Don't forget to stay safe! -
sup wiz! I finally left undergrad to get in the real wo.. huh grad school. I think I've read that you have too Gryph, how's it going? I'll start working in a lab in two months. Kinda scary. I haven't had internet at home for a whole year! Well, I didn't miss it that much but I finally got it back. I guess withdrawal is over. I may get back on IRC one day, but not now. I've got lots of stuff to do and basically haven't done any yet. Getting on IRC would only make things worse. I may start posting again here, or maybe I won't. time will tell

I've seen stupidity in my life, but wow

sup gryph! Basically, macs are all about ease of use and ergonomy. When you have to get a work done, it's important. Linux is really good technically, making it a system of choice for servers. It also has an open philosophy and doesn't require, well, a mac like macos does. Then, windows lets you use lots of softwares. The vast majority of them have equivalents for macos and linux, except games. Therefore, to each his own, and don't go around crying that such system is crap. If it really was, noone would be using it, would they? I know there's an unlimited supply of stupidity in this world, but when something is crappy, people eventually stop using it. I chose to have a wifi chip implanted in my brain. Way cooler, except for the tumor that's starting to get a little big.

All computers suck. Not because they're macs, or because they run Windows or Linux, just because they're computers. Yay for ballpoint pens!

Calling out all 04/05 forum reunion
taratata replied to Fatal Rose's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Hey guys! I've been fine. I just don't have the time and the will to post on forums anymore. I also don't have internet at home anymore, though that could change in the near future. Actually I came back to read this forum only a few days ago. The reason is that I'm doing an internship and I was trying to find any possible way to procrastinate. It's nice to see that things are going well here, but I miss the week-long flamewars that happened here. Do they still happen? Actually the fact that they were always restricted to one or two threads and did not mess the ambiance of the whole forum was what made them so enjoyable. See ya! I may come back often in my search of the neverending procrastination. -

Urgent Problem, Help Needed
taratata replied to VirtuaKnight's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Doesn't chankast need selfboot images? The problem may come from here. My experience with chankast is limited, but that's what I remember. -
Urgent Problem, Help Needed
taratata replied to VirtuaKnight's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
The only images I've ever downloaded were .cdi or .mds/.mdf. Supposedly the iso format doesn't carry all the information needed to properly burn a DC game. I guess it's the same to mount it... Maybe you could try downloading another image? I know it may sound stupid, but are you sure it is a dreamcast game you've got there, not for another console? I somehow fail to grasp how this problem is urgent... -
help me find this NES game

Could that be "Trog"? EDIT: here's a screenshot: -
I'm not sure that today's music is worse than what it was at any time. What I'm sure of is that most of the garbage of the past has been forgotten. The music from the 70's and 80's that we listen to now is what has withstood the test of time. The same applies for any musical period. In twenty years, people will probably only remember the few good musics from now, and will have forgotten the vast majority of current radio garbage.

Terrorists fail to recreate a bigger disaster than 9/11
taratata replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Oh, come on. Do you really believe there's a "good" side? Do you really think foreign policy has nothing to do with this? It's a battle between two different kinds of evil. While all of us would certainly love to live in a manichean world, we don't. There are no things as simple as a battle between "good and evil". Unfortunately, we are usually confronted to one side's point of view and have rarely the opportunity to see one of the many other points of view. -
Time for... Ghostbuster

Well, if I know z = x * y, and I don't know the values of x and of y, I can't know the value of z. I guess my question wasn't clear. Let me rephrase it then. How many users are usually connected during a 1emu show? And what's the sound quality for a typical live 1emu radio show (not necessarily the same as the downloadable version)? Is the server currently used for shows usually full (and so, rejecting potential listeners) during these shows?
-
Just out of curiosity, what amount of bandwidth is needed for the radio show?

Congratulations
