  1. LMAO!!! I guess that's where I got the idea from. I must have read that and my subconscious grabbed it before my conscious mind did. Well then, thread closed.
  2. Is it true that 4chan is not moderated at all? Can you potentially see something there that's either not legal or will make you vomit for the next few weeks? If that's the case, then I'm further confused as to how anyone would want to visit there or subject themselves to such surprises.
  3. I know a lot of you are probably thinking of the list of anime movies you've seen. Since, I don't watch anime movies, or anime for that matter, my mind will be searching through the limited amount of animated movies I've seen from Pixar, Disney, etc. My vote goes to the original Toy Story. I saw it with a buddy of mine and his children. It was an epic movie that really set the standard for the rest of the animated movies up into the 21st century. It brought a revolution of 3D animators as well. So what does your vote go for?
  4. I never really heard about 4chan until a few years ago. Every now and then I visit one of their categories to see what's so special about it and I close out of the window after the first few minutes. I don't know why people are so crazy about it and it seems a lot of people who visit Digg (a site I frequent everyday) are from 4chan. It just seems like a bunch of different guestbooks with random people talking. Any 4chan fans here who can explain it to me?
  5. How are they different genres? Doesn't it boil down to two RPG series'?
  6. Let's not assume anything about the engine until someone actually reports that they've played the game. So far, it looks absolutely fabulous. The trailer was really amazing to see. Although, I think it would have been better if they headlined the two top fighters as Superman and Scorpion, instead of Batman and Sub Zero. First there was Marvel Vs. Street Fighter and now there is DC vs. Mortal Kombat. Isn't that amazing? EDIT: Here is a higher quality link to the trailer: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/52301
  7. I saw it on the news this morning. I'm glad there wasn't much damage. They also say there will be a huge 7+ earthquake coming to California in the next 20 years or so. We got to better prepare ourselves for the worst case scenarios. The funny thing is that a lot of people on the east coast (based on witness accounts I've read) had no idea what it was when they first felt the earthquake. Many thought it was a bomb or their wife shaking the bed.
  8. I've personally never played any of the Final Fantasy games. It's something I simply never got to. For one, I didn't have a Playstation, and I never desired for it with my Nintendo's. The only role playing games that I've learned to love are all from The Legend of Zelda series. I have a strong desire to play Final Fantasy VII to this day, but I know I'll be playing Zelda games for many years to come. So based on your experience (obviously not mine), what series did you think was and is better? Choose your destiny. Final Fantasy Series (not just VIII as in picture below) VS. The Legend of Zelda Series
  9. Holy crap, we're going to have to celebrate soon! Once started in 2005 and now in 2008. This thread has almost hit 100 pages. EDIT: LMAO ... looks like this post hit it spot on. The Hot Chicks thread is now 100 pages (1,090 posts) long. Congrats.
  10. The drug wars will never end. Sometimes the smartest thing to do is allow all drugs, but educate people not to use them. That at least takes the drug lords out of business, when Marlboro makes them instead. At least, it seems to be working in the Netherlands. It would definitely suck though getting into a car accident with someone who just injected themselves with Heroin. Imagine signs saying "Don't inject and drive", instead of "Don't drink and drive".
  11. I'm very glad to see you active here. In the back of mind, I always hoped to see many of the folks from Havoc one day posting here as well. A few guys I'd like to see here are Esco, Dpsx7 (this guy seems like one smart cookie), Madwon, and a few others. Of course, we have a lot of great characters already on 1Emulation. No one can reject new blood though.
  12. Cops do prevent crime as well, but you don't hear about it. Arresting members of gangs before they blow up another gang is preventing a crime. What would you rather watch: a high speed police chase or a drug smuggler arrested? I think most people would watch a police chase. The media usually only covers what's entertaining and crime prevention isn't really one of them. Look at "To Catch a Predator' from Dateline NBC. That show is very entertaining and you get to watch how the sickest minds on the planet get to hear their own disgusting minds being read back to them by John Hansen. It's probably the only successful crime prevention show (ratings wise) ever made on television. Everything else to watch ... is the crime after its been committed. It's how the world works.
  13. The test of time has really puzzled me these last few years. So many sites have come and gone, but we're still here! There are sites that I've previously mentioned in which I thought would be active for the next 20 years, but are barely alive now. The Internet got good in 1998 IMO, and it got great from 1999. What we got to do is take what we have and expand even greater. Perhaps this is what the next step is all about.
  14. I'm not a pig! Cops are good people. Just don't try to burst their bubbles. Always say what they want to hear because if you say otherwise, they start getting excited to arrest or tazer you. Do you think cops are always living exciting lives catching criminals? Nope. Most of the time they're sitting in their police car, hiding at a corner, and waiting to catch some idiot going 55mph at a 45mph road.
  15. It's very weird... even weirder that 1Emulation started back in 2002 as "EmulForums". This is our 6th year. Think if a baby was born in 2002 and now that baby has entered the first grade at the age of 6. I can't believe 1Emulation is still here and hopefully we'll still be cooking in 2012. But in the end, it mostly depends on you guys keeping this place on its feet. Oh and I'm sorry if I got anyone depressed with my analogy.
  16. I still remember when I went to a popular department store and they had an escalator to bring up the carts to to the second floor. I told one of my friends who was with me, "Welcome to the year 2007!" Today, I was at a big electronic store (something like Best Buy) and I was staring at one of the brand new big LCD screens, which was playing a Blu-Ray promotional disc. The promotional video was telling me, "Welcome to the future of movies" and it shows clips of all the top movies of the last 2-3 years. I was probably staring at the screen for a good 2 minutes. The picture quality was absolutely amazing and crystal clear. I haven't been a fan of the entire high definition craze, but I might just have to upgrade. However, I still believe DVD is still the #1 medium IMO, and if it were me, VHS would still be #2. It also got to me that I'm stuck in the past. I remember watching a VHS movie I rented (yes, some rental stores still have VHS movies) and it had a trailer for DVD in 1997, which was almost identical to the Blu-Ray trailer I saw. It was a very creepy experience watching that Blu-Ray promotional video. Sounds cheesy, but it felt like someone threw me in a time machine and left me at an electronic store 10 years later. I was reminded of the movie Time Machine and Minority Report. Time is flying ... I got to hang on dammit.
  17. I believe that they do run at full speed. Most games run full speed, but there were a few games that didn't work for me. At the same time, I'm sure there is a newer version that plays more games now.
  18. Congratulation's everybody and a big thanks to all diggers who dugg our story up to the main page and in the TOP 10 under gaming news for today. Our server was down for a few hours, but a big thanks goes out to Sdcofer and Miskie who kept the server alive and hanging through these tough seas. The Digg Effect is definitely hard to withstand, but I think we're holding up quite well so far. Check out the story: http://digg.com/nintendo/Nintendo_Wii_Virt..._and_HTML_files EDIT: Wow, we're now in the TOP 10 on digg.com front page. Thank you once again to all who dugg. Keep on digging!

  20. [ Digg it: http://digg.com/nintendo/Nintendo_Wii_Virt..._and_HTML_files ] The Nintendo Wii homebrew/hacking scene hit a big case of misfortune recently after the encryption for the Wii virtual console games was decrypted. Many sceners did not want this to publicly happen, as they feared it would shorten the lifespan of the Wii from piracy, and Nintendo would be more adamant in patching holes for newer firmwares. However, since the first few virtual console games have been released in the inner cores of the Internet, one of our staff members took the liberty in seeing what one these decrypted virtual console games (and which he owned) had inside them. Upon further inspection, he found that the game held a ROM file, that can even be played on emulators! Not only that, but the documentation of the game that you can read on the Nintendo Wii is simply a bundle of HTML files. The virtual console games come with the emulator as well, and the emulator application is one of the files in the game WAD.
  21. Wow, great research iq_132! I'm definitely going to post this as news.
  22. How about sudden slowdowns? I noticed that sometimes games freeze every now and then for a few seconds, while I'm using SurrealXXX.
  23. What games have worked perfectly for you with PCSXbox? How does Final Fantasy 7 and Tekken 3 work on it?
  24. I thought this method only works with certain PS2 models?
