Find another PS1 and switch the controller Ports, It easily comes off. Tried...Model 7501 to 5500 (The broken one) doesn't seem to work.

I'm a n00b here, but I couldn't get an answer anywhere. I got a modded PS1 from my friend. But...The controller ports don't work... It doesn't acknowledge the controller is even THERE. Any ideas on fixing it?
