  1. Psst The Pirate Bay is located in Sweden, which as of July 2005 changed it's laws on copyrighted material etc. Soon enough the owner of that site won't be laughing and mocking law firms anymore..........
  2. When you're like me and strip out as much of the sh!t that Windows ships with and replace it with 3rd party stuff (Right from the shell to major apps), it doesn't matter what version of Windows you're running as long as stuff like DX updates are available for it. I could be running Windows 98 right now and be just as well off as I am with XP.......save for the instability I won't touch Vista with a 10 foot pole, EVER, not with all the DRM and Sandbox'ing SH!T it's going to come with. I'm sticking with XP as long as I can, then it's 100% Linux for me. Right now I tri-boot 2k/XP/Mandrake and spend most of my time using XP only because of games.
  3. I keep hearing on the radio (on more than one station) how this movie sucks really bad. Can't say the trailers they're showing on TV have me interested..........at all.
  4. You'll need the eeprom backed up from both Xboxes and mini linux distro specifically for messing with HDs called XboxHDM. What you'll need to do is unlock the HD on your PC and disable the security on it (Done simply by unlocking it with XboxHDM), then you would lock the drive back up using the new eeprom so it matches up with the new Xbox. Thats the simple answer, in it's simplest form. Check out the tutorials at http://www.xbox-scene.com for more in-depth information. If you have a modchip though (and not some cheapmod) this isn't an issue. With my X3 I'm well aware I can just throw in another drive and get working.
  5. Ah, okay, thanks for that correction! In that case, Microsoft could still repeat its mistakes by creating another super-powerful but super-costly console in the Xbox 360. They are, and are expected to take a loss on each system at the start (Though much smaller than the Xbox). Sony's going to have one hell of a time selling to anyone but their hardcore userbase though, and they're expected to lose even more money on hardware than MS did with the Xbox. I don't know about you, but even if I wanted one (Which I don't) I wouldn't shell out nearly a grand for a PS3. Bite my ass Sony.
  6. Err the losses on hardware are due to the cost of manufacturing the system, it has nothing to do with consumer base, which btw the Xbox holds the #2 spot for. Nintendo is #3 with less Gamecubes sold.
  7. I guess my lack of emoticons made it seem like I was serious.
  8. Read the story then. He was spying for opposition government in the Phillipines. That may not be all however.
  9. Mario sells..........period. Some people may be getting sick of it, but others aren't. Every system has it's flagship, Nintendos is Mario. I will however give you that they are putting him in WAY too many games that aren't fitting. Mario Superstar Baseball is really fun though, I totally enjoy it.
  10. *Saves screenshot of it to use in the future to make fun of GC* U R n00b!
  11. How can you have the highest suicide rate over there? I mean c'mon, the Scandinavian region is the land of the uber fast broadband. If anyone should be commiting suicide the most, it should be us North Americans that are taking it up the hoop for money and getting ass-slow speeds in exchange. That or the Australians who pretty much pay lots and get as close to nothing in return as possible. To make my point here, if I had to go back to 56k.........I'd run into the street and play with the moving cars before that ever happened.
  12. If the game has CDDA music, just rip the PAL copy to ISO+WAV and the NTSC one rip an ISO of the data track you have and replace the PAL one with it. Then use Sega Cue Maker and you're done.
  13. Moved to PC Technical Help due to the technical nature of the thread.
  14. This is supposed to be the HOT chicks thread dammit.
  15. Arcade games = Multiple methods, usually my PSX pad, sometimes MS Sidwinder......mouse and keyboard for shooting games. NES + SNES + GB/GBA = SNES pad on LPT adapter I built (This is VERY simple btw) Playstation = Duh, PSX pad Genesis = MS Sidewinder (Closest you can get to the real thing) Anything else usually finds me with the PSX pad, but it depends. If I was to use an arcade stick for arcade games though, I'd build a real one. PC Joysticks are ass for ANYTHING but flight sims.
  16. They own the software, period. And yes, corporate pressure......but on the consumer, to go out and buy XP. If you can't have a setup program configure your connection for you on 98, your ISP is going to tell you "We can provide you with this for Windows XP", and if you're not smart enough.......what are you going to do? Go buy a copy of Windows XP, all just to setup your internet connection that you could otherwise do manually. The thing is, almost all broadband connections these days require NO installation whatsoever. You just plug crap in and it works. DHCP.......Plug n' Play, even on Windows 98. When I signed up for the DSL I have now, they were trying to tell me I MUST buy their software package (An extra $49!) to get my internet connection setup on here. After multiple attempts I just looked at the lady and said, "Do you know what Linux is? Your stupid software won't even run on it, and I do NOT need it" She shut right up.
  17. I'm with STUFF here, and he's not being racist........give it up! Dating Sims, when do you see these in other markets? Pretty much NEVER..........NUFF FUXING SAID!
  18. At this point in time, if you've had a previous internet connection and you STILL can't set it up manually.........you need to stay the hell off the internet, as theres too many dummies on it already.
  19. A solution like Gamecube mods use would fit the bill. An ISO9660 browser and the ability to load binaries from outside the root. The problem here is, even modded.......the PSX will not allow this to happen. (I've been doing me some reading here) Forget about it now..........forget about it ever.
  20. If you're trying to put more than one game on a CD for use in a modded PSX, forget about it. There is no method for this AFAIK. If you want em on one disc for use in an emulator, just burn the CD image files as a plain ol' data disc and load them off the CD.
  21. The only thing I know of is Nitro, and it's in pretty early stages.
  22. You are confusing things. They're telling you to get the Premium package because it comes with the HD, which you must have for backwards compatibility with Xbox games. If you get the core package, the HD costs you $100 on it's own.........ripoff. You don't require seperate HDs, you just can't play Xbox games without one.
  23. EVERY copy of Windows XP contains an Alexa registry key, it's nothing on the scale of full fledged spyware mind you, but it's still present.......for whatever reason.
  24. Ebay........Dreamcast....$20 give or take........no copy protection in the hardware. Why use Chankast?
