somecninj replied to Snesgamer's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
hey 2eyez, can you tell me which server and channel you got the dev kawaks from? I checked my usual irc channels and didnt see it anywheres. -
Actually, Lantus was not the one who started mame-x, opcode was. THen after beta 4, superfr0 took over. Oh and i dont know what was up with disabling vmm in mame-ox .

N64 Lovers, Theres A New Emu Leaked Out For Xbox
somecninj replied to Prican25's topic in XBOX Hacks [/xbox]
Yeah it is kinda funny . That was posted by CraiZE (an #xbins moderator by the way, seems odd why he would help spread a leaked version). I downloaded the leaked version in fear that there would not be an official release(because of the leak) and it is quite impressive. Besides some freezes/lockups(it's still a little unstable, but hey its a leak), and not being able to change the controller configurations, the emulator works DAMN good. Games run alot more smoothly. Graphics and sound are better. I like the box art as well, nice added touch. As for someone asking about the jerky controls for goldeneye, they have gotten better, but its still pretty damn hard to aim precisely. zero129, I would wait untill the official release, as I believe they are incorporating the new 1964 core, which will most likely affect game compatibility. Well, congrats to oDD and Lantus for such a great emulator, and I hope they keep up the great work. -

somecninj replied to Mr.X's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
Well, Ive been wathcing all this mslug5 stuff for the last couple of days . This morning I was checking through some ftp's that had some mslug5 "stuff" and I found this interesting.txt file with a dat in it. Here it is: %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% System: NEO RomName: mslug5nd Game: mslug5 [Program] 268-p1d.bin,0,800000,9F2DBA3D,0 [Text] 268-s1.bin,0,20000,64952683,0 [Z80] 268-m1d.bin,0,20000,6FA01C9A,0 [samples] 268-v1.bin,0,400000,C3540E0D,0 268-v2.bin,400000,400000,77BD2F4,0 268-v3.bin,800000,400000,39B14567,0 268-v4.bin,C00000,400000,969FF3B2,0 [Graphics] 268-c1d.bin,0,800000,969C0D62,0 268-c2d.bin,1,800000,C69AE867,0 268-c3d.bin,1000000,800000,D7BEAEAF,0 268-c4d.bin,1000001,800000,E1B1131B,0 268-c5d.bin,2000000,800000,2FA1A5AD,0 268-c6d.bin,2000001,800000,6DE89589,0 268-c7d.bin,3000000,800000,97BD0C0A,0 268-c8d.bin,3000001,800000,C0D5BC20,0 [system] CartridgeID: 268 GfxCrypt: 0 GfxKey: 0 ButLayout: 9 Fix: 0 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% RED Evasion 268-P1d 122A:0067?¨754E A screen is dirty. I found 2 things interesting about this dat. Note the text at the bottom about the p1 rom, and also note [Program] 268-p1d.bin,0,800000,9F2DBA3D,0. ANOTHER P1 rom . Maybe this is the correct P1 rom we need. Does anybody have this p1 rom(note the crc)? Anyways, thats the info i gathered for today, besides more screenshots of it running with scrambled graphics . -
Thanks Prican25.

Metal Slug 5 (mslug5.zip/ms5.zip) News
somecninj replied to Mr.X's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
Thanks for keeping us updated Mr.X. We may get this thing working peice by peice . -
hey N3oGhost, could you tell us where you got the m1, v1, and v2 roms from?? I could only find the p1, s1, and the c roms. Thanks, and I hope you are able to get it to run on kawa-x .

Hey emsley, I think I can help. This is what I do when I want to change.rom files to.bin files for certain emulators. Never had to change.bin to.rom, but I assume it would work the same. Open a command(dos) prompt. go to the directory that has the files that you want to change. I'll use svc.bin and svc.rom for examples. Once in the directory with the files, you would type "copy /b svc.bin svc.rom" without quotes, and press enter. It copys svc.bin to a file, called svc.rom, which is what you want. The "/b" tells it to do a "binary copy". Hope that helps you.

Ok, thanks for the info man.

Hey Prican25, your posts on the newsgroups are incomplete . Maybe someone could create a.torrent of ssv for kawa-x(and the.xbe already edited), and upload it to suprnova? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing Prican25 .
-
Thanks for the info MAXXXKKK, but I was wondering, by doing this hex edit, will I still be able to use svc? Or does this replace svc with samurai shodown 5? i want to be able to play both games on the same.xbe.

yeah, thanks for sharing deltaquad! .

Favourite NEO-GEO Emulator
somecninj replied to shin_nihon_kikaku's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
Winkawaks is THE best for Neogeo(and cps1/cps2). Neorage is good for old computers or computers with really low-end specs. Mame is alright, but can be a bit slow at times. I never really liked Nebula, it does kinda suck. Once again, Winkawaks is the best! -
Best Snes Emulators
somecninj replied to shin_nihon_kikaku's topic in NES & SNES Emulators [/pc/nes+snes]
yeah Shibathedog, I have to agree. I find Snes9x much better. But most seem to lke ZSnes. There both basically the same in compatibility though. -
ha ha . that sites pretty funny. good find.

Well, Weirdanzeige, your choices are the same as mine except for your neogeo/cps2/cps1 choices. I use a hacked winkawaks(actually a loader) for all those games(including the new games like mslug4, svc, rotd etc) Nice to have one emulator for all those games, and winkawaks seems to run everything quite well and fast, even with the supereagle video blitter that i use. Here's my choice emulators for systems that you didn't mention. For the GBA, I use Visual Boy Advance. Every game I played on it runs great. For model 2 games I use the Neblua model 2 emulator, as it's the only choice for those games. For the N64, I mostly use Project64 with the sp1 service pack. For the plugins, I use Jabo's newest. For a few N64 games, I also use 1964(can't wait for the new version!!!!). And for the Sony Playstation, I use epsxe with pete's newest plugins for video, sound, and input. That's all for me.

bit torrent sucks, like nebula
somecninj replied to evilnos_unholy's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
You should try the abc bittorent client. It's awesome. Never had a problem with spyware or slow downloads(except that im using a 56k ). Oh and I don't like nebula either. -
hey, hope ya have a good one .
-
Thank you N3oGhost, GameCop and everyone else involved in making kawa-x plus, and sharing it with everyone else. Saved me time so that i didnt have to edit the xbe myself, and focus more on playing the *previously* unsupported roms . I never thought I would be able to play rotd on my xbox. Kawa-x plus is da bomb!

Here is a link for KAWA-X Plus + working roms
somecninj replied to SF2MJ's topic in XBOX Hacks [/xbox]
Thraxen, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I was looking for the neoragex version of cthd for so long . Thanks for submitting that torrent. -
I always felt that wrestlemania 2000 was the shiznit . It seemed to play smoothly, and was really fun to play because the difficulty for doing the special moves was relatively easy. I would say it's better than no mercy.

I can't believe no one mentioned 007 GOLDENYE 64! It's defiantly my favourite N64 game of all time, maybe even my favourite video game ever.
