  1. The entire rom is still loaded into memory off the CD. It can't be streamed like data can from games designed for such a purpose. This is what makes N64 emulation on the Dreamcast impossible, and SNES emulation difficult.
  2. Happy Birthday! Does it suck having a birthday close to Christmas? Do you kinda get a more split bunch of presents? Today is also my dad's birthday, and it sucks buying presents for him around this time.....because you have to cover his birthday AND Christmas for presents around this time.
  3. The Dreamcast only has 16mb of main memory, limiting what Neo Geo roms can be run on it based on size anyway. Remember, if the rom is larger than 3/4 (approximation) the main memory........there is no chance in hell of it running on the Dreamcast. I would guess SvC is a hefty size rom, but I dislike fighting games so I have no idea. P.S. This belongs in the Dreamcast forum IMO Thread Moved
  4. Update your video card drivers and install the latest version of Direct X.
  5. Not exactly the wrong forum, there is no forum for general Direct Connect issues. However, I'm an OP in Classic Sega. If any you experience difficulties with Classic Sega, try and give me a shout on AIM (Button to contact me right here at the bottom of my post and others) and I'll give you the 411 or help you out.
  6. I believe this thread should be in the Neo Geo section......... Thread Moved
  7. Barnito no longer runs his FTP AFAIK. He shares all his stuff on Direct Connect.
  8. I normally wouldn't ask something like this, especially here, but I've been trying to find them for nearly a year now, and I know they exist. I'm looking for episodes of the TV show "Shadow Raiders", and I've tried many direct connect hubs and on other P2P, as well as googling my *** off. If someone could find these for me it would be much appreciated. I'd buy the 6 DVD's the episodes come on on Ebay, but it would cost me over $100 US, money I don't even have right now as I went back to school.
  9. Hi, I'm like new and stuff......... Wait, no I'm not! Just felt like introducing myself, since I never really did when these forums started up. I'm 22 from Canada and I love the technical side of emulation. (Just seeing what can be accomplished) Favourite emulators are ZSNES, RockNESx, Project64, Gens and ePSXe. I love Action/Adventure games and first person shooters.
  10. Uhh it keeps repeating because your flash settings are set so "Loop" is enabled. lmao
  11. This thing sure is hella strange
  12. This Saturn bootdisc for Dreamcast is a LIE. Do not believe what's told. The Sega Saturn 's hardware consists of inline Hitachi SH2 and Motorola 68000 processors, SPU and graphics blitter. The only thing which is backwards compatible from the Dreamcast is the SH2 CPU's because the Dreamcast uses Hitachi SH4. There is absolutely NO WAY to simply run Saturn games on the Dreamcast ala backwards compatibility, it's totally different hardware. Emulation of the Saturn is also not possible due to the restrictions the Dreamcast hardware imposes in doing so. In short...........no you cannot play Sega Saturn games on the Dreamcast, ever. There are however ports of a few games for the Saturn that are on the Dreamcast.
  13. Meh........Kazaa went to the dogs well over a year ago. It's full of non-sharing n00bs now for the most part. It's no loss for me, I haven't even had Kazaa on my PC for a good 8 months now. Direct Connect ownz j00! (Only DC++ though, NMDC is crap!)

Look at how freakin wide the posts get.
  15. These are multi-part RAR archives, just open the first one with WinRAR and extract the contents. Obviously someone has packed up all the "pieces" from the archive into one solid RAR, which is silly.
  16. I was poking around on Happy Penguin for some games for Linux when I came across this thing. Judging by the screenies, this thing is amazing! Have a look for yourself here P.S. There are binaries available for Windows too according to the website.
  17. Hmm this is a wierd one....... You could try installing a virtual CDROM by way of Daemon Tools and seeing if that works. With the virtual drive, you can also mount the ISO and boot the game like it was an actual CD.
  18. We need a completely new genre of games. The current genres are all washed up re-runs.
  19. Quite simple to download it and see for yourself isn't it? And yes, Mame works in XP. Both DOS and Windows (Mame32) versions. I can't speak for other unofficial releases, and quite frankly.......all those ones are useless. Anywhere you have read complaints about it NOT, are complaints written by people who are doing EVERYTHING wrong, and should be coming HERE to ask for help. hehe
  20. Thanks for the links nezumi, I haven't run any flavour of Linux in at least a good 6 years. Slackware-Live won't work for me, but Knoppix does and I'm typing this message out right now from within KDE on the Konqueror web browser. Great way for me to get used to Linux again, without chopping my hard drive up to put something like Mandrake on again. I didn't even know there were any CD based distro's that contained anything of real use. But Knoppix is LOADED with software.
  21. Thanksgiving is in October here........you strange Americans. But Happy Thanksgiving to you.
  22. Wow! That runs on the NEC PC Engine!? I think you mean "PC". -=Edited=-
  23. MUGEN is a versatile and fully customizable fighting game engine. You can download stage, characters and other things for it to create a fighting game however you like. I've even seen it used to re-create a Ninja Turtles game from the Sega Genesis! As for the links not working, they all do. You seemed to have a problem with the links for getting DC++ as well. Are you behind a firewall or a router? If so you may want to double check your settings on either.
  24. Try reading the pinned threads and the other threads. It's all there and more. And we don't do stuff by way of email here. Thread closed
  25. NeoCD SDL As for the "roms", they aren't "roms". They are cd images, usually in ISO+MP3 format. PlayAgain has some.
