PSP Slim & Lite Custom Firmware 3.60 M33 Released!

    BlackKnight
    By BlackKnight,

M33 hasn't wasted any time releasing 3.60 M33, a Custom Firmware for the brand new PSP Slim & Lite!

We are proud to present the first custom firmware for the PSP Slim, and the first custom firmware that runs using a 3.XX IPL (3.60).

3.60 M33 for PSP Slim has all the features of 3.52 M33, except the 1.50 kernel support, as that kernel doesn't work properly on psp slim (hardware problems, screen problems). 3.60 M33 will load homebrew from GAME, GAME150 and GAME360 directories, but all will be executed with 3.60 kernel.

This mean that some homebrews done specifically for the 1.50 kernel cannot work on 3.60 M33. However, the adaptation of code to 2.XX+ kernels is not difficult, and homebrew developers can port their aplications to work in these firmwares.

So far this release has been given a clean bill of health over at a couple of forums. Still remember that the new machine may be unpredictable, and there has always been a risk of BRICKING your PSP in the past with Custom Firmwares, so be careful. Remember also that the brick-reviving Pandora battery will not save your Slim & Lite if anything goes wrong. Anyway, cheers again to Team M33! Great work in record time.

    PSP Firmware 3.11 Upgrader/Downgrader released

    Mooney
    By Mooney,
At last! We promised a solution to help people trapped on firmware v3.11 by Sony's dirty tricks, and here it is.

As you may know, if you have a TA-082/TA-086 motherboard , then if you downgraded your PSP to v1.50, its idstorage keys will have been patched during downgrading to avoid bricking. The latest official Sony firmwares (3.30 onwards) detect this patch, and refuse to allow you to upgrade. Without a hardware solution, this can leave you trapped on v3.11 firmware, with no way to upgrade, and no way to downgrade.

This release consists of HEN for v3.11, plus a v3.11 downgrader, and an idstorage key fixer for v3.11. This allows you the choice of either

    1. staying on v3.11 to run homebrew

    2. downgrading to v1.50 to run homebrew or install custom firmwares, or

    3. upgrading to official Sony firmwares v3.30 or beyond.

Note that you will require an unpatched Lumines to use this, in common with all other homebrew exploits for v3.10-v3.50 firmwares.

Full instructions are in the README.TXT file, and you can also get support via the Noobz downgrader support forums.

    Comic Book DS v3.0 released

    Mooney
    By Mooney,
    # 3.0 (09/09/2007):

    * New: WIFI mode created. The books from http://cbds.free.fr/ can be consulted directly on the DS thanks to the WIFI connexion.

(The next big images are downloaded in background while viewing the current ones).

    * New: New look of the different screens (many thanks to FA for this nice design)

    * New: Theme support: Sounds, Colors, Backgrounds, Icons and Sprites can be changed. All the theme content is placed in the "/cbds/Theme" folder.

    * New: Quicker file scan (new restriction : all .cbds, .ini and theme files must be placed in the "cbds" root folder. Sub-folders are still handled).

    * New: Improved change page trigger (using the one key navigation feature) : instead of an exact page side match, an average is used (1/3 of the visible area by default), to trigger or not a page change.

    * New: Display of a notification icon before a page change. A second key press is then now necessary (this feature can be deactivated in .ini file).

    * New: More configuration available in ini file (avoid blinking, initial brightness, scrollincrementX,scrollincrementY,start key configurable ...).

    * New: Slightly better reactivity , preempting and error handling. Small bug fixes and improvements.
