What's your favourite Internet radio station?
Alpha replied to Robert's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
My favorite station would have to be CLUB 977 80's Online Radio ... http://www.club977.com/ -
I just wanted to say keep up the great work to the staff who are keeping a close eye to the newly registered users on 1Emulation.

More improvements to 1Emulation v2.9!
Alpha replied to Alpha's topic in 1Emulation.com Information [/info]
It will only take a effect once they make a post after this announcement. This will then update their member group immediately. As for that bug: I need a video or picture, please PM it to me. -
It get's a bit stressful when you see websites that after a year are superstars. They are filled with thousands of users online and every second. It's been 4 years and more now that I've had the pleasure being the owner of 1Emulation. My final goal for this site is for 1Emulation to be one day as exactly as I have described. I can't imagine how many hours of hard mind power I've put into 1Emulation. Many stressful days that could make you laugh or even punch a hole in the wall. I was discussing how 1Emulation could possibly expand in the future with Gryph today. Maybe change the name perhaps? Right now were stuck with emulation, but is emulation really still a popular subject on the internet? Honestly, I don't think so. The flame has been put out ever since the last neogeo game was released to the emulation community. Sure, there is the Nintendo DS releases and Game Boy Advance releases, but they were nothing like the neogeo releases or even CPS2. I could remember the anticipation to emulate games like Marvel Vs. Capcom on Final Burn Alpha. Sure we all own these games or systems , but this is what makes emulation so exciting. I guess it could be since we all came from an arcade background (or most of the veterans of 1Emulation), but it's really a shame. More and more arcades today are going out of business. Sure, there is emulation on the PSP, Nintendo DS, and XBOX, but the excitement is still not what it used to be. Could the PS2 scene bring it back to life? Yes, I believe it could. Did the Dreamcast scene bring it back to life? For 3 months. So what do we do with a name like 1Emulation? Cover gaming and emulation? We are doing exactly that. However, can we expand to the likeliness of other extremely popular gaming sites? That's for you to decide.

** NEW TOPIC RATING FEATURE ** I'm sure you've seen this on many other forums you visit, but we finally now have the option available on 1Emulation. Just click the thread or topic of your choosing and on the top right hand corner you'll see the option to rate the topic. If it sucks? Give it a star or maybe 2. If it's great? Give it 4 or 5 stars! It's your choice. And maybe 3 stars if it's just OK. ** ULTRA MEMBERS ** Yes, we already posted about this before here, but we have changed the 10,000 posts to something reasonable, A LOT more reasonable. That's right, now all you need to be an Ultra Member is only 1,000 posts! We hope you enoy the new features of 1Emulation v2.9!

I was thinking how people all have a different perception of love. Some think it's just sex, other's think it's life and death. Some believe love doesn't exist without a partner and others believe love is a simple kiss on the cheek. Here's my short definition: Love is the passion of two partners who are able to express their bond with each other and their counter-parts (children). The two partners can express their bond with each other by sex or kiss. The only way to keep the bond with both the children and the partners is to express a feeling of ownership. This is by cuddling, hugging, and inspiring. P.S. If you want to write a definition, I think it would be best to not use the word love in the definition. And some examples of love: http://www.wellbored.com/funny_videos/page...eky_penguin.htm http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/7098/thpenguin3vk.gif GOT LOVE?

I'm sure many of you know that the inmates who get life in prison (in most countries) and are to be executed can pick any meal of their choice to have (just about) before the day of their execution. If you were to be executed, what meal would you choose to have? Mine would be a Bacon-Quacomole Burger (including a slice of cheddar, jack cheese, and mozaralla cheese) with lots of fries and sides of ranch dressing and ketchup. Sure, I'd gain a good 20 pounds in the process. But who cares? Going to get executed anyway!

Those parents are a very small portion of today's society. Most people around that age don't have the time to play games, not even myself. The only way for us to be successful is to have a job and work (and maybe some hobbies on the side such as this one).

What's your favorite gaming store to shop at? (Online and Retail)
Alpha replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Makesure you get a Taxi if you're going to be walking with a PS3 or Wii in your hands as you walk home later this year. -
The games are not targeted towards children; it's targeted towards the majority of gamers (who are adults according to the ESA). Parents need to be a little more responsible. Yes, I know there are a lot of parents who try to keep up with some sort of standard, so they work a lot; but I think that is irrelevant. If an adult works too long to actually do some parenting, then they shouldn't be having kids IMO. Therefore, I blame parents. As much as we say they shouldn't be having kids, they do. Look at these single mom's at age 16 trying to be parents and having grandma (who has no clue about games) let her grandson play GTA or even purchase it for them (just an example). This is the world we live in, enough fallacy.

So I was curious as to where you guys like to shop for gaming accessories, peripherals, consoles, or the actual games themselves? I myself am a big fan of Play-Asia and Jandaman which is why we have advertisements for their online stores here on 1Emulation. I find places like Lik-Sang way way overpriced. EBGames/GameStop also seem like a good place to check out if I'm in the United States. So where do you guys enjoy shopping at?

Sega Saturn Controller to XBOX 360 Adapter Prototype!
Alpha replied to Alpha's topic in Gaming and Tech News [/gtech]
It's the first of its kind, so I'd call it a prototype. There will always be better hackjobs which may be a real product someday (if okay with M$). -
Thanks to JoyStiq for the news as we have found this to be especially important for the emulation community as well. Many of us emulation fans enjoy purchasing products like the X-Arcade, Hori Fighting Stick for PS2, and even a Super JoyBox 9. All these products have reverse compatiblity to other gaming consoles (XBOX, PS2, DREAMCAST, etc.) or even a PC. Unfortunately, you won't be seeing any of these products working with an XBOX 360 any time soon. The reason for this is because "Only accessory makers that get Microsoft's blessing and fork over a slice of their sales to the software maker will be able to produce Xbox 360 game pads, steering wheels, joysticks and other controllers. In addition, in order to ensure that only authorized products connect to the new console, Microsoft is adding a security mechanism that will be available exclusively to those who sign a deal with the company, according to documents from a peripheral company filed with the SEC." (CNET News)Lastly, the only reason why this guy was able to get his Sega Saturn controller working on the XBOX was because he used parts from the XBOX 360 controller. If he were to sell his "adapter", he would be sued immediately for reverse engineering the XBOX 360 controller and reselling Microsoft parts in the adapter. Even if he makes his own adapter, he still needs to get it approved by Microsoft first. Good ol' Billy Gates and his money hunger. EDIT: Thanks to ShibaTheDog, there is already a tutorial on how to create your own Sega Saturn to XBOX360 adapter (as in the video). However, be prepared to tear apart a few controllers in the process! [Click Here]

Madonna has ripped off Abba for hung up, if she can't write anymore songs than the best option for her is to retire; she has a secured future anyway . Blame Fashion for corupting the Music Industry. I didn't know that. Thanks for enlightening me on it as my respect for Madonna and today's music has gone down the toilet.

Indeed it does work. The site looks good, but I would definitely re-work the side menu, and would suggest not using frames.

You have to have some pretty bad eyesight to not see the warnings everywhere not to post rom sites/links on 1Emulation. I would have cut you some slack if you posted it in another forum, but this is rediculous. Please learn from your mistakes.

Seeing as I've personally never got my hands on the Virtual Boy in my early years, I simply said Nintendo 64 was first to bring 3D in games. I thank both Agozer and Cinder for clearing this up and it just happened to be that I was correct.

I believe I played Diablo 2 once and absolutely hated it. I uninstalled it and I think it's in some old dusty box someplace, somewhere.

This issue has now been fixed. Topic closed.

I disagree K`dash, Jack Thompson I believe had the lead in this one and same with the other parent. This is the first time I ever watched a video and actually saw the guy (Jack Thompson) speak. He seemed very knowledgeable on the topic, and I even would say Rockstar has put too much crap in their games. Many children out there don't have intelligent parents to not tell them to play the game or purchase it. By far, Sessler looked like the most uneducated guy talking with his slurred speech and robust body movements. He just seemed like an average gaming fanatic who only speaked out of the blue. Only the parent was able to talk some sense into Thompson, and even then, Thompson put on the table many key factors from why he thinks games like GTA should be banned for children, period.

Wow, what a great tutorial. I hope to see more topics like this from you. Thread Pinned.

Those Russian hackers are a scary bunch!
Alpha replied to garyoak99's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Russians seem to love to target Invision Board and other message boards such as vBulletin. If I were to turn off admin validations.. you would see a hacking attempt from them every day. -
Why do I have a feeling I'll be checking Magnis' blog everyday?

Well, I'm no metal (except some White Snake, Pantera, and Kilgore) and country fan.. so you got me there partner.
