For the older MAME builds, you need dats and backtrace sets. I have 0.88 and ALL backtrace dats on my cabinet downstairs. Any MAME newer than that, runs like ass. Even certain games run disgusting on my new computer, that run great on the old one in my cab. Since they made some serious changes to the core, MAME has sucked donkey nuts.

That might have been me, I restarted the server. The SVN build doesn't appear to be showing users in the GUI of the main server app, doesn't have a context menu anymore either (I think they're trying to do away with the GUI entirely......at least, stripping it down to nothing but a console)

Ok I am infact waiting in the first RA2 channel........I think. Kind of hard to tell, as the actual name isn't shown in another client. In Tiberian Sun, the default channel is called "GDI Barracks" but would show up as Tiberian_Sun_1 to other clients that go through the listing.

I'll go grab my discs after I tuck the wife in (She hates the fact I'm working nights and CANNOT possibly go to sleep at 1am), hop on the server if you like.......I'll go sit in the RA2 chat channel through Tiberian Sun until I'm ready. I've compiled the latest SVN of PvPGN and am now running it in place of the official 1.8.3. It is a completely new "install", but I have move user accounts and characters over. Old server backed up and waiting incase this turns out to be not so good. I have gone ingame with Diablo 2, got as far as I did before with Tiberian Sun, and now started a game of C&C Renegade and gotten ingame (Though waiting, without any other players) without any hiccups. Thus, the server now supports some all WOL games. C&C Renegade C&C Red Alert 1 (Expansions as well I believe) Nox and Nox Quest As well as the others listed in the original post. I do believe Tiberian Sun: Firestorm also works, but I haven't yet tried. If anyone wants to play ANYTHING (Except the Nox games) just hop on #1emu on EFNet and let me know, and I'll join you.

On a temperature note, I hate summer. It's often too hot, and you can't do much about it. In the winter, you can put more clothes on etc, but you are quite limited in what you can do outdoors. I find winter depressing as well, thanks to this.

You just touched on exactly why I will never pay for Live, EVER. Why the hell should I pay for multiplayer? I don't on PC, never have, and never will. Live = The Gamespy of Consoles. NOTHING more.

People distribute what has been dubbed a "Corporate Edition" that requires no activation. Be advised, there is no "Corporate Edition", XP Pro has NEVER required activation, it's always been optional. You also won't find any version that doesn't require a serial key, unless it's one that has been installed and copied over with a custom bootloader. This is NOT something you want, it's like using a RIP of a PC game. Just find an ISO of XP Pro with SP2 or SP3. Or better yet, find a retail and slipstream it yourself with everything you want.

Whatchoo talkin bout Willis? There was one on the NES, aptly called "Wolverine", then one on SNES/Genesis (I REFUSE to call it Megadrive btw) called Wolverine: Adamantium Rage. Then you have for PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC (Oh and GBA, but gimme a break) X2: Wolverine's Revenge. I bet I missed one or two as well.

It's not a Dream, it's a Tream. A Treamcast! Hardly what I would call a portable though, and disgustingly expensive.

Really, I have to ask why such enthusiasm. I know MvsC 2 is enjoyed by many, but quite frankly I thought the first game was better. What could possibly make a 3rd so great?

By all means do, but I'm not sure if I can host the server this time. I've got the PvPGN server on the go now, that supports several games. Hopefully it starts seeing some use.

Officially supporting Starcraft/Broodwar now. Broodwar is untested as I don't have it, but it should work. Also supporting Westwood Online (BETA!) and I have tested login and game creation in Tiberian Sun, but have not yet actually started a game (Require a second human player). Other supported, but untested games are: Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge and Dune 2000. See first post for more info. I suggest you look up each game on Ebay, and write down asking prices as well as current bids on stuff ending soon, then total it all up and round up to the nearest $50 mark.

My brother in law has a 360, Live and GoW. Luckily, I rent my basement to him and he has borrowed my other LCD TV. Maybe I'll join in at some point.

I got bored, I put together a PvPGN server. Server Details and Instructions Server address: pvpgn.game-server.cc Battle.net Instructions You will require the Battle.net Gateway Editor below. Open it, following the instructions for the game you wish to add a gateway for (See below), name the gateway what you will, enter the server address and for zone, use 5. Battle.net Gateway Editor - BNGatewayEditor.rar Officially Supported Battle.net Games Diablo 2 + LOD Expansion Starcraft + Broodwar (Broodwar untested by me, but should work by default) Diablo 2/Diablo 2 LOD Instructions The Diablo 2 server supports Open as well as Closed games, Standard and Hardcore Ladders in both regular and expansion modes. If you would like to play Diablo 2, you will require Diablo 2 and (if you wish to play with expansion characters etc) the Lord of Destruction Expansion. The latest patch 1.12a and the Battle.net Gateway Editor. Note - If you install LOD over an already patched Diablo 2, you WILL need to apply the patch for D2+LOD as well. Diablo 2/LOD 1.12a Patches You will need to add a gateway in the Battle.net Gateway Editor, under the Diablo/Diablo 2 tab, with the above information.......calling the gateway whatever you wish. Close it, and it will be saved in Diablo 2's settings in the registry. Then you simply fire up Diablo 2, select this gateway and connect like you would to Battle.net. Create an account, and off you go. Starcraft/Broodwar Instructions Broodwar is not required, and is infact untested by me as I only own the original game. Broodwar should work just fine however. You will need the latest Starcraft patch, or the Starcraft+Broodwar patch if you have both installed. Note - Just like Diablo 2, you will most likely have to repatch your game if you install Broodwar later. Starcraft/Broodwar 1.15.2 Patches Use the above Battle.net Gateway Editor, and add a gateway iunder the Starcraft tab calling it whatever you like, using the details above. Close it, fire up Starcraft/Broodwar and select this gateway in multiplayer and click on Battle.net. Create an account (if necessary, the one you made in Diablo 2 will work, if you made one there) and start playing. Westwood Online Instructions These instructions cover ALL Westwood Online clients, and only need to be done ONCE aside from patching your game to the latest version (See each games instructions for links etc). You MAY need to create another account if you have one already, and the username is too long. Westwood Online has a shorter limit on usernames compared to Battle.net. Westwood Online support is still experimental in PvPGN, although stable. Your HOSTS file will need to be modified to connect to my server. I am providing a modified HOSTS file that you can simply replace your existing one with, or you can open it in Notepad and copy the necessary lines over to your existing HOSTS file (Recommended if you have modifications already in your HOSTS file). Most antivirus software will go nuts if your HOSTS file is modified, so either disable yours temporarily, or have it ignore the current action for the time being. Your HOSTS file can be found in the following places depending on your operating system: Windows 95/98/ME: %WinDir%\ (Your ROOT Windows directory) Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista: %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\ (SystemRoot is where Windows is installed) Linux and other Unix-like operating systems: /etc (You should know this, and this only applies if you are running something like WINE) hosts.rar Officially Supported Westwood Online Games Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun (Gameplay untested as of yet, require second human player.
