Mass Effect Mercenaries 2

Here I had my hopes al up, I've got it to be not so much a pain in the ass, but it's still doing the random crash BS with random errors. I'm sick of debugging crash dumps that point to something different every time. Thank god Newegg does RMA easily and I don't have to pay shipping back!

North Korea is throwing a kindergarten tantrum
ken_cinder replied to Lucandrake's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I don't recall saying anything to the contrary........wow If NK doesn't bend over for China, you can bet China will allow others to help make them. P.S. This isn't the 2 Korea's flocking with eachother this time around, this is NK flocking with everyone else. China sure as crap doesn't want a hostile neighbor that could cause China problems with everyone else. -

I really doubt this, considering how vocal the Chinese have been with NK. The Chinese are PISSED, and being the closest thing NK has to a "friend" I don't think their tantrum is going to get them anywhere. If anything, I foresee China stepping on some NK toes. Then if China doesn't get their way, everyone else has free range to help them get it. I can't imagine the Chinese ever letting anyone that close to their borders. They're a bit more on the incredibly paranoid (borderline schizophrenic) end of the spectrum. They don't need to....... North Korea borders South Korea and lots of pretty blue ocean. Going in from China would actually not make any sense, Pyongyang is further from the Chinese border than the ocean on either side or the SK border. -

Get back to myself and the rest of us when you have: 1: A child to take care of 2: A mortgage and property tax to pay 3: Car payments/maintenance And more......

I *think* I've got it mostly stabilized. 1: I don't think it's playing nice with SP3, I haven't had as much trouble after I reinstalled Windows with my SP2 disk. 2: How many f**king devices need to share the same IRQ!? Onboard video (Now disabled), all USB, Onboard Network and storage controller ALL making use of IRQ 10.........WTF? 3: Installed the ATI Southbridge Driver package (Seems this no longer comes bundled with the Catalysts.....hmm) Mind you I thought I had it stable earlier too by disabling onboard network controller, and I come back a half hour later to a BSOD. We shall see.

I swore I'd never buy another Gigabyte board again......WHY didn't I stick to that! God this board is a big piece of $HIT! No extra hardware installed, MEMTEST86 checks RAM out fine, 2 different power supplies used and this piece of CRAP does nothing but constantly crash with random "causes" referenced by Windows (I don't think I've seen the same error twice FFS!) NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN! This POS is going right back to Newegg TODAY. I should have learned my lesson years ago with the Gigabyte boards I've owned, that this company can't make anything well.

My 360 has done nothing but collect dust since I got it really, played it a few times here and there outside of a few days straight of Mercenaries 2. Might have something to do with my PC dying and every time I opened the door to my office, I wanted to kill someone!
-
Haven't played since we last had the server going. And this thing could handle 50 copies of UT running at the same time......lol In hindsight, I can tell now that it was dying. I was having odd things happen for months. I'd reboot and I'd have my IDE devices missing (A hard drive and my DVD burner), another reboot and they'd come back. I started getting wierd BSOD's out of nowhere regarding random hardware. 1 time it'd be a DLL for my video card, the next TCP.sys and the next something else.

New motherboard came in, transplanted everything and I'm all good again. Just wish I knew what was wrong with the other one, I paid damn good money for what was a high end board at the time!

Montreal is a 45 minute drive from Champlain NY, or a little over an hour from Plattsburgh NY. Close enough!

National Bill Seeks to Mislabel Video Games.

And where is the proof? How can they mandate something that has no proof to back it? There has not been a single conclusive study to support the idea that videogames cause agressive behaviour, yet there have been studies that have conclusively prove otherwise. Mandating something that is not just unfounded, but unproven and WRONG, should never be allowed to happen. -
I seem to recall laying a whupping on you guys pretty bad, on CTF-Lava Giant, including nuking a certain someones butt inches from a capture. Capturing 3 of 5 flags myself. Stil rusty overall though, yes. Oh and I don't think I've EVER lost a match in CTF-Coret.

Interested in buying a new PS2
ken_cinder replied to Sybarite Paladin AxL's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
He's right Wizard, newer slims have the function that was exploited for FMCB outright removed. They can't be used with it. -
I'd love to throw up the server again, as everything is still intact, but my main PC is DEAD until my new motherboard gets here. My laptop could handle running a dedi AND a client at the same time, but it's in constant use so I wouldn't want to share resources for that.

Where do you live? I would think a new KH-400C laser would cost you less than another PS2 that very well may have it's laser die just as soon. You should also try lowering the resistance on the laser pot a touch to squeeze more life out of it for awhile. -

New FAT PS2? Not gonna happen. Why not just replace the laser? -
What's with all the made up names? Something tells me Square isn't stupid enough to disolve the Eidos name and will retain it for what they deem suitable use. You really think another Tomb Raider under the name "Square Enix" will be as marketable? Your average gamer recognizes Eidos outside of Japan, far more than they recognize Square Enix. Bet you didn't know Taito is owned by Milk-Enix.......

What's the FDA got to do with it? I'm pretty sure when I turn my TMNT on downstairs, it clearly shows the "FBI" emblem with "Winners don't do drugs!" at the bottom.

compaq presario V3438TU RAM upgrade trouble

Dual channel is automatic, there is no bios setting for it on ANY system. The system can not run 2 independant channels for the DIMMS, they must be of the same type (PC xxxx) and size (512MB or 1GB, or what have you). Only if special consideration and settings are made is anything otherwise possible, and this is not standard behaiour, especially on a retail end user system. -
Gamecube Controller Alternatives?
ken_cinder replied to Rag's topic in Wii & GameCube Emulators [/pc/wii+gc]
I hate the 360 D-Pad too, but it's a design that so many praise with almighty craze about Sega's Saturn/Genesis pads. Why does the circle-dpad that is IDENTICAL in it's inaccurate state, garner such praise for Sega, but when it's on Microsofts pad it's "crap"? It's flawed on BOTH! I HATE Circular D-pads and all of them, they ALL fail. Saturn and Genesis pads outright suck for so many reasons (Light and flimsy, jagged feeling buttons and that horrid circle-dpad) that it boggles my mind why they get so much praise when they're some of the worst pads ever created. With that said, the Dpad on the Cube controller is one of the worst, second only to the Dreamcast. It may be a touch smaller, but it's more tactile and accurate than that slippery and sloppy one on the Dreamcast, which btw is also too small.
