We're practicing like crazy now for the big tournament.

We have assigned a new Moderator to our 1Emulation Staff, and that is: iq_132! iq_132 is a veteran of 1Emulation and has been around for quite a few years now. He's also an administrator at a popular *unnamed* emulation forum. He even has a very informative message board called NeoSource hosted on the 1Emulation Network for NeoGeo and Arcade emulation. Not only is he a good person to talk to online, but also very intelligent in MAME, Arcade Emulation, and the Nintendo DS. He'll be covering the related forums we have on 1Emulation. Please congratulate him for his new status on 1Emulation!

Add me to the list! Perhaps you should upload (via forum attachment) the emulator/kaillera build we will all be using for the tournament? -- Nevermind, I see you have a link in the thread. I'm going blind.

Bah humbug! $100 price drop for 20GB less .... who would want the 80GB PS3 for $100 more?

Redesign doesn't seem too impressive to me. The only thing that I like is their news highlights bar at the top right. Other than that, it's a pretty generic layout still. Much like any other blogging/portal site.

How many sites do you check regularly on a daily basis?
Alpha replied to Diso's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I'm really enjoying how we're finally putting the poll system to work here on 1Emulation. I visit the site as much as I can throughout the day. If I ever counted, it'd probably be around 20-30 times a day. As far as other sites I visit: Digg JoyStiq PSPUpdates Engadget Yahoo! News And some others not worth mentioning. -
This is the most amazing thing to happen to the music community. For the first time, in more than 5 countries at the same time, there are concerts promoting self awareness to global warming. Not that I'm much of an environmentalist, but I think it's awesome. On the LiveEarth website, you can select any country you want to watch the concert in.

Why has 1emu suddenly gone gay?

Then what the hell is the point? They should really be removed if they don't bring profit to the site at the expense of denying our right to not be assaulted by spam... The point of the ads are to offset as much personal cost to GameCop as possible. The fact this site doesn't make any money while GC still fronts a considerable bit of his own money and time shows his dedication to this community and the scene. I think it is unfair to begrudge GC from trying to recoup some of that cost. It's one of those things where it makes you really thankful to all of the volunteer admins, mods, and news posters. I think we really have some of the best news posters in the scene because of their dedication and thoroughness. And as Cinder said, the ads are not that bad. Hexter knows the deal because he is also a web master so he understands what it takes for a site to survive. How's this, if I ever become rich then this site won't have to display ads. Till then you can just ignore them. We hope you understand our predicament. So tell me what does it cost to run this site? We'd like to keep that confidential. -
Wow, this looks very cool. Keep us updated.

Microsoft extends 360 Warranty to 3 Years...
Alpha replied to Wizard's topic in Gaming and Tech News [/gtech]
I wouldn't sell it cheap as I do have a few games. I would probably try to get rid of it for over $400. -
What a dumb woman ... and definitely major props to the kid. I liked his attitude about the situation. And kudus to AT&T .. 1 per customer is a good rule after what has happened to the limited availability of the Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

Oh boy, that (underlined) statement always gives me the heebie jeebies .... yes, and if I go out and rob a few banks in 24 hours, but then give all the money back the next day, nothing happened right? NO, you still robbed the bank. NO, you still go to jail!

I wouldn't be surprised if Dark_Alex received a few threatening phone calls or letters and realized that it was too much for what it was worth. All in all, there are already people waiting in line to replace him. No harm done.

I was too busy this week to catch the fireworks this year. Oh well ... next year it is.

I've purchased the same one, but the vibration never has worked. It could be that mine is an earlier version of the adapter. What games and/or emulators did you try it with that worked? As far as picking out a controller ... PC controllers do SUCK. Your best bet are the console controller adapters. Coincidentally, I'll actually be reviewing many of these adapters this month. So if you wait a little, you should have a good idea what to buy.

Sorry to read what happened to yours. Although this specific problem has never occurred on mine, I've seen that it's a very common problem. Now I'm not much of a guru in the inner electronics of this 'lil device .. but here's the best advice I can give you: Most likely your best bet will be to purchase a new one, perhaps an R4DS this time? Keep the one you have as a backup. These devices are not built to last a lifetime, so expect them to eventually fail. Also, check with the online shopper you purchased it from and see if perhaps you can return it still with a restocking fee or something to that extent. Good luck!

Very true .. I have been also very surprised by the sudden price drop of the external hard drives. The problem it has caused though is that now if you go to Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.. you will notice that they mostly, if not, only sell external hard drives. Internal hard drives have almost become extinct for the big electronic stores. The only good places still selling them are online (ex: NewEgg). Although I don't need the extra space now, but I know it's going to be a big hassle for me in the future since I'm not much of an online shopper.

Microsoft extends 360 Warranty to 3 Years...

I've read that m$ has started to send back the XBOX 360's with a new heatsink. Therefore, it seems that they have implemented some sort of preventive fix if you send your 360 in for repair. However, it pisses me off that they don't setup some sort of do-it-yourself kit that someone can buy or obtain for free from their website to prevent the 360 from failing. I just read on Yahoo News that m$ will be losing $1 billion from all the XBOX 360 repair costs. This is obviously a rampant problem and I wouldn't be surprised if statisticians are going to start estimating the failure rate of the XBOX 360. Nevertheless, I purchased an XBOX 360 last year with some money I saved up. It's been gathering dust and I'm contemplating now if I should try to resell it and get the money now before it gives me the red rings. I'd probably buy a Wii instead and use the rest of the money for something else. What would you do? -

It costs a lot of money from my own pocket to keep 1Emulation and our network of websites running. How much money do you think we make from the advertisements we have now? Almost zelch. It's people like you who love to bicker and complain and never give a little back. These past few months I have been so busy that I have been unable to generate enough for the 1Emulation fund. Even today, I had to drive to the nearest bank to deposit a check for this place, otherwise the account would bounce. The amount of money coming in has always been far less than what has been going out. Remember, there is a reason for everything.
