If you buy a 360, unless you're pretty well off you're likely to stick with the 360 for most of this generation, and not buy both until they're really cheap (many years from now). Same goes for the PS3.\ If you get a Wii however, you're still pretty likely to buy either a 360 or a PS3 at some point. Just for that reason I don't think it affects the balance so much.

Cautious optimism When I bought my 360 I knew it would get me into trouble with Jap fighters somewhere down the line. Hey you up for some VF5?
-
Yeh but most of them only have a real market in Japan and there the 360 isn't even a consideration... I think they'd come out for the PS3 there for certain, and may get an American PS3 release later. But I'm sure it's gonna be 50/50 as to whether they bother with an Xbox port.
-
My worries are about them coming out on the 360. If they don't, fat chance of me playing them any time soon. SF4 is almost a given on the Xbox, but whether we see VF5R, KOFXII are less certain. Tekken 6 and BlazBlue are almost certainly not coming out on the 360, at least not this year.
-
Only in theory. Given the high costs of game development and the added risks of publishing across 2 different platforms rather than 1 big one with a guaranteed audience across all demographics... and I expect people will take less risks in game design. More sequels = better games... I think not. So rather than getting fresh new ideas you're more likely to get Halo 4,5 and 6 and MGS 5,6 and 7. Same old crap battling it out over who has the better graphics and thus which system is better. It's going to get real old real fast.

This is terrible. More than anything I want a single platform, and no, the Wii doesn't count. One of the 2 big consoles needs to really dominate the other. At the start of this generation I was banking on the PS3 so hard that it really took it tanking so badly in '07 to turn me away from that camp. The 360 leading wasn't ideal but now that it's ahead I'd much rather it dominate than the 2 platforms become even. Them being even in sales will only create more difficult choices for the consumer and so I want one (I wouldn't care which except that I now own a 360) to have a clear lead and become the platform of choice. Expect to see the console 'war' and exclusivity deals piss a lot of people off over the coming years than they had in the last generation.

King of Fighters XII AOU`08 Trailer
BlackKnight replied to Wizard's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Is there any official release of the trailer yet? Say in really good quality? -
Yeh the issue of shipping a title incomplete with the intention of adding a few things down the track and extracting money each time is a whole other thing...

Fatal Rose's 'The Art of Seduction'
BlackKnight replied to BlackKnight's topic in Men's Corner [/swag]
Possibly. I think having nothing to do with them works best. -
Remember you're talking to someone who thinks T6 is practically T5.6. I also laugh at other fighting game updates- I just made a thread in SPAM about GGXX^C+ and what a joke that is. You can't say VF updates are as good as new games because other fighting series put little to no effort into sequels. I agree with you on that point. I'm saying in the wider view of things a new VF or a new fighting game in any series for that matter is like taking pathetic baby steps forward and not really changing anything. On expansion packs, 2 new characters and a quest mode barely qualifies. I say that's a patch, not an expansion pack. Again, the content just isn't there. Just because you're able to squeeze every last drop of satisfaction from the VF4Evo additions does not make them significant ones in any grander sense.
-
I don't think so. I don't even think they have enough in them to be considered 'expansion packs'. Wow, you have no idea what you are talking about. You obviously have not played VF4/VF4 evo. Said like a true VF fan. No matter how you slice it, there isn't enough content to call it a new game. It's as simple as that. Getting into whether updates between VFs themselves are too minor and incremental to even be called new games themselves is another issue, but you can probably guess how I feel on that topic too.

I recommend the M3DS Real over the R4DS. The price is comparable, but the M3 Real has better features the most important of which is the ability to use memory over 4Gb in size. The Real is just newer than the R4- that is the only reason more people don't have it / don't recommend it- it is superior in every way.

OT ALERT More pictures please?

Upgrade via Live plz?

I stand by my notion that the motion and movement in SF4 is what makes it look badass. Personally I think more and more that this is the perfect visual style for the game each time I see it. I can't wait.

King of Fighters XII AOU`08 Trailer
BlackKnight replied to Wizard's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Thanks for posting. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for this, and hoping I didn't miss it (been kinda preoccupied lately). -
Agreed. Or at least bring in more familiar faces before introducing these shallow new designs. Oh and SF1 too. I'm hooked on my Eagle. Retsu not so much but I don't like any of the other SF ninja types. I don't count Vega as a ninja so yeh..
-
What are you talking about Ian? What's with the first names all of a sudden?! Well not that I'm in favour of it but it's not quite all of a sudden...
-
On the good side, it's got Udo Kier (aka Yuri) in it. That's all I can think of. And yes he directed it.
-
How do you figure it would be too expensive?
-
Turok is fun. Just started though. DMC4 is boring me to tears and it's only misson 12. I wholeheartedly regret buying it.

Is it to late for me to place a bet on this landing on the PS3 sometime as well?

Australian PM Kevin Rudd says 'sorry', is a dickhead
BlackKnight replied to BlackKnight's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Worse things have been done in that past. The point here is, what difference does an apology make? Everyone knows it happened- it is not as though previous governments denied it. Saying sorry is not their responsibility though. As was said earlier, everyone who did it and almost everyone who had it done to them is now dead. Saying 'sorry' now opens a can of worms for no good reason. Another thing people don't know; the forceful relocation of children wasn't just done to Aborigines; white kids from various classes in England were removed from their parents and placed down under as well. Why has that never been a topic for apology? -
Its kinda sad that such a bad new character still gets me excited simply because its actually a new Street Fighter.
