I agree that video game music is very original. The Street Fighter series for one probably has the best video game music ever made IMHO. It has an unforgetable beat and rhythm at every screen. However, I don't think I could ONLY listen to game music as you say you do. I can't see myself putting in a CD listening to Street Fighter's Zangief while I'm driving. If I want to hear it, I'll take out the old Super Nintendo and play the game. I've also seen this Dance Dance Revolution, people ripping songs from that and listening to it. Again, it's not the same. To me, it's like comparing professional wrestling.. WWE = Real Music / ECW (for now) = Video Game Music. EDIT: Boy, that is a terrible comparison, let me know if you can think of a better one.

Very true, I believe this trend did actually start in the 80's, but really has gone out of control. For example, I'll admit I'm a Madonna fan and most of her songs on my CD's have been very enjoyable. But lately, her latest CD's are awful. And yep, only the first song was slightly good. (after the album: RAY OF LIGHT) I find it a shame that even the platinum artists have to come back and think the only way to match the industry of today is to reproduce frisbee CD's as well.. At least be original.

You know, lately, all I have been doing is listening to either my old records from the early 80's or have been listening to Internet Radio solely that only plays 70's to 90's music. The music today is just terrible. I can't stand flipping through the pop/punk radio stations. It's either classic rock or nothing. Most of all, I really despise the remakes of some 80's songs that have been going on. The best example is Britney Spears "My Perogative", taken word for word from Bobbie Brown's "My Perogative". Another is No Doubt's "It's my life" taken word for word from Talk Talk's "It's my life". Originality is non-existant in the music industry (probably movie industry too, but different story) and the best example of this is on shows such as American Idol. If it were me running the show, I'd ask them to create the song word for word. A person is only a good singer if he or she can create a song themselves and run with it. You have to have the mind and voice, not one or the other. Do you believe it's possible we can have another 80's age, maybe in the 2010's perhaps?

Is seeing you as 2nd place a bug? Anything else that may be showing something incorrectly is only because it has not written any data to the database previously with the new features we have now. You just have to start playing from now to rebuild them. Remember, we did a big upgrade all around. -

Getting the exact color is a bit difficult due to their being no color sucker in programs such as photoshop. However, if there's a way to do it, let me know. -

Terrorists fail to recreate a bigger disaster than 9/11
Alpha replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Oh, come on. Do you really believe there's a "good" side? Do you really think foreign policy has nothing to do with this? It's a battle between two different kinds of evil. While all of us would certainly love to live in a manichean world, we don't. There are no things as simple as a battle between "good and evil". Unfortunately, we are usually confronted to one side's point of view and have rarely the opportunity to see one of the many other points of view. Discluding all the politics and governments that exist today, I do believe there is a good and evil. There will forever be people who like to destroy whatever necessary to pleasure themselves. Sure, it deals a lot with the person's perception on what they believe. However, no matter what, you'll always see who's on the good side and who's on the bad side. In the end, this will end up to become a widely populated agreement (TERRORISTS = BAD, COUNTER-TERRORISTS = GOOD) and that's how humans perceive reality (like sheep). So you indeed can call me a sheep, but I just agree with it. -
Terrorists fail to recreate a bigger disaster than 9/11

Just like there was no plane that hit the pentagon, but it was an alien ship that threw a torpedo. Oh and what proves it the best is how 9/11 is so neatly illustrated on the $20 dollar bill. Oh wait, it could be the aliens who did it. It's either coincidence or utter crap. I don't believe it and probably never will. -
These sons of bitches never give up. The battle versus good and evil has never been so fierce. It's getting riskier and the more advanced these terrorists become over the years, the more chances they'll finally have to get a hold of a nuke. It just astonishes me how they really thought they could get a hold of a bunch planes and blow them up over the atlantic. It just goes to show that they are still very stupid as well. You'd think they'd learn their lesson after 9/11, but no... they had to try again. Have fun in hell, or if you believe in nature, you can be a good fertilizer for plants.

Some new improvements to 1Emulation v2.9!

You should be seeing it back on 1emulation in the next hour or so. -
We became affiliates earlier this week, a little before 1Emu v2.9. Today, I finally had the opportunity to announce it.
-
It gives me great pleasure to announce our newest affiliate to the 1Emulation Family. That's right, this website is if not one of the best emulation sites out there today. It is run by Wraggster, by far one of the hardest working site admin's I've ever seen. DCEmuUK is a very broad emulation website that covers just about every single console you can think of and more. It has over 35 websites in its network maintained by Wraggster, the DCEmu Staff, and DCEmu community. Their news is very fast, so fast, than many prominent websites have had no choice but to pay their staff to news post at the same par. It is a great honor to now be affiliates with DCEmu! »» http://www.dcemu.co.uk/

Some new improvements to 1Emulation v2.9!
Alpha replied to Alpha's topic in 1Emulation.com Information [/info]
Okay, I have fixed the speed problems with the network bar. Thanks to Robert's help we were able to pinpoint the problem. The only loading problem there may be is the first time you view the menu, it may take a couple seconds to load into your cache. However, I'm still willing to redue the menu soon. -

The white space above the logo/gap trick you can blame on the IPB 2.1 Default Skin + IE, but I'll see if I can find a solution. I've put the network bar at max speed now. One of the reasons it may be showing slowly on different PCs is because it needs javascript and every computer is setup differently. I'll hopefully do the network bar from scratch and change it so it's no longer using javascript. -
Hmm... check your connection, makesure you're not downloading any torrents or anime. Otherwise, for myself it has gone faster, but that's just me.

Some new improvements to 1Emulation v2.9!
Alpha posted a topic in 1Emulation.com Information [/info]
Well, we heard, listened and took action. First and foremost, the 1Emulation Network Bar has been updated. It should be less of an "eyesore" with new (matching colors) and faster menu animation than before. Second, we added a link to the Forums at the top submenu with "Arcade, Blog, IRC, Calendar, etc." We also fixed a major bug in the topic view screens with people who joined a guild. It would show their post abnormally in Internet Explorer which has been resolved. The forum icons that show if there are new posts, new polls, etc. in a forum have also been updated to show a better difference between an icon that has no new posts. It should be much more visible. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you to fully enjoy 1Emulation v2.9! Regards, 1Emulation Staff Thanks to: Robert, Someboddy, STUFF, iq_132, Hexter, GryphonKlaw, and everyone else who contributed. -
We attempted to rebuild our post content in hoping to improve the stability of the forums. All in all, we were't able to complete the operation because we have so many posts here on 1Emulation. So unfortunately, we were not able to complete the task. However, the forum is still fully functional and we have optimized all SQL tables. Everything should be fine now. Let me know if you notice any speed improvements.

Welcome everyone to 1Emulation v2.9!

By saying "I thought they were red x's" I meant that they resembled IE's red x icons that showed up when pictures do not load. It is just how my mind works. oh *do not see any unless you really saw some red in there Thanks for the grammar correction. Otherwise, I still have no idea what the hell you're talking about. -

I don't know what you're talking about. This image? -> I don't see no red. -
I woke up to see 27 comments on the new 1Emulation v2.9. There is about an 95% positive feedback, and as suspected, a good 5-10% negative. I was suspecting it as it was the same reaction with the older design. I'll be improving the 1Emulation Network Bar substantially this week and I'm thinking of changing the looks and effects completely. We're also going to be creating a new logo for the IPB 2.1 Default skin. We just didn't have time to put it in before 1Emulation was back online from the upgrade. Thankfully we got a great graphics artist on the STAFF, BritneyPAIRS, who can help us out with that stuff. I'm going to try my best to make everyone happy with this transition to 1Emu v2.9! As for you guys who are already happy, get ready to be overjoyed. This is only the beginning of the saga as I am thinking and generating more and more ideas to come. I'm also going to need a masseuse (person who massages you for a living) since my neck and back is killing me. I may buy a new chair in the process as well. This $20 chair I bought on sale has to go in the trash. Does anybody know any good computer/desk chairs for under $80? BTW, if you own a PSP, check this link out. Best Buy is having a buy one, get one free sale on UMD movies. Thanks to Wraggster from DCEmu for the link. I don't have much more to say for this 2nd entree of my blog. Tomorrow, I'll post some dating tips.

The reason why those skins don't work properly is because since your an admin, you can see the blog skins as well. The ones with an asterik are only for the blogs.

A couple things I wanted to mention... The 1Emulation Network Bar is only a beta and it still has much room for improvement. I'll be changing the color of it for the IPB 2.1 Default skin soon as well. As for the new design being too dark, this is your monitor. I have an old ViewSonic CRT and it shows everything very dark. The best thing to do is to purchase the new LCD monitors which show everything with the correct brightness and contrast. And IMHO, the old design we had was much darker than this one. -

Ryder we'll be adding that for us something this week. He'll also be fixing the little bug that counts posts in the "SPAM Forum" for the Top Poster of the day. Don't you worry! Oh and I also fixed the color of the "Create a Blog" .. it's a little darker now. The arcade champions marquees have been removed from thread view because of exactly what you stated. (long page loads) -
