I don't have KoF2003 working, but the exact same thing happens to me with zintrkcd and neopong. Romcenter shows both to be perfect, yet the emualtor just freezes when I try to load them.

How can I enable red blood in Metal Slug games on FBAXXX? The option was always part of the dip switches in KawaX, it's not there in the dip switch menu on FBAXXX.
-
Yeah, FBAXXX has some bug where it won't generate the DAT files for the standard XBE after you enable the new sets. I tried and it just locks up when it says it's generating the DATS. I checked over at the FBAXXX site and other people have had the same problem.
-
I think it's just overclocking the emulated CPU, not the actual CPU in the Xbox. Should be no risk.

Romcenter DATS: standard xbe DAT MAME dump xbe DAT Just to clarify for myself... if I use the MAME dump xbe then my ROMs need to be named according to MAME standards and then both MAMEoX and FBAXXX would be able to use the same ROMS... correct?
-
What format was the ISO in? BIN/CUE is the preferred format for that emulator.
-
I prefer KawaX too. It just seems to run some games better than FBAXXX. But I use both and just have FBAXXX pointed to my KawaX ROM directories.

That happens on a whole lot of games. It's often best to just disable CDDA in the configuration menu. You will end up not have any background music for a lot of games, but that's better than choppy and/or slow music IMO. You may also need to disable XA sound processing. One of both of those will get rid of the choppy music. You should still have most of the sound effects and the games usually run smoother.

But the problem with Usenet is you have to have good service to begin with. MY ISP's news server sucks. If there is any sort of split across a string of posts my news server will always be missing some of the posts. I can't even usually get a 20 MB file and certainly have no hope in getting a complete file that is 1 GB+.

XBox ISOs suprnova (check "Games" section) XBox-torrentz.de (torrents posted in forums) Those are the two best places that I know.
-
Anyone know where I can get a DAT file to use with ClrMamePro to check my ROMS for use with MAMEoX (0.72)?

What games are you talking about? Real XBox games or are you talking about ROMs for emulators?

Hey, I'm not in the official Blizzard WoW beta test... I wish I was. But you can play the beta anyway! There are several groups running their own servers. A group called Stormcraft seems to be the best right now. You just need to download the beta (you can find them on Bittorrent sites like Suprnova) and log onto their servers. Many features are missing that the real Blizzard beta test has because they haven't figured out how to activate eveything yet, but you can still wonder around the world and fight various creatures. If anyone wants me to post a few screen shots I will. It's a beautiful game.

So would you ever go back to one of these games again? Even if you just played hard for a month or two, that's still more playtime than people get out of most games. Think about it... people play a game like Zelda and talk about how great it is while only really playing the game 10-15 hours in most cases. I've spent more time than that on Diablo II in a single day. I personally think the good ones are worth the money. I've been playing the World of Warcraft demo and it's amazing. The world is HUGE. It took me several hours to run across one of the land masses.

But you are bashing a game for sucking you in. That doesn't make much sense. That is exactly what any game developer wants to do, but MMORPGs are just better at it than most because of their design and online aspect. Admit it, during that time you were hooked.... you loved the game. It's when you let it take over everything that you started to hate the game, but that doesn't change the fact that you got more enjoyment out of it initially than nearly any other game. I know, I was hooked on Diablo II for a good year and half. I finally had to force myself to stop playing, but I still love the game and had lots of good times when I was playing. I personally plan to play World of Warcraft when it is launched (playing the beta right now). I'm just going to have to limit my play time from the start. MMORPGs are no more a waste of time than any other game. They are all just entertainment... MMORPGs just have a way of taking over. [EDIT] As for the monthly cost some of these games charge, you people have to understand that these games rely on fast banks of servers with ungodly amounts of bandwidth. It takes bandwidth measured in terrabytes per month to support these games... and that is NOT cheap. The servers are also responsible for storing everyones characters. They can't be stored locally because then people would be able to hack their character's profiles. You also have to pay a team of people to run the servers so they can get them back up if they crash, protect them from hackers, and produce patches for the game when people figure out various ways to cheat (i.e. like duping items). How Blizzard managed to run Diablo II without a monthly charge is beyond me, but you can't expect them all to be that way... not if you want the game done right.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. You can't really compare console games to PC games. PC games have patches because there are literally thousands upon thousands of different configurations people can be running in their PCs.... different motherboards, video cards, types of RAM, amount of RAM, processor types, processor speeds, sound cards, direct X versions, operating systems, hard drives, etc... Consoles have very little variation and all the developers know every configuration they might run into when developing a game.

Heh.... that's what I use XBMP/XBMC for also (Anime).

Check your personal messages.

I don't know of one... I got mine from a torrent that appeared a couple of weeks ago. If you need me to I can start a torrent with K1 and K2 on Suprnova or something.

That's the correct location. Did you hit the rescan ROMs button (it's the curved arrow) to see if they would show up? Also, did you try and change the ROM path in the Surreal.ini file? If so, you should put it back the way it was (Rom Path=D:\Roms\). XBox applications use relative paths, so D: is always the path from which the default.xbe was launched.
-
The ROMs that are of the size you are talking about are usually the encrypted ROM sets. KawaX needs to have the decrypted ROMs. For example, my garou ROM is decrypted and is only 38.5 MB in size (garoun.zip).

My vote would go to the amp since you should be able to enjoy it for much longer.

What dashboard are you using?

Try this program: XCover It's been around a while and is no longer being worked on (by the original developer anyway), but it gets the job done.

Can Anybody Please Email Me Px Hdd Loader V1.3?
Thraxen replied to SF2MJ's topic in XBOX Hacks [/xbox]
OK, first, the name of the game that you see displayed in your games menu once the game is loaded is stored in the default.xbe file. You shouldn't need to change that unless the name is just too long in your menu. What was probably happening earlier was HDD Loader was probably reading this name and trying to make that the name of the folder it was going to copy the game to. That name is too long to be a file or folder name since it exceeds 42 characters. But it's fine if that's the name that appears in your games list since it's being read from inside of a file and not the name of the file itself. Does that make sense? If you do want to change it, you can do it a couple of ways. One, you can get a hex editor and open up the default.xbe file. You will see the name near the top (usually on the right hand side of the screen). This can be a bit intimidating though. Or you can use a program like XBE Renamer (may need to right-click the link and do a "save target as") to change the name in the default.xbe file. With XBE Renamer you can just point it toward the default.xbe file and it will show you the name and allow you to change it. It can even use FTP to change the file while it's on your XBOX. The Avalaunch dashboard has a built in feature that allows you to change the names, but if your using Evox then your best bet is XBE Renamer. Not sure, but it shouldn't have anything to do with the name of the game. DVD2XBOX tells you how many files failed to copy... did all the files copy correctly when you used it? Also, if you want to copy a bunch of ROMs to the XBOX in the future, use a program like PreXBoxCopyTool to edit all the names at once so they will copy to the XBOX. Some of the games will end up with the names trimmed off at the end, but you can still usually tell what the game is... and it beats manually fixing the names of a hundred ROMs that didn't copy one by one.
