An application has to support multithreading. Any application that can make use of more than one processor, or more than one machine (A rendering farm for instance......) falls in this category.
-
Problem solved by not using WMP........there are plenty of better alternatives out there. Media Player Classic being one.

You can still use the wireless router for internet..........I think you're missing the point here. The VoIP router will simply be a router.......for the router.

/me doesn't remember no fake links or trick votes of any kind. I don't recall if there were popup ads, but I know there were too many banners and the URL redirection thing is the most annoying thing I have ever seen.

A dual core Intel CPU with Hyperthreading would easily smoke (And I mean SMOKE) any AMD CPU on the market right now in certain application situations. For multimedia uses, Intel's CPUs are still far out infront of AMDs. A dual core CPU with Hyperthreading is 2 CPUs capable of handling 2 software threads simultaneously per core. Thats 4 threads at a time. For things that can make use of it, like alot of video editing software, 3d modeling software etc.......an AMD CPU is far from the best choice. It's quite apparant however, if you're a gamer........AMD has the goods. There are currently ZERO multithreaded games on the market. People don't seem to realize there is more to everything than you read in biased reviews in magazines and websites, they'd rather just be big fat fanboys who know nothing more about a product, than it's name. TOMS HARDWARE SUCKS!

Some Major Forum Changes Today!
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in 1Emulation.com Information [/info]
Let us know when everything is in place. From what I see as of now, we'll have to do some shuffling of threads into other forums so they're in the right place. Will take care of my respective forums that I'm responsible for......but don't want to do any of that until everything is in place. -

Tsunamis and Earthquakes in Asia, many Hurricanes in the Caribbean and US..........mother nature is trying to tell the world something. "Fux OFF!" We had an earthquake here a few days ago, that measured 4.5. I live in Southern Ontario FFS! I've NEVER felt an earthquake before in my life!

weird disconnecting prob dealing with my router
ken_cinder replied to Prican25's topic in Nerd's Chatter [/nerds]
If you mean hooking the router up to the hub via the uplink port, it should work.....in theory. It's just like hooking up your cable/dsl modem in that way, and having multiple machines be assigned unique IP adresses. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that it should work. -
weird disconnecting prob dealing with my router

The problem with ICS is that alot of things don't work properly without a direct connection to the internet. This is also the case with routers too, but you can remedy that easier with a router. I run a dual hub setup. 2 network cards in every machine that is connected to the internet. One hub is a 10mbit hub with my cable modem hooked up to the uplink port. The other hub is internal LAN only. This not only allows each machine direct internet access, but also segregates my internal network from it. A far more secure setup when each machine is configured properly, than any router/firewall can provide. Ryuken: Turning your computer ON and OFF all the time is like starting a car over and over. It's worse for it than leaving it on for days, even weeks at a time. My machines are always on, and my primary box has only ever been shut off for hardware upgrades, cleaning etc. -
This is a Cocoa port of QEmu, the official QEmu site is http://www.qemu.org/ with QEmu's primary target being emulation on Linux.

Mame.dk didn't "get" shut down. They closed up shop because it was costing FAR too much money to run. Tim could only wish he had that much power.........
-
Could we maybe get some more elaboration on "what" some of these more uncommon emulators are when news is posted on them? I have no idea what JEmu is, and I'm sure alot of others reading the posts on the front page have no idea too. Not harping on you, but I sure go "huh" when I read these. Not having a clue what the emulator is and all.......

It's not just his behaviour, but his sad attempt at exploiting the scene for financial gain. Now he's not the first or only person to do so, but his methods were at times bold and outrageous.

Sony's Latest PSTwo Revision has Problems
ken_cinder replied to Wizard's topic in Gaming and Tech News [/gtech]
Not surprising to see issues on any Sony hardware. They're cutting too many corners and have been for years. I hope (For those buying one, cause I sure ain't) that the PS3 has more durable/reliable hardware. I'm sick of hearing about people having to replace their PS2's due to drive failures etc, dead pixels on PSP screens etc. You shouldn't have issues with a piece of hardware when it's still a current generation piece, period. -
I know the rest of you enjoy the community etc, but it's well known to many how much I dislike Timmah! Glad to see him go, he's a disgrace to the emulation scene.

If you're currently running the VoIP behind the router, try putting the router behind it instead. For instance, you have this setup. Modem > Router > VoIP + PC(s) Move the VoIP up, and it will have physical priority. Modem > VoIP > Router > PC(s) You may or may not be able to do this, but I think you can. If your VoIP box is a router, and has 2 ports, you should be able to do it. This MAY still be bottlenecked if you have a really crappy upload cap, but in that case use Netlimiter on the PCs and limit their upload a bit.
-
QoS is for nothing more than reserving bandwidth for backgrounds processes in windows to make use of (Like Windows Update when run automatically). This in itself is utterly stupid, and you should disable QoS. What you're looking for is a bandwidth limiter on the kernel level. Get Netlimiter P.S. You can crack it you know.......

Too much to take pictures of right now, maybe later, but I'll describe. In my entertainment center (which is 8'Lx5'Hx2'D, solid cherry) is my 27" TV where my Gamecube finds itself tucked beside. On the shelves behind a glass door from top to bottom is my stereo on shelf 1, VCR with Dreamcast ontop on shelf 2 and Xbox on shelf 3. A large cabinet which is 2/3 the length in the bottom contains my Sega Saturn and my N64, the other cabinet is the other 1/3 and contains all my extra junk like controllers, light guns etc. Then theres my computer desk.......the mess lol L shaped desk, a 17" monitor and a 15" monitor on it with 3 PC towers on the floor (1 in the process of being fitted with drives, for my mother)....and a mess of MY LIFE! Pictures "may" follow later...........

I'll second your warm factor, but I'll raise you a snowball in the face. Thats the ONLY good part about winter, hitting people in the face with snowballs. Everything else is teh suck!

Here's the weather where I am right now. http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/busi...=search_current It's quite off though, it's actually 45 degrees Farenheit.

It's just called an AV Switch or Selector. You can get ones that support S-Video as well (Like mine).

So what the hell is your favorite season? Indoors!

Psshaw......come join me and K up here in Canada. I love seeing US news where people are all like "OMG! We're snowed in!" and theres barely any snow. Anyway.........I hate winter, but I also hate summer. Too cold and too hot respectively.
