  1. HEEEEEYYYYYY!!! I like the name! Don't worry you will get used to it.
  2. After just about 1 Year, I am ending EmulForums. Quite frankly I am very happy about it. We had some Extremely BAD TIMES, and some awesome times. Emul Forums started in June of 2002, with just a simple GeoCities site. Then we got bigger and better with our own forum. Later on we converted to vBulletin, one of my favorite forum softwares. Meanwhile, after about 3 months, I changed it to phpBB, which is the forum software we use now. I created File Searchers, GameShare Systems, and even a Rom Sector. We had some great things at EmulForums. But, lets not keep talking about the past, but now. You are all probabally wondering why, I didn't pursue with the name, "Emul Forums." It was simply because there is already a EmuForums.Com, which people would get confused if I got a Emul Forums.Com. Last but not least, the name Emul Forums has been drowned to the death in some sites, and its time, its time, for a NEW Beginning. The only thing left with the name "Emul Forums" will be our direct connect hub. Otherwise, welcome everyone to: 1Emulation.Com
  3. Today was a very sad day, the Lakers lost from the San Antonio Spurs after Game 6. Now I am a big Laker fan, and this by far stands out. Three straight runs, rick fox injured, shaq with a messed up knee, phil jackson with heart problem, and horry sucked the whole year. Kobe should have won MVP, but didn't, and Tim Duncan won which brought the whole Lakers down in the start of their series.
  4. Are you kidding me!! EmulForums :: Sega Saturn :: Emulator Download Section PS: Don't ever forget about our Download Section.
  5. Great post Emsley and I agree with everyones comments. Especially the part with the liveness and of course we all know its true. Basically it couldn't have been said any better in how to get Roms and Isos around here. One reason we even have 100 post criteria is because we want people to keep this forum alive. Don't forget btw, 400 posts gets you a free emulation message board. Recently we have been going through many slow down problems, however, everything seems back to normal for now and I will work to the MAX to make this the best emulation board around. However I will say this.. a New Beginning is Coming..!!
  6. We got this nice software that will kill any apache processes that will take a lot of resources, so no more slow speed. Everything is running a lot faster now and smooth. Once again, thanks for everyones support that got us through this.
  7. Slowness back again. We are fixing it still. It seems that we thought we fixed it, but we were wrong. Here is all the info, I don't know anymore: After a certain amount of time, httpd (the Apache webserver daemon program) would use up a lot of memory so it would bog down the server. By setting up softlimit to limit the amount of memory each httpd process can use, we can hopefully prevent this from happening again. There are several possible reasons httpd processes have been growing to exceptional sizes: * A hacker has been launching DoS attacks. * httpd, mod_php, mysqld, or one of the scripts a hostee runs has been having a race condition causing it to use up lots of resources. * httpd has a major memory leak problem. * Something we can't seem to think of at the moment. We'll know by tomorrow if softlimit works in preventing the server from being bogged down. None of this stuff is directly towards EmulForums. My server has over 30 hosted websites and we are just one of them, so will just have to wait till they fix it.

  9. Well after a 24 hour 14.4K modem slowdown, we are back! To be honest, it actually feels a little faster than usual. Thanks for everyone's support which got us through this slowness catastrophy.
  10. Well the slowness has been fixed. We are now once again, "Living in The Fast Lane!" Thanks for everyones support which got us through this 24 hour catastrophy.
  11. Currently or should I say unfortunattely our Apache Server is taking way too many system resources. So if you have ever used a 14.4K modem, this is how it feels. My server admin at this time is working on it with some coleuges. Hopefuly emulforums will be back up to full speed in 24 - 48 hours. Between this time, we recommend you talk in your direct connect hub... dchub://emulforums.servegame.com *Crosses His Fingers*

  16. To be honest, I really don't know, havn't been there for a eternity after that attack, but I am preety sure they only put it for the rom requesting and such and posting links. I never have heard they do that with their private roms or if they have anything like that. PS: Don't worry though evilnos, your very close to getting it.
  17. Thats exactly would I'd like to know. Where is the link to this?
  18. ROTFL!!! That was hilarious Bridgestone Tires would make such a commercial.
  19. Well believe it or not, DC++ has already been hacked since the source code for it is public. I myself did a lot of research on fake sharers and all of the major clients they use and one of them is a exact hacked version of DC++. I won't release the name since that will just provoke other people, however some sources say all of these fake sharers contain a backdoor hack that the maker of these fake sharers can reformated or do something even worse with all the people using his fake sharing clients. So it could be maybe be the end for fake sharers. However about 10% of all hubs users are fake sharers too or make their share say 100GB when they really have 50GB. So its not exactly always based on if that person is just not sharing anything at all.
  20. Its english slang such as, "Word Dude!".....or "Hey isn't EmulForums Awesome?" "WORD, DUDE!!" Its what I call Surfin' Talk.
  21. Now that you mention it, I saw the vids on it, it looks SUPERB!! Way, way better than Max Payne which everyone would always say thats the closest game to The Matrix. Hopefully I will be able to buy it soon.

  23. Well you got a very good point there. At the same time since these P2P softares are not exactly what we call "Well Made" always, they are easy to hack and people abuse that tremendously. A good example of is Fake Sharers in Direct Connect. They make Direct Connect say that you have a 100GB share or whatever and when someone looks in your file list, you have nothing. Samething with Kazaa, it has become a porn ground. People don't really use it for music anymore. If Napster stayed alive, to be honest I think it wouldn't be as bad. Then the rest of these softwares would be based on Music Only (which is highly arguable), but thats what I think. This would help music, as well as games and softwares and such only available of off of IRC, NewsGroups, & Websites. It would also make it harder for people to get roms and allow more new games and softwares to be made in the future. After Kazaa was made, over 10,000 internet softwares, games, etc, were discontinued or should I say everyone stopped working on them because they had to rewrite all of the codes to make it so people can't post it on the net or something.
  24. I have seen many girls play the sims and bought all 5 or 10 expansions. Now of days I hear most of them are on AIM 24/7.
