Well seeing a new version of Ryu's bigass Shinkuu Hadouken in 2D brings a tear to my eye. This can't fail.

The res is 589824 pixels. 720p is 921600, and 1080p is 2073600. Basically it is running at roughly half the number of pixels as a true 720p game, and a quarter of the number of a 1080p one. But that is all just number crunching- as Drake said it does look like a PS2 game.

NGBC was rumoured to come to Live around the same time it got its PAL English PS2 port. Then it was downgraded to being on the backburner, and we haven't heard about it since then. But hey 98UM is actually finally coming out after years of delays, so who knows?

Nope. Seems like even a disc release is going the way of NGBC for Live. Looks like we will have to stick to the PS2 for this one.

This is pathetic. First off, we're in the HD generation. That is why so many people forked out for consoles, HDMI cables and full-HD TV sets. Second, this is Haze on the PlayStation 3. This is the game that was meant to use all those 8 or so processing units and get the bleeding edge performance out of the machine. This is the machine that vaunted all games at 1080p, as compared with the 360's 720p / not true-HD resolution. Finally, 1024x576? There are barely more pixels than SD PAL has. 1024x756 has been the baseline resolution for PC games for a while, and the PS3 can't even manage that? It's not true-HD, but its not even close either! Sure this is the case with something like CoD4, but all console versions of that run at a constant 60fps, which well-specced PCs struggle for. Whatever, I'm sick of wild claims and them not being lived up to. This goes for Sony and Microsoft. I've always been an advocate of framerate over resolution, but this is really sad. High Definition was the big draw for games this time round. How dare anyone in the industry have the gall to turn around and say 'Personally, I don’t really buy the whole thing.' That is a copout, a complete 180 and a very poor excuse for poor hardware design, lack of optimising on the development end, and a bunch of lazy SOBs lying through their teeth. I am annoyed. Errr.. all pro and semi-pro cameras use tape. You just need to digitise it. Also do you actually know what you're doing, and how much are you looking to spend? I wouldn't recommend buying anything because you couldn't really afford anything worth buying. Unless you're a professional cinematographer don't buy your own gear- just rent from a production house. Or just buy a $500 'cam-corder' if you're not that serious. They're all the same.

Not specific to this, but in terms of shooting things, why should a book be held more reverent than human life? I am an avid Windows user, and while I am not fond of Macs, I'm not exactly an Apple hater. Ahem. Anyway, I want to buy a laptop this year and am considering a MacBook solely on the back of it being able to run Windows and OSX. Here's my question; apart from the price, is there any disadvantage of running XP on a Mac as opposed to a real PC laptop? Things I want to know specifically about are; -Application compatibility? (Games, drivers etc etc) -Hardware access? (Would Windows & apps run as fast as on a PC of equal specs) -Partitioning / drive consumption (Does the XP installation take up more space on the disc or anything like that) If I made this purchase it would be like having a Windows laptop with OSX as a bonus really, and since some folks swear by Final Cut Pro and Motion. What do you all think? Good idea or not?

It's an unfair comparison, but I agree with DDR. Ironic then that GH3 and DDR Universe were released around the same time here and for the same price, and yet I bought GH3.

I miss Red Alert 2. I also hope they do justice to this sequel but that trailer has left me with a sickly feeling.

Anyone had any issues? I can at least comment on the memory usage part of the performance improvement- it seems a lot better. The memory leakage was my main beef with Firefox.. so far so good.

Why were you surprised they got Jet Li? His profile isn't very high. Also, as much as I love the Mummy series, this is going to blow. There is a screenplay floating around... legit... and just plain awful. Check the IMBd boards and you'll get the tone of the arguments why this is going to suck.
