  1. Try an emulator and see how it works for you, if you need further help ask for it. But as for asking where to get a game, NO. Read the rules.
  2. Actually, yeah it'd be easier to FTP files from the old drive first (I was thinking in terms of something I did recently which required my suggestion). I don't think anything supports 7zip, as the RAM requirements could easily exceed what is available just for decompression. I compress with Ultra and high word/dictionary size, which requires 1381MB RAM for compression and 130MB for decompression, the Xbox only has 64MB of RAM. Even Ultra with default dictionary/word size requires 66MB for decompression. As for getting the ROMs out of solid compressed 7z archives (Such as a GoodMerge set) without manual hassle, try UnGoodMerge.
  3. Just FTP the files in, if softmodded simply overwrite your UX files (Default.xbe) with the XBMC ones. Everything is resident in memory after your dash is loaded, you can overwrite the running executable. Why is XBMC a better dash than UX? Well if you make frequent use of XBMC, why have UX? Beyond a text editor and some minor things, UX offers nothing XBMC can't do......in some cases better. XBMC supports Python scripting, so if you know how you can do whatever you want if scripting it is possible. Why not try it in it's own directory for awhile, treating it as your dashboard, and see what you think?
  4. Softmodded hard drive upgrade requires you redo the softmod. You needn't lose your stuff though, just unlock the original drive and hook it up to your PC when you have the new drive done. Then copy everything you need over (Gamesaves etc). Be sure to check the lockable drives list on XS though, not every drive supports ATAPI security features (What you need to lock a drive). I've got a 40GB drive in mine, I find it ridiculous that people put 300GB+ drives in there. SMB is a feature in almost every piece of Xbox software, stream stuff! Oh and you'll need your EEPROM/HDKEY to lock said new drive (And unlock the old one, using XboxHDM). Be sure to get EvoX on there and do a backup, then copy the backed up EEPROM etc to your PC and keep it safe. Once you do that, you're in the clear no matter what you do (Besides something going wrong with your hardware).
  5. If you like XBMC that much, you should ditch UnleashX. I like UnleashX, but I switched to using XBMC as my dash and I haven't looked back. As for adding a menu item, it's been awhile, but I had to edit the config file manually to do it. Not sure if it's been changed in the later versions of UnleashX. As for upgrading the hard drive, are you hard or soft modded?
  6. AND, it didn't meet the reserve. Dude has WAY too high expectations for this paperweight of his.
  7. Thanks!
  8. I also agree with BlackKnight, his manner of going about it was all wrong. He wasn't invited in, yet he was allowed to ask his question. He then proceeded to turn things into a circus, and was being escorted out and was kicking and screaming all the way. I would have done more than taser his ass.
  9. Keeps changing on you huh? I'm thinking this is a bug, I can't get mine to stay put on Ebay, whereas in other places it's fine. I think it has to do with the encoding, because if I select Western (Like it always should be) when the page font is too large, it reloads the page with it correct.
  10. You know, I honestly can't see ANYONE buying this, especially at that price. It's one thing to own a rare piece of hardware, but a piece of hardware that is (In all factual form) A PAPERWEIGHT? Gimme a fsucking break! You'd have to be a complete moron to shell out $400 for it, let alone $4000.
  11. I sent him a message letting him know that modem is a Japanese 56k. Must be a rarer item (Original modems were 33.6 I believe), as digging up info on the part number wasn't exactly my easiest digging.
  12. I hate people like this, making a profit on open source software on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=320157262507 Funny enough, Ebay doesn't have an option to report such a thing. I reported using the "Beta, Testing software" blah blah. I hate thieves that profit on the work of others!
  13. http://timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/more_sp...icle2461339.ece Talk about suck! I didn't know much about this guy, but I've seen a few races he's been in and he was damn good. Spooky enough for me, I just finished playing a round in DIRT where I lost to him, close the game and this is the first headline I read at a site I frequent. It's enough to lose 1 family member, but a young child too........I can't imagine how his wife is feeling right now. I'd probably lose it.
  14. Given that Ironman is my favourite comic character next to Silver Surfer, you know I'm going to see this. They better not screw it up!!
  15. Even that is alot of money. That still would be like $210 for me, too much for a game.
  16. I think he means like 5% of his YEARLY salary, which IS alot. That would be like me paying something like $2500 for a game, my TV didn't even cost that much!
  17. Remind me to never download any file you attach. You're the type that thinks all virii come in EXE form aren't you? I'd put money on 100:1 odds that you're already infected. By the way, checking your process list doesn't show everything, some can hide themselves within other processes. SVCHOST for instance, hosts many different Windows processes, and a virus CAN hijack that host process too. Thanks for everyone's opinions, I've chosen Avast. Seems to do exactly what I'd like it to, but it's "extra" services are definitely going as they eat up far too much memory for an AV program (Makes Norton seem like a resource mouse)
  18. Ok, so I've f**king had it up to HERE with AVG Free. I'm sick of it picking up files and quarantining them when I know for a FACT they are not infected (I've used online scanners on them, some of them are files I've had for nearly a f**king decade!). AVG Free won't let you ignore a file either, it just keeps quarantining it. Sick of that $hit. I want something that won't chew up my resources, something that doesn't run 15 processes, and something that isn't missing important features like being able to adjust heuristics levels and ignore files I KNOW aren't infected. So far I've looked at Avast and BitDefender. Anyone use these? If so, what are your thoughts. P.S. I don't want to know your opinions on how diverse their detection is, I'll test that myself.
  19. Leaked? Fool, you make it sound like it's been ripped and leaked onto the internet, which is not the case. You need to 'splain something like that when you post, not just put up a link. Halo 2 was actually "Leaked", being it was ripped and on the internet 2 weeks before release. That's an Australian copy, that sold on Ebay for $150 AUD (Only $50 more than retail), nothing more.
  20. I still have a 31 disk floppy version of Win95b and a CD version. I installed the floppy version on a 386 laptop several months ago, for friends who were going on a trip so their kids would be entertained. I remember running SNEeSe DOS on it, and the thing ran pretty damn good too!
  21. Oh noes! Someone actually made use of ZiNc plugins to get some games working PROPERLY in MAME without requiring a 50ghz CPU! Oh noes! I hate MAME devs, they're so anal.
  22. No, they're save state abusers, let's see em do it on real hardware. I can beat Super Metroid in under an hour with 70%+ item collection, on real hardware, but I doubt most speedruns (Besides ScarletRed and others I'm very familiar with) are not using save states.
  23. I voted no. We have plenty of younger members here, that I would not like to grow accustomed to foul language. This is a gaming/emulation forum, not a generalized forum or a rant-house for 1 specific topic like cars or whatnot and our audience varies FAR more in age than most anything else. We need to keep it clean here, I wouldn't want my daughter on here if it was no-holds-barred. (Mind you she's only 2 right now, but you get the point) The censoring even affects me, and I just put up with it unless I REALLY need to stress a point (At this point, you've thought before you typed) and use different characters to get around it to make my point. Vehemently NO P.S. We do have users under 13 here, and you are aware that content filters and parental controls would cause us to lose potential long-term users who might otherwise contribute something worthwhile here, simply because when they were younger the aforementioned kept them from even viewing our site?
  24. If you're having different problems after multiple reinstalls, I'd definitely check that hard drive. Fire up a boot disc of some sort (Win98 CD, Boot floppy, XP Recovery Console from CD etc) and run a scandisk/chkdsk with surface scan on the entire drive.
  25. Dude, in the working world, you have no friends. That's not to say don't be friendly or friends with anyone you work with, but you MUST be out for yourself, this isn't school or the playground. I'm on good terms with everyone I work with (Save 1 or 2 people, that I've made it very clear to) and friends with several, but I WILL step on you to get higher up the ladder if I have to. They know I'm the boss, but I only play that card when I need to, otherwise I'm just another employee. Employers don't want people who will let others walk on them/over them, they want people who can stand and deliver. I didn't get 3 promotions and $6 in raises in little more than 1yr for nothing. I say take the new job, and leave your current way of thinking and ethics at the old one. Don't be a jerk, but don't let anyone take anything from you by trying to be the "nice guy".
