  1. What did I say? He'd get off on all the charges. If you are rich and/or famous in the US, you can get away with anything........ANYTHING. This has been proven time and time again.
  2. I wouldn't either, not when I could buy a nice used car for the same fscking ammount of money!
  3. Was considering it, but +Rs seem to work just fine for the most part. After using this on these 2 games, they work perfectly.
  4. Nice guess Mr. Plasma screen TV /me beats you and steals TV
  5. Ok so I decided to give one of the many image tools out there a try to see if they could fix some games I couldn't get to work for the life of me. Oddly enough Super Mario Sunshine would only run off one of my slightly scuffed DVD+RWs, but not a brand new DVD+R.....super wierd! Ran FSTFix on the image with NO options, just default settings. Burned it, BAM! Worked perfect. Next up Super Monkey Ball 2, I wasted 2 friggin discs on this little bastard, and it wouldn't work on my RW like SMS did. Ran FSTFix on it with default options (None) and hey, no workie. Fine, so I wasted another disc, big deal. I'll give it a go with the "Align 32k" option enabled. Again, BAM! Works like a charm. Obviously this tool works pretty well, but it'd be nice if it was able to detect whatever was wrong with the image and then fix it. That way you wouldn't waste ANY discs. I'm going to attach the latest version of this program for anyone who wants it (v1.5f....I believe it's the latest) If you're having DRE issues whereby your game won't even start, I REALLY reccomend giving this a shot. If you're having DRE issues other places or lockups, I can't say if this will help you, but you might as well try and see anyway. FSTFix_v1.5f.rar
  6. If you own hardware like that, and you don't know........you don't deserve to be owning it. Gimme! Give to someone with a clue!
  7. You know, after thinking about it. I REALLY hope the PS3 is only HDTV capable. Theres enough idiots out there who'll go out and buy an HDTV because of it, driving the cost of HDTVs down big time for the rest of us. Rock on with the PS3tardation if thats the case!
  8. PS3 HDTV exclusive? I doubt it, that would instantly sink it, seeing as 90% of people do not own HDTVs. Also making it a good move on Nintendo's part to keep costs down. HDTV is still not a standard people, as it's FAR too expensive!
  9. I'd feel like such a fuxing dork wearing a helmet to play my video games. "Don't forget to wear your red hockey helmet on the short bus, ya retard!"
  10. Further update I decided, that like getting my Dreamcast to read CD-RWs, I may need to give the laser in my Cube a little tweaking to make things work better and get rid of the DRE problem as much as possible. Well, I did.....after reading this thread. I tweaked it to around 215, as I couldn't get it to remain steady inside of 185-215 and 185 just didn't work even on retail games. No more DREs on any game thus far, I can't however get the copy of Wind Waker I have to work at all, I'm thinking it's a bad rip. It was a Starcube rip, and so is the copy of Wave Race Blue Storm I have, which has had that stupid friggin audio fix done to it, luckily the audio fix in the Qoob bios works, and corrects it PERFECTLY. Methinks Starcube sucks, at least back when these were ripped, because they appear to have messed around too much with both rips, and 1 works incorrectly, the other not at all. Edit: Wow! After posting this, I decided I'd try the DVD+RW copy of Metroid Prime 2 I originally made (just to see if it would read RW) and it works! Adjusting the pot to this point has made it so DVD+RWs work in my Cube. Awesome!
  11. Update I was finally able to get some backups working. I managed to get a copy of Metroid Prime 2 and R Racing Evolution working on Sony media. I still got a DRE once starting a game in R Racing Evolution, and Metroid Prime 2 locked up on me right in the middle of playing. I think the bios still needs some work, as it can't be the media I'm using now. Oh and another thing, if you burn, use Nero 6.6.0.13 or better! I was using 6.6.0.1 without success, got 6.6.0.13 and now I can at least START playing games, it appears theres just some issues still.
  12. *Scratches head* Ok where to start, I don't do this often. Product packaging and appearance - 9 (Wheres my pretty box?) Everything was as it was said to be, only it came in a plain white box. I had expected the pretty box I see on the Qoobchip.com website, but whatever.......it's just a package. The chip itself is packaged inside a SEALED 3M anti static bag I had to cut open, doesn't that just scream quality and professional? Cables and stuff just came in a plain plastic bag, nothing special needed there anyway. Installation - 8 (Pics could be better as well as written instructions) Only 6 wires, yep only 6 and it couldn't be easier, at least for someone with some soldering skills. I'd have to rank the difficulty of installation as "Intermediate", although not difficult in the least for me, it's no Sega Saturn modchip, it does require you to be quite capeable with an iron. Took me about 20 minutes in total to get it installed, with 10-15 minutes of those 20 being me opening the Gamecube (Really! Thats the aggravating/hard part about it). If you've had experience with anything more complicated than a Saturn mod, this will be a breeze for you. It's nowhere near as aggravating as a 1.6 Xbox LPC rebuild install modchip, but as I said, more than a 2 wire Saturn mod. Operation - 7 (Bios needs a bit of work still and where the hell is the MP3 player? Vaporware?) Worked flawlessly right from the get-go. The bios it ships with is pretty bare and functionally flawed, in that it wouldn't auto-detect my retail copy of Metroid Prime and boot it.........instead I got a DRE if I didn't hold the button for "Boot Original", so you'll want to get it upgraded to the latest one right away. As of right now that is 1.3a. With either version bios, I don't see this MP3 player that is supposedly built in. So much for that I guess. No big deal though, I honestly don't care for it, but it's touted as a feature. Onto the issue of backups! For me, right now........no way jose! I think my media kinda sucks, I had the occasional issue with it on my Xbox. Burnt a copy of Metroid Prime 2 and it gets to the title screen music, but no title screen. Also burnt a copy of R Racing Evolution, and it doesn't get past having the Game ID detected by the bios. Gotta pick me up some better media, and I think it'll work just fine. I did however try out some homebrew stuff by uploading via USB to the flashrom on the modchip. Worked great, but it seems to not load properly unless there is a disc in the drive. Odd...... Conclusion Overall I'd have to say this was a great buy. I just need some better media for backups, and they need to work out a few little quirks in the Bios. By all means get yourself one, but it may take some time before all the issues in the bios are ironed out......keep in mind they ARE minor really.
  13. Hey, chicks with swords in bikinis! TEH WIN!
  14. It's finally here, I just have to go pick it up from the post office. Took awhile, but what can you expect with Regular Air Mail shipping.....from Thailand? More on this when I get back with it and install.
  15. I'm going to be playing video games while I'm in my bed with broken hips and a piss pan TYVM Yelling something like "Super Marioooooooo!" as I die with a controller in my hands as well.
  16. No, not only do I not watch very much TV.......but what do I give a rats ass to watch US news for? I live in Canada lol
  17. Guilty! He's a wierdass pedophile, but because he's famous he's not going to be convicted of a damn thing.
  18. Obtaining as I type this......yeah, I'm buying it.
  19. I didn't notice this at first......but are you sure your dog or even your cat (if you have either) aren't drinking it? My cat gets up on the toilet seat and drinks the water in the toilet, yes only after it's been flushed though. Wierd bastard........
  20. $250 or $220 used? You're from the US.......a brand spankin new Xbox Mech Assault bundle is only $229 in stores here in Canada (Which would be like $199 maybe less USD, and if you shop around online or use Ebay, even more less)......anyway that doesn't matter, I'd rather not fry my Dreamcast's SH4 and play my SNES on my PC in that case.
  21. What in the fork is the purpose of overclocking your Dreamcast besides possibly killing it sooner, when it's only going to get more difficult to find a Dreamcast?
  22. Thats sad....."lowering" the price of 3mbit to $30 USD? I pay $30 CAD for 3mbit DSL, I could be paying the same for 3mbit/3mbit DSL with another company, but I'd have to shell out $200 for one of THEIR modems. No thanks.
  23. I'd have to say at least 60% of Mac users are business minded professionals trying to get the most out of their software for things like video editing, photography etc. Macs currently win hands down when it comes to that sort of thing, but nothing beats a PC for gaming.......and we all know where most of the market share lies in the software market. VIDEO GAMES! Oh, as for the other 40%.......yeah, they are stupid tools who only own a Mac because it looks pretty, costs more (so it MUST be better ya know) and they can read their email on it. Like duh and stuff!
