    MS-DOS changes

    - The experimental netplay feature has been extended to MS-DOS for testing.

    - Made the tape routines able to cope with non-standard header sizes.
