*Holds up pendelum infront of ME!'s face* You will get Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness. You will get Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness. *Put's pendelum down and snaps fingers* Seriously though, both those games rock. You have to at the very least rent them. Though I say screw it and just buy em, you won't be disappointed.

Doesn't matter what Microsoft throws into it, I won't buy it or the current Xbox. IMO it sucks, very few games for it are worth paying for. I hate it's design too. And yes......I have played several titles for it.

You're basic upright cab (Like most of them) doesn't require a tonne of work. Though the detail the guy's have put into the cabs available sure takes some time to do. All the little buttons etc. If you take a look at the Sinistar sitdown one guy made, that would require a good deal of work. As will an AfterBurner II sitdown. I'm no pro with 3ds Max, but I can do it.........will just take time.

To each his own. But I say "blech Phooey". Games my man.....games. Gonna start turning this place into "EmulForums........everything and anything!" Catch my drift?

The NES emulator VirtuaNES has been updated. As the emulator's homepage is in Japanese it's a little hard to tell you what has been updated, but here is what I got from the English download's documentation. v0.73a Addition: --------- Change: ------- Revision: --------- -Correct that Spelunker didn't move. (?) Go get it here.

Installing XP SP1 with a "not so legal" copy of XP
ken_cinder replied to ken_cinder's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
The service pack can be small or big, it depends on what fixes you already have installed etc etc. XP Plus is an add-on for XP, it doesn't contain any system dependant software in it. Just games and stuff like that. -
Yep everything is working perfect now. (If only I could get Modeler to work with it. It doesn't have any command line switches that I know of, only a GUI.) Time to whip out 3d studio max again too. I want an AfterBurner II cabinet (The sitdown one) and it appears nobody has made one. So I'm going to try my hand at making one. Time to go picture hunting, or to the nearest arcade.

Man there is no INI file Mame or Mame32 uses on my computer. All the config files are stored in the CFG folder. (Default.cfg and each game has its own cfg file), and they contain no user readable data. I don't get it. If I don't use the frontend (Like I always have) everything is peachy. If I launch a game from the frontend, I cannot change anything but via keyboard. Strange.
-
I use Mame32 as well. The docs say it works fine. No Mame.cfg file here. Joystick control is enabled though. If I run Mame32 outside of the frontend, all is fine. If I run it from the frontend, it's no go. Everything is default controls and I can't change them. I even tried plain old command line version of Mame, and the same thing. Again.........no Mame.cfg file generated. (I've never seen a Mame.cfg file ever........cfg files are stored in the cfg folder and they are not legible)

I'm camping out in you're hub btw You do need some ops, 1 guy connected thrice right now.
-
Cool, but now I need help. lol When I run a game via this FE, it doesn't make use of my MAME cfg files (My controls wont work.....and I can't set them either) Running Mame normally things work fine. Basically everything works fine........my games are cab'ed and I can go up to a cabinet and run a game of my choice, I just can't control it with anything but default settings of keyboard controls. Any idea?

Response was minimal.........very poor. If you want to try, go ahead. But I gave up on the idea. -
Installing XP SP1 with a "not so legal" copy of XP
ken_cinder replied to ken_cinder's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
As far as I know, it works with any version of XP. But I've only tried it on Pro (I do not believe I have a corporate edition, but no activation was required at all with my copy of XP) -
Well I figured I should simply throw the "easy" way to change you're XP CD key up. Seeing as those of you out there who got their hands on XP early, with keys that were conjured up by the Warez kiddies out there that SP1 won't allow, want to install SP1. *Points at himself* That includes me! First you're going to get you a keygen or a list of keys. And none of the keys can start with FCKGW (Dems the keys that wont work, and probably the key you are using if you can't install SP1). Ok now that you got yourself the aforementioned, here is the process to change you're XP CD key the "EASY" way. 1: Click on the Start Menu and select "Run" 2: Type in REGEDIT to bring up the Windows Registry Editor 3: Locate the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWPAEvents 4: Right click on the key "OOBETimer" and select modify 5: Modify anything in that key and hit ok (Doesn't matter what you modify, just change something) 6: Close REGEDIT 7: Click on the Start Menu and select "RUN" 8: Type in %systemroot%system32oobemsoobe.exe /a 9: Select "Telephone......." and click NEXT 10: Click on "Change CD key" 11: Enter you're new CD key, if it doesn't work try another until you are succesful. 12: Go install XP SP1! (This information is actually made available by Microsoft themselves, but I don't remember exactly where I found it. So I kept it for myself to share with you) I'd give you the "If you like this software then buy it", but this is Microsoft. I already paid for all their previous crappy BSOD Operating Systems. THEY OWE ME LARGE!

Star Wars Galaxies : An Empire Divided!!!!!!!!!!!
ken_cinder replied to ME!'s topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Sounds great, and I've read about it time and time again. But with anything MMO I have to pay for, I'll only be playing one. And what one? You'll find me playing Planetside. http://planetside.station.sony.com -

We now have a *NEW* Emulation Links Section and a Chatroom!!
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Very cool. I made 11 additions to the links list. Hope the are of help to someone. -
I don't think Alexis was trying to be mean. Just that you would have better luck getting an answer if you posted this in the DC emulation forum. For example, if you posted something in the CPS1/2 or Neo-Geo forums that pertained to something else myself in particular could help you with, I wouldn't ever see it........I don't read posts in those forums. (DreamSNES is SNES emulation.........but someone without interest or ownership of a Dreamcast can't help you. Someone who does, is more likely to read posts in the DC emulation forum regarding something like this.) I think that is all Alexis meant by that. P.S. I don't know anything about DreamSNES........and my Dreamcast won't get here till next week.

The Forum Is Back Up Better Than Ever! + Some New News
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I was starting to think it was gone for good. But it's back and so am I! Merry Xmas all! (Even though tis the 26 today) -
A PCI slot is a white slot situated close to the edge of the motherboard. An AGP slot is a brown slot, situated farther back from the edge of the motherboard, and further back from the rest of the PCI slots. There's more to it, but I won't get technical with you, and just try to keep it simple for you. And yes, you will need to open the PC up and have a look. You can tell if current graphics are PCI or AGP in you're PC's operating system or bios. But it may be onboard, and having onboard AGP, there generallly isn't an AGP slot too. Just crack er open and look for what I initially told you.

THE NEW ARCADEATHOME BANNER IS FREAKING CRAZY!!!
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
It will never die. There are too many users on that forum without a mind of their own, that take EVERYTHING Tim say's at face value. Too many users "hooked" on the attack system. (I got so bored of it, after I racked up 450 or so frags, I just stopped bothering with it) -
SFA 3 was on PSX? Didn't know that. I'll try and find a specific patch for it now that I know what game you need it for. Check back later.
-
I've heard of region changing patches before..........never really looked into them or tried one before. You have a mod chip in you're PSX, and it doesn't support PAL? I assume you modded you're PSX not long after mod chips started coming out for it. Cause all the mod chips I know for PSX support this. If found this. That should do well. Good luck.

login.oscar.aol.com is the server that AIM connects to lol Some feature in XP (I believe it may be in Win ME too) will sometimes show you "Blah blah is trying to connect to this...." if you don't have an active connection to the internet. It's just AIM trying to connect to the oscar server. Oh, and I'd like to slap people compressing things with 7zip. That program sucks, and why use anything outside of the big three? (Winrar, Winzip, Winace), just causes hassle for others.

Computers are perfect. Humans are not. Blame the user or the builder. XP is flawless. Uptime: 7 days 9 hours 34 minutes I'll reboot on Friday I think.
