Since all of you have modded your XBOX in someway (not including softmod).. what modchips are you guys using and how do you like it? It can be soldered, solderless, doesn't matter. Tell us your story!

Actually, due to the lack of documentation with the SmartXX, I think I'll go with the Xecuter 3 CE and Xapt3r. Only reason why I'd go with the x3ce instead is because it has a backup flash and seems more reliable IMHO (+ more support in the official forums). One of our staff (iq_132) screwed up his flash and had to buy a programmer with the 2.6. I'd rather buy a chip that can last me a lifetime and never have to do any of that from future stupidity. There is also many 3rd party tutorials including the official tutorial for it as well. That is something that's very hard to find with the SmartXX and their forums completely suck at support. (many 0 reply threads)

That front end doesn't work with the newer version. Hell, it was made on June 18, 2004. Your best bet is to use Chankast Utilities if a front end is what you're looking for.

I'm becoming more and more interested in the SmartXX with an xapt3r, however due to the lack of documentation, I'm not sure? Did you have a hard time installing it? How did you manage? Any bugs with your chip or in the OS?

No thanks, I've had bad luck with soldering and this entire topic is about SOLDERLESS! If you can pick one of these 3 modchips I listed with good reason, let me know. Otherwise, I honestly don't care about soldering any form of object.

Flowrent is right, your computer is too slow so it'd be kind of pointless to try to run a game at a decent speed. Are you putting in your original dreamcast discs in your CD-ROM drive to play the game? Since that won't work, you'll need to find the ISO (Google is your friend) for the game you want or back it up somehow yourself which is a bit difficult for the average person.

More like, what kind of computer do you have (Pentium # / AMD?..how many Ghz?)... graphics card name.. ram... etc.? Chankast just won't run on any type of PC.

My goodness I haven't seen Emsley for a year now. I know Jitway comes and goes. And whacko jacko has been gone for a while too. It's a shame how the more time that passes, the more I realize how much time I've actually spent on 1Emulation.
