Chankast Utilities v0.01 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Speed Pig -> Status 90% - Speed Pig is a tool to increase or decrease the delay between refresh of frames on your PC, thus increasing the speed. (Audio gets increased too, so you will want to only use this if you don't mind trading off sound for speed) GameBuster -> Status 50% - GameBuster is a game cheater, the version in Chankast is just a plugin for it. This version of GameBuster can only lock memory address, but not search for cheats. You must do this on your own (See the readme) DualShock EveryWhere -> Status 10% - DualShock EveryWhere is a tool that makes a game or a emu support force feedback, even if they don't support originally. This is currently not working ATM! VMSBrowser -> Status 100% - This is Elsemi's tool and we have gotten permission from him to use it in the utilities. See the readme for more info. SnapIT -> Status 95% - This tool takes a snapshot of the emulator, all snaps are placed in a SNAPS folder. See the readme for further information. You can download the Chankast Utilities here! We kind of speeded up on releasing something to prove to you guys it's real and didn't make good enough instructions. The cheat's finder should work with the original release. However no worry, Chankast Utilities will be released today with a nice readme file with all the information on how to do everything!

Well Kryso has finally released a Cheat Finder Assistant that will search for cheats as you play Chankast. It works with the original version and it will work for the official Chankast Utilities v1.0 release (still being worked on)! Well progress has been going fast. It can be released any day now. Were going to release the Cheat Finder today to further progress the full release soon so we can have a lot of cheats in the cheats system which has now been completed. Also we sent an email to the Chanka team (basically for permission to do this), quite frankly it doesn't look like they care much at all about us releasing this. They have not sent an email back to us, nor have they replied to the topic Kryso has made in their official forums. However if they do have a problem, we will definately settle something and makesure everything will work out. At this point they have expressed 0% concern with us doing this. So we will continue work as we have been doing. But, do not think this will be just some "Illegal Hacked Version" because we did what were supposed to do and we went by the book. I just needed to clear that up.

Actually, you are right. Basically it's all DLL files, not really a hack in the core of the program at all. Name changed to "Chankast Utilities".

Our new friend to the emulation scene, Kryso has developed several utilities for Chankast that will not only speed gameplay, but also has a region utility, and a proposed cheats system. He is also developing dual shock support as a utility as well for the emulator! Kryso has made support shock for Callus previously! Currently here is the progress chart.. 1. Speed Pig, for speed seeting. 90% 2. Cheat, for Cheat. 50% 3. ForceFeedback, for the dualshock. 10% 4. VMSManager, for Manage the VMS. 100% 5. ConfigureRegion, for setting the region. 100% 6. SnapIt, Snap pictures with hot key ALT+s. 95% 7. Each program has a delay time, not the same as frame skip, between each frame. What he does is, he improves the time up time. This makes the game substantially faster while being emulated as you can see the remarkable speed of the FPS in Screenshot 1 below. Elsemi (programmer of the Nebula and Nebula Model 2) has created this utility that allows you to see the games kept in the memory card from the Dreamcast that uses the Chankast. Also you can import kept games (you can find many on GameFaqs) to your VMU and and keep yours for interchanging. You can find the link to download it below. Also a DC SelfBoot was released. It's actually a modified version by Franxis of the original made by Pedro. It avoids the error "this game is not compatible with the cable.." for many of the games! It works automatically and you can also set the speed you want to burn the cd on. The program does what it says, makes your Non-Self bootable games, Self Bootable! This is just horrible, imagine buying a PS2 memory stick and finding out it's a counterfeit once all your saves die after a year or something.

Still, it's a good read. Thanks for the link, this is more of the legalier way. PS: You can also change it to any combination you want instead of the default ones made. PAL/English NTSC/French, etc., so I'd say it's a lot better this way.

If someone revies another thread, that's old, I'll give out a Warn. Quite frankly, I am getting sick of it.

As we all know, the most used bios for Chankast that was released is a PAL/(Span)ish BIOS. Many people have said it is the only annoying thing with Chankast since most people including us were not able to find a NTSC/(Eng)lish BIOS or we couldn't flash it from our own DreamCast's. We have now found a way to modify your preexisting PAL/Spanish BIOS to a normal NTSC/English BIOS, better yet, any combination you want with even more languages to choose from!! Before you continue: Remember, 1Emulation.Com and it's servers to do not host any BIOS's and we do not condone any illegal activities or material. So please, own a dreamcast if your going to use this guide with a DreamCast BIOS. I. What you need: - Hex Editor (Choose Between: Hex WorkShop | XVI32) II. Unzip Sega DreamCast Bios Unzip the Sega DreamCast Bios if you haven't before (If you have already done this step if you played Chankast already, skip this step, if this is your first time with it all, keep reading) using WinRAR. III. Open the Hex Editor (either Hex Workshop or XVI32 is best) Open dc_flash.bin, then Search down through the file for "211Dreamcast" (its about 4/5 of the way into the file, just before a list of the japanese developers' names). Change that 211Dreamcast to 121Dreamcast. That string appears twice. That string appears twice. It worked with just one changed, but its probably a good idea to change both instances. IV. Save the DreamCast Bios Save the bios over the prexesiting original, we also recommend you keep a backup of the original just incase you mess up. V. Congratulations! Your bios is now a normal NTSC (with the Red Swirl, PAL is with the Blue Swirl) and it's in English too! If you would like to request a different language or combination, reply to this post and we can help you out. Notes: To change it to other languages yourself, you have to change the second digit to other numbers (either with the prexisting PAL combination or NTSC combination). Feel free to play around with it. We can't guarentee if this won't screw up playability with other games or make it any better, so try it out both ways (original and your own) and see how it is.
