well my thoughts were right, he updated drivers and emu so now you can use the 30 updated roms well so far that i tried, i ran into a prob with 3 count bout as its asking for different c roms yet my version is the same mame 82 looks for also it says my kotm2 has a v2 file too big yet again it matches mame 82 dat info

well theres a new version out and from what i read it has updated some neogeo drivers but he didn't mention which but i'm guessing its the 30 roms that got updated a few months back or some other hacks/plus versions of roms. also was anyone able to get the source for 5-31?

wel if he's buying one chances are he'll get a 1.4/1.5 which can't use that switch method so it really depends on whether you really care for xbox live. yes he can get a reburbished xbox or used but i highly suggest you get a new one since with reburbs they only replace parts that are needed and used is used (last thing you want is to get stuck with a crappy thomson that dies a week or 2 later)

just to note: 1. ps2 dvds/cds can be copied from the pc using your own dvd-rom where xbox discs are unreadable in a pc so you have no other choice but to ftp the files to the pc 2. ps2 has 2 media players: ps2reality is the free player you can d/l but its limited to playing only divx,xvid and mp3's; gameshark media player is an update to another media player out a while ago called qcast and this media player allows you to stream from pc to ps2 just like xbox's media player but xbox media player has a lot more to offer then any of the media player out for ps2.

well i tested both sets out in fba-xxx and just like HK$ mentioned, it gives me a bank error the thing that annoys me (which will be fixed in the next version) is when trying to get the normal bios or even the debug bios to run it but the damn thing boots with uni-bios

ign has said ninja gaiden 2 is a go but won't come out for a while

well i and others still haven't found a way for fba to use more then one m1 (whatever you have first in the driver will load) so basically all you need is just one m1 untill we ever find out how to use 2 of them properly

chances are you missed it, sorry. a guy posted saying he got it incomplete which happens to some ppl. also there was a minor error on the disc: when choosing intellivision to will boot to adamx (colecovision). the emu is there, he only made an error in the inx file so you can either fix it by extracting the disc and then edit the inx file or use the dash/app to list the contents of the disc and open the xbe of the emu

i already sent him some of the files he needed and told him that even tho the crc doesn't match, it works fine in fba-xxx

well i'm set, i found patches for the v1/2 for the encrypted set now just need the m1 but that won't be a real use in fba anyway

the ps2 version is arcade perfect since the arcade is based off ps2 hardware dunno what you were seeing but i do know xbox version defintiely does have slowdown, just play on the inferno stage

can't tell ps1 from ps2? lol you're nuts. each system has their own power that does what it does and ps2 has been a great system to this day and still has games that xbox or gc won't have (metal gear solid 3, gran turismo 4, jak3, rachet & clank 3, sly cooper 2, and grand theft auto: san andreas). for you to say that gran tursimo is a poor racing game means you can't play the game and no xbox racing game has come close to what gt's series has done and if you haven't seen gt4, man. i would agree that some xbox versions of games look better but looks aren't everything, for some games ppl will perfer the other system for their controller (take ssx for example where the game was made for ps2 was then passed on to other consoles but feels best on ps2). other case is where something based on different hardware that xbox couldn't do better (metal gear solid 2 for xbox couldn't do the same effects as ps2; soul caliber 2 has slowdown where the ps2 version doesn't (mind you, the game was made on ps2 arcade hardware). xbox for me has been more used as a media player and for emulators as most xbox games don't really get me going unless someone wants to play on lan or multiplayer party at home either with real friends or on a lan/xbl but xbl will cost you and you need a credit card (something most ppl wanna avoid using unless they really want flyer miles ) so , basically i'll put it this way: xbox: great for modding to allow you to add emus/apps and makes and awesome media player. while it does have games, most are on ps2 as well except those that get ported from the pc which are fun for multiplayer ps2: definitely has plenty of games while the mod for it is only to allow backups/imports there is a media player and some emus but they aren't the best. also online gaming for ps2 is free once you buy the adapter (you only pay for online rpg's) unlike xbl just notice your dvd player comment and i can tell you that both consoles aren't great as dvd players as is and even xbox can't play all dvd's out (ign made a nice list).
