Four Tales Coming to Four Systems

    Wizard
    By Wizard,

By way of Japanese blog Gemaga comes the news from Namco that four new games in the Tales series are headed to Japan. First off, prepare for the subways and buses of Tokyo to soon be filled with the sounds of a new original title for the DS, Tales of Innocence, due in Japan this winter. PS2 owners will get a title based on Tales of Destiny and Wii owners will waggle through a game based on Tales of Symphonia(note by wiz: YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS). We're assuming these will be sequels or at least significantly different, as ToI was released for PS2 already in 2006 and ToS is available on GameCube.

Japaese PSPs will be getting a port of Tales of Rebirth, released for the PS2 in Japan in 2004. The newly wide-screen game is set to release in early 2008. We have no idea if you'll ever play any of these outside of Japan, but Tales games have been fairly consistent about coming to North America, so we'll keep our fingers crossed.

    Ootake 1.15 released

    Robert
    By Robert,

    TG16 / PCE emulator

    2007/07/20 1.15 released

    - In the last stage of "Image Fight", the character came to be displayed correctly.

    * As a result, all the games of "Hu-Card" might operate without trouble at the report from users.

    - Operation speed & timing of CPU has been elaborately adjusted. In "Kisou Louga", the gap of the voice was solved. I think that the operation timing improved in other games, too.

    - Processing related to the memory access was considerably sped up. I think that processing lightened in some measure of a personal computer environment so not fast.

    - When "Gradius","Salamander" or "Parodius" is started, the sound automatically becomes a stereo mode. Tone quality is considerably good!

    - Additionally, a detailed part has been improved and corrected.

PSP CFW 3.51 M33-6 Update Released - Experimental Sony ISO Driver Included!

    BlackKnight
    By BlackKnight,

M33 is on a roll with their updates to PSP Custom Firmware 3.51 M33. This latest update adds preliminary implementation of that pesky Sony prx, NP9660, which would in theory allow for perfect No-UMD ISO-loading compatibility.

    CFW 3.51 M33-6 changelog:

    * This update introduces a new no-UMD more: the famous Sony np9660

    * The compatibility of this mode is not yet known, let's hope Sony codes well

    * Remember to choose "Sony NP9660" in recovery to use this new mode

    On another interesting note, the M33 team had this to say about the recent IE and LE CFW expansions by becus25 and Test30 respectively;

To the attention of becus25 and Test30: Please do not do any of your releases based from our firmwares. You steal and change name but contribute a tiny 20-line plugin. You are a shame for PSP development!

This, like all previous updates, can be installed over any existing version of 3.51 M33. Chances of BRICKING if instructions are not followed to the letter are still present.

    Silicon Knights Sues Epic Games

    Wizard
    By Wizard,

The gears of war are turning indeed. GameDaily BIZ has just been notified by Epic Games' Vice President Mark Rein, that independent developer Silicon Knights is suing the company over unspecified allegations.

"This morning we were served with a lawsuit by Silicon Knights. We believe the claims against us are unfounded and without merit and we intend to fully defend against them," said Rein.

He continued, "We'd love to tell you more about it but unfortunately our lawyers want us to save our comments for the courthouse so we're going to do our best to comply with their wishes. In that vein we'd appreciate if our friends in the industry and media would refrain from asking us about the suit because we're only going to say 'no comment.' We just wanted to share the news directly before the rumor mill starts churning."

So with that in mind, we've refrained, but we did put in an inquiry with Silicon Knights to see what this is all about. Silicon Knights has licensed Unreal Engine for its upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive Too Human.

We'll bring you more information when it becomes available.

Now this is a realtivly large artical, so check out Gamedaily for the whole thing.
