    Mame Player 1.7.0 released

    Robert
    By Robert,

    Front End

    1.7.0

    - Added: 'BIOS' (yes/no) column to the list.

    - Added: HIde BIOS Sets option.

    - Added: 'Driver' column to the list.

    - Changed: simplified the way in which mame.ini is searched for.

    - Removed: -listfull command-line.

    - Changed: 'Description' is now retrieved from the XML output and not the listfull output. (Looping through the listfull output is slightly faster than adding that node to the XML parser, but I wanted to simplify things).

    - Changed: 'History Version' menu item to 'Reload History' which reloads history.dat before showing its version.

    - Added: multimouse and multikeyboard to the MAME Options dialogue.

    - Moved: vector options to 'miscellaneous'.

    DSCompress v1.0 released

    Mooney
    By Mooney,
    Description

    ===========

    DSCompress is a GZip compression front end for the Nintendo DS. It uses the latest libfat, so it

    should be compatible with any homebrew compatible flashcard.

    Instructions

    ============

    Select a file in the browser, and press A to compress.

    Select a file ending in .gz in the browser, and press A to decompress.

    Select a directory in the browser, and press A to enter it.

    Select '..' in the browser, or press B, to go up a directory.

    Notes

    =====

    The Nintendo DS's ARM9 runs at about 60Mhz. The Nintendo DS has 4Mb of RAM.

    Because of this, compression and decompression of large files is slow. The

    application should be pretty fault tolerant, but I am not responsible if it

    eats your file system, flash card, DS, home, loved ones, and soul. Use at

    your own risk.

    Known Issues

    ============

    The progress indicator is inacurate, particularly on large files and decompression.

    PSP Firmware 3.40* LE v2 by Team Wildc*rd released

    Mooney
    By Mooney,
    This can only be run from 3.40* LE (the original version of 3.40*).

    Fixed in this version:

    * Removed non-functional File Manager option in the Recovery menu

    * In recovery, detects ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP and only launches it if it exists

    * Fixed problems that kept UMDs from loading properly

    * Added support for %__SCE__/__SCE__ homebrew naming style

    * Re-enabled the use of GAME150 and GAME340, though you *DO NOT* need them.

    This still isn't what we'd like to call a "proper" release because it's just bugfixes to a rushed release, but it's much better than the first one!

    A note to anyone having problems with the PSP not starting after you install; go into Recovery and disable all of your plugins. It's a problem with our plugin system, we're sorry :'( We'll fix it in a new flasher soon.

    Thanks to Hard Core Rikki from General Emulation, who PM'd me about this. Of course, by the time I arrived home from work, it was already on most news sites. ;)

    Anyway, for those who invested their hard-earned cash in an Apple iPhone, here is the world's first emulator for it. Very much in beta, with no sound, but progressing nicely.
