My point exactly, in the end, if you care about updating your MUGEN, you'll always visit author's sites regularly for updates anyway. My main problem here is that, you can't just go googling for MUGEN developers instantly. It's they were all put in a list of sites at least, it would be so much easier.

Am I the only one here that's trying to suggest ways of bypassing that crap? C'mon people, put some backbone into it.

Believe it or not, this is the thread I was searching for hehe... Too bad ZiNc was great in its day. Now back on topic, is MAME++ better at running the games ZiNc runs now? And is it still being updated?

What exactly is that cabinet? Does it run Windows or something? Sorry for the silly questions but I just can't see where or how'd you'd fit that many games and into what? And on top of it all, I don't really see why you guys like cabinets that much. To me they're just a gigantic waste of space. A proper games collection should be on a DVD or something, ccompanied by a perfectly optimized emulator, ready to be run on a PC at a moment's notice.

NGBC will always surpass any CVS. Although I did change my opinion about CVS2 the last couple of days. It's nice but nothing special in the end. Most character stories (and most Tekken veterans will agree) are retardedly stupid. you just have to look past that and enjoy the cahracters fighting/play style. Actually I'll have to disagree as I've read most of the roster's stories and they're not idiotic at all... And unlike you, I actually enjoy stories and don't see them as an obstacle.

yeah me neither, that's why I was asking. but I wouldn't back up a game that also has addons installed over it really. I mean, some addons screw the first game's campaign or change gameplay so I'd install addons or expansions separately.

it's not just that, it's also including the patches into an installation so that the installation installs the latest version of a game or so that it also installs the extra content, and also I'd like to know how to merge multiple-CD installations into one installation.

Usually when I play an adventure or RPG like KOTOR I play it in very few sittings. Like Defiance which I started yesterday and finished today. On the other hand RPGs like Final Fantasy take me a month or so... because I just have to get 200% out of those kinda games...

How do you guys preserve your old PC games? I've been having an idea for a very long time now and I need some help with it. Ok so basically, I take a game, and I update it to the latest patch, and I merge all the CDs it was on into one installation. I might also include downloaded content from fan sites like mods, maps, walkthroughs, no-CD patches etc. depending on the game. Then I burn it onto a DVD compilation. What tools would I need to do those things?

How the heck did you know? its Guiness and Paracider. It's mixed together to create "Snake Bite". Didn't know they served that outside England. Snake Bite I mean. Guiness is like awesome on its own as well. My personal recored before hugging the throne was 14 pints
