Chankast Alpha Emulator Compatibilty List
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Thanks for pointing that out.......I never even noticed it. It needs to be removed from the list, because Sonic Heroes is NOT on Dreamcast. Period. -
Can you also not read the date on that? E3 is over.......Sega's big surprise was nothing, no console. OLD NEWS! Thread closed as it's a 3peat and there is no need for this to go any further.

Chankast Utilities: Cheat Finder Results
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
They'll be added in with the next release........and I think Gamecop is making a page on the Chankast Utilities site just for cheats. I've taken the ones people have submitted in here too, and made up files for them to go in with the next release........making sure to give you credit for the ones you made by putting your name (Whoever made the cheat) in the Text= part. (Those of you who posted cheats in here didn't give yourself credit, so I did it for you) -

Auction For Vintage Atari Games And Modem!
ken_cinder replied to ken_cinder's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Nah, I only put the other items (The NON Atari stuff) in the post too cause.........why not? I meant the Atari stuff when I made that 2nd post. Sure I wanna sell em, but 1/2 the reason for this thread was just "show and tell" really. I'd keep em if I still had hardware to use em, but I don't and I can't afford to spend the money buying the hardware I need really. -
Chankast Utilities: Cheat Finder Results
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Made up cheat files for THPS2. Yes I said FILE(S) because there are 244 codes for this game, after about 36 codes, the cheat utility will crash out. I made seperate CHT files for every character in order to get around this. I'm not gonna post the cheats in text form here (It would be HUGE!) Instead I give you a link to a RAR archive containing the cheats.......... here. You're welcome! It took me like 2 hours to do these! -

Not even so much as a comment regarding the items up for sale? Do we have nobody here old enough to know what these items are? -

Someone needs to be updating the original post....... psssst......GAMECOP! -
Guess it fits..........but not quite. The word "loner" is just going to far, I'm a "Lone Wolf" not some lamer who hides in his attic 24/7 and never sees the light of day.

Running Chankast with Speedpig set to increase speed (Remember! The slider is BACKWARDS!), if you minimize it, it WILL affect every other app you run. The thing is though, with Chankast running and speed pig kicking things up a notch, ALOT of memory is used. So doing that and trying to run another emulator or game, just isn't viable at all. (Check out the memory usage by Chankast when you are using speedpig, it's HUGE! Thus if you have a PC without a large ammount of RAM, you could notice hardly anything........or nothing at all)

I'll be nice..... If you'd used the search though, you would have easily found the same link, posted by the same person (me! ) in another thread on these forums.

I've put up 4 auctions on Ebay, 3 are for PC hardware......but the 4th is where the real interest lies........vintage 8 bit Atari computer games and an XM301 modem. Celeron 300 Slot 1 CPU - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3485899865 Pentium II 350 Slot 1 CPU - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3485902807 Asus P5A + K6-2 CPU combo - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3485906612 Now the only reason I'm even posting this thread...... Atari 8 bit cassette/cartridge games and XM301 Modem - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8112032674 If it wasn't for the last item, I wouldn't have even bothered making this thread. But since this site focuses on gaming I figured I better damn well let everyone here know about this.

I want my gaming systems with OPTIONAL ADDONS!!!! I don't want a console that plays DVD movies, period! I have 2 DVD players and a PC for that. I would rather that extra cost go to something new, or nothing at all! Gaming machines and stereo systems/video players don't belong bunched together. I want it for games and ONLY games, if you want it for anything else you can buy addons. Precisely one of the main reason I bought a Gamecube and flipped the PS2 and Xbox the middle finger. (That and Nintendo kicks both their asses and has far more experience.......and it shows in the Gamecube that isn't loaded with extra crap that some people don't want)

No A/V cables yet, I still have to get another order in for a bunch of cables and stuff.

ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in Emulator Releases [/emu]
Well yeah, in games where the emulator has severe slowdown to begin with, it simply just doesn't have a big effect. Where games DO run fullspeed for people with fast systems and the emulator runs it properly is where you will notice huge speed gains. -
Sounds cool, but I think their test subjects were pussies I used to climb into the oven at work to fix things, WHILE it was running........@ 350 degrees, and I could stand staying inside for up to 5 minutes, only then would the fumes get to me not the heat. Of course I came out looking like a lobster, but that went away rather quickly. On people with strong willpower and a high pain tolerance I don't think this thing will be of any use. Your skin doesn't burn at a mere 130 degrees, so it's just a matter of withstanding the pain, easily done if you have the tolerance.

Yep it's good stuff! I will also confirm that this works! I got a 40+ fps increase on average. The only drawback is that this increases the speed on your ENTIRE PC thus throwing the audio out of whack. -

Why wasn't I involved in the beta testing? Where are my perks!? I haven't gotten ANY perks in the entire time I've been here, it's about time I think. hehe -
I got mod chips in my store, cheaper than you'll get em anywhere else. And I just got 90 CR2032 batteries in stock, perfect for your Saturn or a Dreamcast VMU (2 for $1.99! Take that Radio Shack! )

You certainly won't see any done by the known release groups. Do you think they really care? I know you aren't "complaining" here, but if you want a game that isn't missing ANYTHING, go buy it. I don't care that some of my games are missing things that a) I didn't even know should be there to begin with b ) don't affect anything regarding gameplay. Another reason I think nobody will do it, is because it can't be played in a real Dreamcast.......and you would have to burn the image files onto a DVD-R as a Data disc. Pretty damn pointless if you ask me, just to appease people who want the whole thing and aren't willing to pay for it. Games like D2 that haven't been ripped due to size should be now. You should know here, that unlike Alone in the Dark, D2 contains data files that are too large to split over to multiple discs. AITD retail is 2 GDs, and a backup is 4........because they were able to split everything to 2 discs. The same goes for Soldier of Fortune, it was only one disc retail but a backup is 2.

Demand For A Linux-installing Tutorial?
ken_cinder replied to nezumi's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I say do it, just for the sake of people who come here. Partioning and filesystem stuff never gave me any woes. The only problem I ran into was the fact that I had to compile my own kernel module for my video card drivers, the ones that came with my Linux distro would not work, X wouldn't work properly using em. That was a chore and a half, cause I'd never had to compile my own kernel module before. -
There is a movie, and the game is based upon it. The Chronicles of Riddick, is the sequel to Pitch Black. The movie Daredevil just SUCKED. A video game? No wonder it was canned......it probably would have sucked even more than the movie. Making movies from video games, or video games from movies never turn out right.
