This is the best explanation of the CPS3 encryption system that I have found. Basically, if the hardware notices any tampering, it'll self destruct or erase the decryption key. Wow! This is some huge news. Glad to see it finally happening.

Well, 1Emulation is finally back online. We're still not exactly sure what caused the sudden errors on the forums and we're hoping there was no damage to the database (posts, member data, etc.). Also, another reason why it took so long was that this week has been pretty hectic. No one can necessarily prepare themselves for these sudden occurences. Please private message me if you receive anymore errors throughout the site. Infact, if any of you members have some free time -- go through some old posts and make sure none of them are missing and that they all still load correctly. That includes private messages, blog posts, etc. Maybe it's just me, but I think all of us needed a week break from here? Sorry for any inconveniences we may have caused.

A little too paranoid perhaps? I'm glad we have discussions like this. It's always a good read to see what people believe around here. Just keep it as constructive as possible and all shall be fine.

Purchasing a GP2x is easy from places like Play-Asia. (purchase link) I'll be very surprised if this "GamePort" will be under a $100 ... but if it is, there's a strong chance it can do better than the GP2x.

I don't know about the brand of ram you're getting. My best experiences have been with Corsair and Kingston. I don't know anything about G.SKILL ... Instead of paying so much for a keyboard and mouse ... I would upgrade your graphics card to a 7900GT. My experiences with the 7600GT were disappointing (probably only b/c the brand eVGA sucks). Also, make sure you got some excellent cooling in that PC. I hope you also know how to build it yourself. Otherwise, I'd recommend you use one of the online computer builders.

Didn't that turn out to be not all it was cracked up to be? The GP2x plays all the consoles listed in Ben Heck's GamePort and probably more. And yes, I expected more from the GP2x ... you can read my review (do a forum search) if you want to find out why.

The problem is that hardly anybody ever opens their DS. DS owners never purchase modchips and flashcards don't require opening it up as well.
