So I came to a decision earlier....
ken_cinder replied to ken_cinder's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
The stand is very stable, but it is ever so slightly warped so the TV has a touch of a wobble, but this is due to me having a huge 21" Dell CRT sitting on there previously that weighed a ton. The warp is going away over time, and if it doesn't go away 100% on it's own I know a method to take the shape back thanks to working with MDF for years. Xbox and PS2 are connected with component cables.....composite ewww. I'm glad the desk has no drawers, I hate drawers and cupboards, I like easy access where I can see everything instead of opening and closing drawers to find something. Dust isn't much of a problem here, I have had those in/on my entertainment center in the living room or over 6 months now and had never dusted them. They only had a very thin film of dust on them. Yes, I have Logitech X-530's. More than enough power I can ever use without disturbing my neighbors. I paid next to nothing for them (Far less than what Amazon is asking, even 2 years ago), and the only thing I don't like is how the controls are tied to the 1 speaker. -

It's actually a corner desk, but given the layout of the room with a 5.1 speaker setup....it doesn't work well. The difference in sound after moving the desk and setting my speakers up in line with the desk is astounding. I don't know if it's sold anywhere in the US, but this is the desk, so you can see if you can find it somewhere. http://www.zellers.com/stores/shop/product...421377/52421377 I paid around $100 when I bought it, I think it's cheaper in store regardless but I got it on an office furniture sale too. It's MDF, but heavy stuff, not the light density stuff you find in most of the really cheap desks........like my old one, that I smashed a bolt through the top of when I dropped something on it. -

Psst, see: Total Carnage (Not a direct sequel, but directly based on Smash TV gameplay mechanics and design), oh and Smash TV ROCKS! -
Just for feeding my brain, for possible later use, can you UNbrick a Wii if you chip it? Wait, a first question for that to even be possible, are there modchips for the Wii? (I don't mean DRIVEchips, I mean actual modchips)

All of that information is top secret. We the staff at 1emulation urge you to not "nose around" sensitive areas. You may get a visit from 2 guys in black suits, wearing Ray-ban sunglasses carrying pens that flash a red light. Public statement: All you need to know is Agozer = Teh r0x0rz!

He was throwing banana peals. Not sure how bad it can be. I did think that was kinda nasty and for a moment I thought he would really cause an accident. Bad enough, let's say the front wheel throws it behind into the chain. I heard a story once about a guy who strapped his jacket to his pillon (Passenger seat) because it was "too hot out" (Moron, should ALWAYS wear your protective gear) and it got caught in the chain. Didn't end pretty, the jacket got caught in the rear wheel and it locked up and high sided the bike (High siding, you get thrown up over the bike instead of going down with it) tossing him into the air and down the road. Now I doubt a banana peel could do this, but who knows if it got bunched up and jammed in the sprocket it could, and I doubt the rider would know what just got thrown at him.

Found it. That's my printer buried alive under paperwork on the right, and my rear speakers are too far back to see mounted on the walls. My daughter agrees, I need a couch or futon in here on the back wall for watching movies/tv. -
I caught that somewhere yesterday, and it is funny.......save for the part where he throws something infront of the motorcycle. If someone threw something infront of my bike, I'd chase them down and beat the living $hit out of them. There's only 2 wheels, so if something gets caught up in 1 the results could be disastrous.

GameCube Controller broken
ken_cinder replied to Tynvar's topic in Wii & GameCube Emulators [/pc/wii+gc]
Never opened one, and I've yet to have any of mine fail......they're pretty sturdy. I can probably help, if you can provide pics of everything in question. -

I said it somewhere else when the report came that Squeenix wants to buy them. TOMB RAIDER RPG 15 GAME SERIES NOT WANT! GO AWAY SQUEENIX! As for EA....a plain "flock off" will suffice. A footnote on Midway. There are almost a half million shares out on Midway, and 87% of those were sold for $100k. That means PENNIES were paid per share, Midway's current stock value (Or rather as of a couple days ago, I'm too lazy to check again) is 33 cents per share. Of course, when you also buy 87% of a $70 Million dollar debt, you're not gonna pay market value! -

I hooked it up via component, I need to buy another VGA cable. Looks ok, but I know it will look crisper with VGA. (Component is color difference if you aren't aware, RB+Difference=green, whereas VGA is straight color signals) I can't find my camera since I took my daughter to the nighttime light up Santa Claus parade though. -
nullDC (New DreamCast Emulator) v1.0.0 Released!
ken_cinder replied to Alpha's topic in Emulator Releases [/emu]
Consider this your only warning, don't bump old threads with useless replies. If you're going to post, don't post just for the sake of typing some text and don't do it in a thread that hasn't even had a reply in over a YEAR! -
I just started playing Dead Space, kind of like a Futuristic Resident Evil. Pretty good so far. If you haven't played Mass Effect yet, I would also recommend that. I've had it for awhile but didn't bother installing it until last week.

Re-Ripping DC Game
ken_cinder replied to AntiRellik's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
You'd do it like you'd copy any disc, though you must take into account they have multiple sessions and ISO/BIN+CUE don't support this. You'll need to rip with Nero and spit out an NRG (Select IMAGE RECORDER from the drives box) or if you use Alcohol 120% rip to it's format (MDF+MDS I believe) or I THINK CloneCD/DVD (Who uses that POS anymore anyway) supports multisession. It doesn't matter what the image file was before it went on the disc Devia Eleven, data is data once it's on a CD. If the disc is in bad shape though, you may get errors in reading it when copying, in which case you need to download another copy (Mind the rules here please) -

I hate to sound like I'm racist, I'm not.......but I honestly can ONLY see this (Based on reading the article) being a "My baby daddy" fight involving two black men. Not to say it couldn't be any other race, but the odds.......just wow. If it is, it's a couple white "thug wannabe" morons. The article points to yet a stereotype though. Flame me, throw stuff at me but I get sick of hearing about all these things that MAKE these stereotypes possible. P.S. I know my post puts me in bad light, so I'll throw this out there. When's the last time you heard about a black pedophile or serial killer.........they're white, we fill the other side of the spectrum with the twisted bastards like that. -

I have my old 27" SDTV in the bedroom, it will be coming back down to take the HDTVs place. I just noticed one problem with my plans, I no longer have a VGA cable to do this with. I cut the one I had in half to make 2 cables for my Versus City cabinet to hook up to the computer I use in it. Sux.....I'll have to wait. I'm going to go look through my box-o-parts and see if I have enough RCA cables to hook it up via the component video adapter that came with my video cards for the time being, but I get the feeling I don't. May have to cannibalize a couple cables I already have stuff hooked up with down here (I have 6 consoles hooked up, audio out to my stereo, a digi cable box, vcr........fawking mess) -
I've got 2 32" HDTVs, some of you may recall my daughter broke 1 of them last year......it still works, it just has some broken crystal at the top. My brother in law is using that, and I have my new Samsung series 4 in the living room. The Samsung I bought, seems to serve no purpose beyond being a display for Treehouse for my 3 year old daughter. WTF you say? WTF I say. I just re-arranged my office yesterday, setting everything up so I could position my 5.1 speaker setup for perfect sound, and I got to thinking earlier, what good is all this with an old 21" CRT? I love CRTs for their color reproduction and black levels etc etc, but I have a 32" HDTV downstairs that doesn't see much use for what I REALLY bought it for, my games. Guess where the HDTV is going........ I've always wanted to hook my computer up to it, now I can do that AND have all my consoles in my office......my den......my cave where all others GTFO! lol I was playing Half Life 2 again last night with my new office arangement, and I was awed at just how much better everything sounded, and I couldn't help but think "I need a big ass display to match this audio". I take pics of how awesome it must be, only you must ignore my pink office.......I didn't paint it, was that color when I bought the house lol

There are hacks, using Twilight Princess to get a homebrew channel on. As for emulators, I don't think there is any emulators for the Wii yet. There are Gamecube emulators that will run on it though. P.S. I told you I'd chip your Wii when you got it. I can make you a modchip from scratch even.

Wal-Mart should be heavily fined over this as well. They should NOT advertise a timed sale (If you read other news articles or see it on TV, it was something like a 5am-6am sale on certain items at highly discounted prices).......a "Door Crasher", literally. When you hold a sale like this, you make damn sure you have ample security, queue lines set up and if necessary ask the police to have a car present shortly before opening if it's possible. They also should not have let 1 lone employee open the doors to a massive crowd, especially a temp who may not have been used to handling such what the hell did they think would happen? The MANAGER should have been outside the front of the store informing everyone that if order wasn't kept, the doors would not be opened. That's standard protocol for large public events, why would nobody have the common sense to do this here? -
I have a small handful of semi-rare games put away, some of which are still sealed. 1: Secret of The Stars (Boxed with manual, used but in excellent condition) for SNES - This game isn't very rare on it's own, but just try finding a copy that has the manual let alone the box. I have only ever seen copies on Ebay and in person where it was just the cart, and half of them had damaged labels on the cart. 2: Sonic Adventure 2 10th Anniversary Birthday Pack for Dreamcast, still NIB - I don't think this is rare, but it's not common. Comes with SA2 (JP), a CD with music from all of the Sonic games (Couple tracks from each game), a gold Sonic coin and a couple other things I think. To be honest, even if it was super common, I would never open it......I HATE the Sonic Adventure games, they're pathetic. I have a few others, but I can't recall what they are.

This issue has been resolved, he brought it to my house (Where I gave it a thorough wiping). The problem is Windows itself doesn't see the drive as a burner, burning software will (should) though. He was trying to use the built in Burning in Windows for file archiving. I haven't heard from him since he was here, so I'd imagine the issue truly is resolved. OP is my brother FYI

I got my own little sale item I suppose, even though I'm not in the US. Staples had their DVD-R's on sale for $12 for 50. They're normally $30. If you don't know, blank media prices are more expensive up here because of an included tax on them that equates to telling guys like your RIAA etc "STFU - money" Mind you the Staples here ALWAYS has a buttload of stuff on clearance/sale, usually it's mostly useless crap like "Bookmark reading light" or some other little useless trinket.

Depends on the board, you'll have to do what I already instructed you to, find the EXACT model number. Then download the bios from MSI's site for the right board, and follow their instructions.
-
It's not going to crash because of that. The program will know these details. The min/max is what the chipset is capable of using, as it uses your RAM as it's memory (Shared memory). You've currently got it set to the MAX (This would be set in the BIOS). All I can suggest if this is still happening, is to format and re-install Windows or update your bios. I noticed in one of the board BIOS pages that Bios version 1.5 updates the video bios to a newer version. This may address your issue, it may not. You will have to make 100% sure your exact motherboard model though, in which case you'll need to open your case and look for that on the motherboard.
