Still holding the high score for Joust since day one........when is someone going to provide me with some competition? -
1Emulation Shirts NON-PROFIT SALE!.. And CONTEST!
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in 1Emulation.com Information [/info]
Buy a Mug then, even though it's not on non-profit sale. There are always exceptions. I'd love to, but I'm not spending money on something I'll never use, even if it is to help out the site. The only thing that even remotely interests me are the ball caps, MAYBE one of those Teddy Bears they have (Are those available on 1Emu's shop?) with the right design on it's little shirt for my daughter. The prices on that site are also very steep, have you thought of looking elsewhere for this kind of service? I'd NEVER pay $17 USD for a T-shirt, not even if it was gold plated. -

Get a fullback ballcap available in sizes (One size fits all stretchy crap sucks ASS!) and I'll buy one. The current ones look neat, but I hate open backed adjustable caps with a passion. I'm not interested in shirts and stuff, I don't do logos or pictures/wording of any kind on my clothing. -

Corrupt EPROM (SRAM, w/e the DS carts use)? It's probably gonna suck, but erase all save data from the cart and then give it a go.

Namco Bandai Offical in North America
ken_cinder replied to Wizard's topic in Gaming and Tech News [/gtech]
Yay! Maybe now that means we'll stop seeing Power Rangers, Tamagotchi and a whole bunch of other retarded anime based games n stuff? Why the heck would a great company like Namco want to merge with a half assed company like Bandai? -
My New Years Resolution was to become a porn star........wife put the kibosh on it.

A little tip for anyone who suspects an intrustion of any type that zombie's your PC. (Trojan etc) If you suspect an intrusion, but theres currently no way of scanning for it (No AV db entry for it yet etc......) Theres a simple way to tell that something isn't right. First off, check your running processes. If you see something that wasn't there and you're pretty sure it really doesn't belong.......kill it. Even if you kill a system critical process (btw Windows won't allow this anyway, you're denied access to kill a critical process even as an Admin) the worst that will happen is you restart your machine......whuppee. Secondly: Close all processes that make use of a network connection (Local AND remote and this includes web browsers, just because nothing is loading doesn't mean theres no open connection!) and open a command prompt and run "NETSTAT" (Without the quotes). If you have nothing running that makes active use of your connection(s) you won't get any results back except for 1 or 2 localhost entries (Loopback, ignore entirely). Possibly the only thing would be your clock synchronizing with a time server at that time, or other windows processes doing similar tasks. 2 critical things to look for in NETSTAT are foreign addresses marked with "FTP" and "HTTP". If you've got nothing running, and you see a foreign address tagged with either (Especially FTP) you could have a problem. Alot of trojans tend to install an FTP server in the background that goes unnoticed. Again, with the clock syncronizing thing, an HTTP entry could be related to this........but when in doubt, do a DNS lookup on the entry. As for dealing with a suspected intrusion, you can always block an address with a firewall, or if you can locate the process responsible, you can get rid of it (In safe mode or booting from a DOS disk)

Has this site been really slow for anyone else?
ken_cinder replied to Gryph's topic in Suggestions Box [/feedback]
It's ass slow 75% of the time I come here. So slow that sometimes it takes upwards of 10 minutes to load a page! -
Nope, it defaults to Digital Only. Try it, open the gamepad config and hit "Default" And why stick with digital only when you have an analog pad? I use my Dual Shock PS1 pad, why would I stick to Digital Only?
-
Is it really a good idea to use that bios though? I know it's being used in an emulator, but I'm sure that Sony implemented added protections in the PSOne. Are they completely ignored by emulators, or does it actually pose a problem?

Use LiLo (I'm pretty sure almost all distros come with LiLo, if not GRUB). GRUB however is terminal, and not as nice looking as LiLo

What files do you delete from Dynasty warriors 5
ken_cinder replied to SF2MJ's topic in XBOX Hacks [/xbox]
And, 4706074624 bytes = 4595776KB = 4488MB = 4.38GB, not 4.7. Same sh!t, different pile. -
The game itself is telling you that? Then you need to change the controller config in ePSXe. Theres a dropdown box that lets you choose from these options. Digital Only Digital/Analog Digital/Analog Mouse T0 Digital/Analog Mouse T1 Digital/Gun Digital/Mouse Disabled

Allstars #1 Never indicates which region their games are from (PAL btw for almost all), #2 Has most of their releases nuked by release sites #3 NEVER documents anything properly in their NFOs. Oh and btw, you're STILL wrong when it comes to DVD capacity. 4.7GB is not the true capacity of a blank DVD. 4483MB is the EXACT writeable area on a blank without overburn. 4483MB is 4.38GB. Disc manufacturers get away with this because #1 They calculate as 1000MB = 1GB #2 They don't factor in the space used by LI/LO/FSO (LeadIn, LeadOut and Filesystem Overhead). It's the same marketing gimmick as used by hard drive manufacturers, and in the realm of communications technology using bits instead of bytes to confuse the consumer.........and it should be made against the law, as it really is false advertising. Oh and heres an NFO from a release made by a non scener at a site I go to. DYNASTY WARRIORS 5 ================== Platform: XBOX Region: NTSC Languages: English only Format: DVD5 Ripped: Only Japanese Language Audio was zeroed out Description: This is my first torrent and release, inspired by the crappy release from ALLSTARS that had almost every single movie ripped out. It takes the original release from the NTSC ALLSTARS release, and combines it with the movie files in the PAL version released by eliteweb, combined, then the Japanese Audio files zeroed out, then repacked and tested into a great, FULL NTSC release THE WAY IS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE THE FIRST PLACE!!! NO MOVIES HAVE BEEN RIPPED FROM THIS RELEASE!!! Enjoy... Trust me here, ALLSTARS rips are a waste of your discs. Stop downloading them! -
Gamecube Emulator (Real)
ken_cinder replied to Shibathedog's topic in Wii & GameCube Emulators [/pc/wii+gc]
What the evil bump! Read through the thread and take a look at the emulator homepage (Link is right in the first post). There was no need for you to bump such an ancient topic to ask this question. FYI, just incase you don't feel like looking. No Gamecube emulators are really worth bothering with right now, the only commercial game that runs at a playable speed in Dolphin is still Bust a Move 3000. I'm locking this thread so there are no more silly bumps to it. -
Theres a thread right below yours about the exact same problem, and it will help you. Please look around first next time or use the search.

Uggh flash, I'm so sick of the abuse of flash on the internet. It should be used for content ONLY, not as part/all of a website.

Duhh probably because the release you downloaded was already downsized to DVD5. The original game is a DVD9 well over 4.48GB (DVD-Rs aren't 4.7GB btw, damn media manufacturers and their 1000mb = 1GB crap) -
On that note, GoodGen v3.00 was released earlier today. I can't provide a download link, as the only one I have requires registration, and is on Cowering's site.....which doesn't need a flood of n00bs asking stupid questions. Bust out Google, and hopefully theres something.......

Yes, but not WITHIN the same source. For example emulator A has it's ARM9 core written in ASM, and emulator B has it's ARM9 written in C.......this is a huge hurdle. But if emulator A has it's GUI written in ASM, you could bring that over into emulator B and replace emulator B's C GUI with it. This all provided the source is clean and seperate for each piece (Which is how most programmers work), it would require modification....but far less than trying to combine a complete ASM project with a complete C project. That would require a lot of rewriting. I don't know what languages each respective emulator is programmed in, my interest in the DS is minimal.

Biggest Entertainment gripes of 05
ken_cinder replied to solidius23's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Quake 4 was a huge letdown, it's barely better than Quake 2 in gameplay. I find Serious Sam 2 to be very fun as it's not intended to be huge on gameplay elements, it's main focus is comical value. In the movies realm, I ONLY download movies now because of the huge suckage factor with movies these days. It's hard to find a good movie. I also don't go to theatres because you can't ever watch a movie there without people talking or goofing around. I find myself wanting to punch people out. Music, all music these days blows. There were too many good games this year to list, BUT there was also alot of shovelware garbage as well. I'd have to say a rather balanced year for the industry, but far short of being a good year overall. -
Only 1:30pm here, I plan on going to sleep early. Theres nothing special about New Years to me, just another day.

I wonder if the color matches the leaves ontop of the tree.

Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt gets ingame now. Unfortunately the 3D capabilities of the emulator don't seem to be advanced enough yet, the only thing I can see onscreen is some polys, the HUD (It's garbled btw) and occasionally Samus' arm cannon. Also theres a problem with the control calibration. I can tell that Samus moves forward and to the left without me doing anything, pressing keys right+down only slows this down so the calibration must be WAY off. The touchscreen is also not functioning, I can't fire Samus' arm cannon. The only other ROM I have is Super Mario 64 DS, and it doesn't run. Although unlike the previous version of iDeaS, it doesn't crash the emulator either.
