  1. I will tell you, we will have a multimedia section for 1Emu v3.0. So if you want, you can make wallpapers for 1Emulation and it'll be posted on there. The only other person doing this is Omega_Iori, so you got some pretty heft competition. It's always cool to see what everyone can do though, so if you want, go ahead.
  2. Nice stuff, very good blending.
  3. Credits: http://Yahoo.com Post your comments here.
  4. Any of you guys remember Street Fighter: The Movie? I went to the theaters to see that crap and it was a waste. I mean it was cool at the time, but when you see it now, you ask yourself why you spent $3 to see it (yes that was the price back then).
  5. Do you get an error when you load the file, what exactly is the problem that appears?
  6. Mind telling us what program it was with, maybe if you are so kind, with a link?
  7. Think of it this way... If you put a bunch of gay people on a island and a bunch of straight people on another island, who would live and evolve?
  8. Yes we are, but at your second 2nd comment, only then 30-40% of roms would be illegal, since the ones that are not supported anymore which you can see K'dash's response a post above yours that it becomes freeware which is aloud to be distributed. When your selling freeware, that can put you in jail and is 10x more illegal, it's even another 10x more illegal selling roms that are even still supported by the others, you'd then get sued right off the bat which you would anyways. EDIT: The only reason why Paul is keeping this up is because he is most likely using the word "donation" as a scheme to pull this off which I have seen countless amount of times.
  9. But how would Paul pay for that without any donations? Banners? Ha, If I could run a $500 a month site on banners alone, I'd be up there with Google. Remember it's either a lot f money or none. @K'dash, you haven't run an emulation site, have you? People are greedy, take what they can get for free and screw you if you ask me to donate. Blah used to rely on clicks before (way before Isos), and they were begging weekly for clicks and donations to keep afloat. Now he has a policy that all new games and Isos are for paying members, and makes good money. Unfortunately that's just good buisness sense. I know you all can get the stuff for free, heck I did, but there are people willing to pay for the convenience of it being all in one spot with good D/L speed. He's had that on ********* since August 10, 2003 which was his last update on that site. So he was surely paying for it before with a ton more servers he has which you can see here (posting this for a 2nd time).. And he already has so many servers, so it's telling me he was already quite rich and he has hosting for other people which they pay him even more, this is all a profit scheme.. "Blah has servers across North America, including California, Canada, Texas, Illinois, Florida, and Washington, D.C. We aim to meet your personal or business needs, and range from small scale web-hosting to full dedicated multiserver platforms." - ********* If you have that on any site, that tell the people who are looking at it that they are quite rich. Wasn't he also the one who owned *****? I can't remember too well and I can be wrong, but this guy own's a lot of sites and I am pretty sure he has getting a wealthy amount of money from other hostees as well.
  10. Well someone just pointed me to where you guys are coming from... ******* Were not bashing you, were just posting our opinion and what we think about one thing about the site, not all of it. I even have a rule for it... That is right from our board rules, were not bashing you. I think we all have a right to just post an opinion on something. We never said Blah itself is a bad site, were just talking about one thing that doesn't seem right to us. If we really wanted to bash you, we'd come on your forum and post that, but that's just wrong and is stupid. We don't love you, we don't hate you, were just posting our 2 cents. So please, stop putting it out of proportion. I like conversations like this, let's not make it bashing.
  11. Should be, but unfortunately this is the real world where, like you said, 'bandwidth costs money'. BTW, how much money have you donated? If you're like the statistics, there is a 99% chance you haven't. Why? Because while novel in practice, not enough people donate voluntarily to keep a server running. I used to run a Hotline server for free, with just about as many games as Edge had. What did I get? A pile of leechers that didn't even give me the courtesy of a thanks, but dowloaded as much as they felt like. Like I said, they probabaly don't even pay for bandwith. They most likely have a 10MBPS unmetered bandwith server. Meaning they won't have to pay for bandwith. They even said that they just got a new hard drive for all of the roms. Meaning that it's all on one box (server) anyways. So why does everyone have to pay for the rest of their servers? Those rest are probabaly having nothing to do with emulation which = profit. I am a big fan of blah and it's a great site, but seeing this coming along, I thought I had to post my 2 cents. Sorry if I am offending you guys but uhh, you guys came here, I would never post this on your own site since that'll just cause problems that none of us need. So, remember that. EDIT: You can even see here towards the bottom how much a VERY HIGH end server with a 10MBPS connection costs: http://www.ev1servers.net/english/xeon_series.asp (I even already posted this before, but forgot to hit the nail on the wall by telling you it's also a unmetered bandwith box/server, you can also find cheaper than this with other providers. Hell he can even make his own server and it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper with the same 10MBPS unmetered bandwith connection) EDIT II: Again you can see that he can easily afford that since he is approximently getting $600 a week from one time fee's from new users EVERY WEEK. And that server only costs $500 a MONTH, unlimited bandwith.
  12. You do realize that emulation on its own is illegal? And no, it is not $30 a month, it is a one time thing for all of the ROMS/ISOS. I don't know where I typed that, it's quite possible I did, but it was a typo. I do know that it's a one time donation. Not all of emulation is illegal, infact about 60-70% of emulation is legal. The 30-40% is for the newer games being emulated, still supported by the authors. Selling roms is HIGHLY illegal, you could go to prison for that since your selling copyrighted material. Ever see a guy getting handcuffs on his hands off the streets for selling copies of video's? Don't you remember when Microsoft sued that one group who were copying their Windows Releases and selling it off the streets? Now those are pretty different topics in itself, but it whole revolves under one point. Selling (access for) copyrighted material is far worse then giving it out publicaly for free. There is a reason why there is copyright in the first place. Using the term "Donation" is just a way of hiding yourself. People aren't that stupid. If you host that many servers in so many parts of the world... "Blah has servers across North America, including California, Canada, Texas, Illinois, Florida, and Washington, D.C." - Blah... then you surely can afford paying for Blah Sellings roms brings emulation down. As Jiggs said, we should have stuff like Mame_Freak's Lazarus Project ( http://greenguild.net ), the person sends in the dvd's or cd'rs for the media and they'll freely copy the full mame roms set for you and send it via mail to anywhere in the world. All you have to do is pay for shipping. Or they can pay for the media (cd'rs and dvd'rs) and they'll send you the mame set copied on it. There are many ways to give roms to people, I am having a hard time sucking in all these excuses since after having this site for almost 3 years, I am pretty sure I know the tricks of the trade (I still can very well be proved wrong, not trying to act cocky). The thing is, if this becomes too popular, expect The ESA (formally the IDSA) or even another new group to go on another rampage of shutting down sites which I already know they have contacted Blah before (also probabaly before they had this $30 thing going). It makes the emulation scene look like a warehouse of copyright games to sell, which is horrible. I have a feeling both of you guys are from Blah, like I said, I have nothing against you guys and you can do what you want.
  13. Just for a warning on this thread.. don't bash other countries or be racist to different races or religions. Don't forget. Thank You and please do not quote this post, otherwise this thread will go off topic. This is just a reminder, nothing more.
  14. Probabaly you get more points for head shots or something.
  15. Man...just go to blah jr....a very good and reliable Rom download site...although you DO have to register to get more of the High-End roms (Saturn and stuff...) but everything else is free...there's a 120MB per day download limit to those who aren't registered...i guess thats for keeping the servers under control, which is a great thing...if you're lookin' for CPS-2 and Neo Geo roms...definitely go there, but beware...those 2 links tend to shut down a lot (popularity i guess...) blah jr. and Blah are practically the same sites since they are both tightly affiliated as I remember. I guess blah jr. is better though.
  16. I know which admin did it, I think it was just a joke. I won't spill the beans till he does, but if you really want to know and it's bothering you, PM me.
  17. After looking at this site, I can say that there are several ways of looking at this. 1) The first way is people just donating for the site to help pay for bandwith that the roms use up so the site will stay alive. 2) The second way is people donating just for rom access. (kind of the same as #3) 3) The third way is people basically paying for roms. Here is why I say this. After looking through the site, you can see he has a section that shows how much people are donating every week. This week itself, he has made $617 in donations (not counting tomorrow or the rest of today)!! It's a $30 minimum for full rom access. Now you think, this site is also a company (I did my research) which says in their mission statement for their ".net" domain that states they have several servers all around the world. Now, these guys would have to have a unmetered server... meaning bandwith is unlimited under a 10Mbit connection. Many providers have this option. And as far as I can see, these guys look pretty rich as it is to have so many servers. Now you think, they are probabaly making a approx just from seeing this week.. $600 a week. There is usually 4 weeks in a month... that's $2400. More than enough for a 10MBPS connection and he probabaly made more during January when emulation really was hot with all the releases of games. I can tell you that I SERIOUSLY doubt he has any bandwith limit on his servers. $30 minimum donation is a hell of a lot of money. More than regular webhosting! This guy is making more money than any emulation site I have seen. I would never pay for roms, I think it brings the scene down and is not good at all. Anyways it's my theory, You can even see here towards the bottom how much a VERY HIGH end server with a 10MBPS connection costs: http://www.ev1servers.net/english/xeon_series.asp That price is $499 month. This guy is making a freaking crazy amount of profit. Now your probabaly asking, maybe he has the roms on other servers too. Well yes, but he said on his site that he just got a new hard drive for all of it, meaning one server. I'd suggest Direct Connect if someone wants roms, it has 10x more than this site can ever have in the next 10 years or more. PS: No offence towards EdgeEmu if they ever get to read this, it's your site, do what you want.
  18. I know. I am trying to hook him up with her but when we talk all she wants to do is talk about me. The best thing to do then is get yourself out of the picture... stay away from her.

  20. It's just a user I know who does a lot of website stuff and I know him from another site I use to go to. He also took the snapshots himself.
  21. Great, I just noticed that. I wonder if you guys have ever glanced at the rules?
  22. Ahh damn, I didn't realize you made a thread about this. Your signature was already too big so I removed the top image. I thought the top one was better from what I saw, I just removed the most recent. I suggest you post the signature image I removed here in this thread so you can choose at least one of them since your signature was just too big. Sorry for any inconveniences we have caused.
  23. You mean this website? I own this website and Magnis is Co-Owner.
