Agreed. Although I thought Voyager sucked. You NEED to watch DS9 man. As awesome as TNG is DS9 is better. I know people will argue to the death about that, and they are both very good for their own reasons and very close, but trust me you will like it. Iron Man 2 sucked more however. I even thought the first one sucked. I don't get why these movies are popular or considered good at all. DS9 was alright... but I remember it being very boring. I do however remember an awesome episode where homeboy and his son got zapped and he disappeared. (The leader dude) Anyway his son studied this anomaly all his life, and every so often his dad would appear like a ghost then disappear. Turned out his dad was tethered to him at some cosmic level and was bouncing back and forth like he was on a rubberband. When he came back the last time, his son was old, had a wife etc. And killed himself, which snapped him (leader) back to when the accident happened, in which he jumped out of the way and averted the whole thing. The episode was much more interesting and involved than my vague description... but my point is I do indeed want to watch it so I can catch gems like that episode.

Years back I thought about being a Pirate for Halloween. I wanted to go out drinking with my pals and say "A ROUND FER ME MATES" and then dump a load of coin on the counter. Every paycheck id get a few dollar coins and save them. Never ended up doing it, and I dont know what happened to them in the move out of state. Well when I worked at 7-11 I bought out all the not typical coins I got. I had them in a cigar box but that wasnt fitting. I found a perfect little treasure chest and here you see it. It doesnt look like much, you can plainly see the bottom, and its over $100. Although Im not hitting the bars this year, I still want to fill this box up. Just to have some treasuar. I estimate it should hold over $800-$900 before it begins to spill out

Tell her she can chill with you in the cave. Make her know just as you say, it so all your shit isnt bothering her or whatever. You are not trying to escape her, you want your man cave... build it, drag her by her hair into it and then she will understand.

I have someone who will throw down with me with crushing walls of text... in my thread. Its not our fault our minds work this way. Besides, this is good stuff. Yea that store sound like the bottom of the barrel. My manager is this German chick whos alittle older than me. I havent asked her how long she has lived in the states, but its likely most her life, although a bit of accent remains. She and her man game like crazy. She said to me yesterday, I want to get some sleep, but there are still games to be played. Which in all of our experience, will never change. They have something like 175 360 games. Between the 2 of them they have a pretty good grasp on games in general. She is a WoW player, so doesnt really play console RPG's and their both Halo nuts. They have all Halo games setting in a Halo standee. Then we have the Asst. Manager. He is very good at absorbing new information. As far as the technical aspects of the job, routines and shit your supposed to say, Im watching him specifically... I actually think he is the poster boy for how that should be done. His "comfort zone" on game genres he plays often are pretty slim, but he still has a good basis to draw from. He is pretty witty, or at least he would like to think so I gather. He is quick and informative but not overbearing. The Sr. Game Advisor. Hees a cool guy, pretty chill. He is married and expecting a child. He talks alot, just like me so I have an analog to compare myself with and so I can try not to make the same mistakes. He is the only sports guy in the store, so he feels alone in that respect. We often talk about DQIX but since he is married and expecting, he cannot play as much as us. Then there is the guy who never left, lol. He was supposed to work for Apple like half a year ago, In which I was going to nab his position. He never left... Anyway, he is actually going to be leaving soon, or so he says. He is pretty cool, but he does seem as if he is loosing his drive for the job. He is an RPG nut and I was quickly swept away with his knowledge. I believe that is his only specialization though so that makes sense. I do not know how much other knowledge he has, Ill find out come Sunday. There is another guy but he makes no hours. He has had the job for almost half a year and I just saw him for the 1st time this week. He is pretty damn cool though, I hope I see more of him. He is into alot more stuff than the rest of them. He is actually excited about the joystick im about to build too. Didnt have much time to observe him, but I get a good feeling. Every last one of these people will admit if they dont know, they will pass the baton if necessary. Every last one of them is pretty chill. I see them get excited but generally everyone is pretty chill. I on the other hand am an excitable person. On top of that, my gaming "comfort zone" practically everything but sports and family games. I will work on those though, but not a whole lot. I am the preverbal kid... the kid in this candy shop. I just need to make sure Im not a spaz. Honestly that is not an issue, it just a joke. But the Asst manager for instance gives logical comparisons if you were to hand him 2 games but he doesnt get riled. Im saying in his example, I am very different. I have never been to a store where everyone has a personality. Say if one guy is cool, everyone else blends into the background. This store is a gem, and that is one reason I waited on this store specifically. So yea, another entry into my crushing walls of text... I am certainly excited, no doubt. I will help make this store even more awesome.

I am opposed to LG. I had to take it back and replace it with what I got now. It was a better deal anyway. The LG I had, I dont remember the model, had a split second delay on the audio. I didnt want to take the chance on another LG

I remember the pic you posted some time ago, I expected to see that. Having a nook is pretty badass, but what you have now is superior. What? Are you drunk again?

I was tired last night but now I can formulate a response. Going into a GameStop should be an experience. Its the preverbal candy shop. Prices are fine by me, I generally buy used games and with the edge card I really got some value in. I dont like Walmart, they are a Scourge. I dont like Buying games anywhere else frankly. On top of that, when I go I peruse the used section for quite some time, double checking everything in case I missed something. ALOT of times I find a game I would have otherwise never known about, even considering how good it is. Example, Front Mission 4. My friend was telling me about it but I had long forgot. I picked it up new for pittles as no one ever bought it, and I believe it is one of the must have games. I have been to many GameStops that suck ass. The employees grease up any game and try to shove them up your ass. I have seen assholes as well as people who just do not know shit about games. I asked about Turok 3 or something years ago, to test this one guy who was always there. I dodnt like him, he was one of the assholes you want to avoid shopping at the store just in case he is there. The guy told me it was a good game. I know its all opinion, but not in this case. He knew NOTHING and tried his best to get me to buy it. That game ranked worst game of the year if I remember correctly. That is NOT how I do business, or anyone else including the manager at my store operate. We all like what we like, if they dont know about a game they pass the baton if someone else is an expert on that particular genre. There are no pressure sales tactics. No bullshit. Yea I appreciate awesome customer service. I appreciate a job done well, and a good attitude. Geniality, consideration all that shit. The other day I wanted Subway. There is one not a mile away but there is this girl there who fucking sucks ass. She is probably one of the worst sandwich artists I have ever seen. I worked a total of 5 years for Subway, and I am a master. That sounds ridiculous, but it is true. I know how to properly gauge and grade their performance from a personal professional background. Anyway, we drove by slowly and I saw a tall black dude. I was like cool, let go in. As we got to the door she came from the back and started to put on her gloves... in response to our approach. I literally spun on my heel and got back into the car. Shot a look inside and she was standing there staring at us. Fuck that bitch. She always makes the subs half assed, doesnt pre-heat the meat that is to be toasted, places the 4 tomatoes on a sandwich and says "what else" in a bitch ass tone. Fucking Cunt, theirs like 2 inches on either side that dont have tomato coverage. Scoot them bitches over and place another slice. "What else" what a bitch. Always seems as if she hates being there, says thank you or have a nice day or whatever, but it never feels like she is anywhere near sincere. This is a small example of her "service" I value good service so much I will remain loyal to places that make me feel at home and do whatever is necessary to ensure my satisfaction. I will travel miles out of my way to get good service. My fellow employees share my values, every last one, and I am totally excited to be working with them. They are all cool and are easy to talk to. So you say GameStop is for noobs. You can exclude me. I know what I like and now Im doing it for a living. Kick ass. Edit: Peopleofwalmart... awesome site!!!

I watched Iron Man 2 the other day. Lets just say I went to have a cigarette and just said, "text me if I miss something good" Fuck that movie! I can go on and on but I wont. Ill just say it was filled with shit and ended with shit. It WAS cool at parts, but those parts added up to about 10 minutes of cool. Oh yea, a while back I bought the complete 7 seasons of both STTNG and Voyager. Watched them all in sequence, back to back to back. Just as I thought I had long ago seen every episode of STTNG. Finding episodes here and there of Voyager that I havnt seen was pretty cool. They need a new Star Trek. I already have an outline for a concept I think would be fucking awesome. Perhaps I should write it up and try to pitch it! Yea... like I ever complete any good idea I have.

Lol. Shiba you reminded me of that fat bald guy on MTV years back that would connect the dots from people to people through movies, music and whatever other connections. Ie my Mothers hairdressers dogs groomer went to Subway, where Sam worked and he was the cousin of Tim who runs the shop down in Church Street. Tims kid plays Little league Football with the son of the guy who makes Philly Ice for my Moms boss every tuesday. To clarify, I dont care much for who published a game. I thought perhaps there was an easy way to tell if the name at the bottom of the box was merely the publishers, or the developers themselves. The fine example you made reminded me that it isnt as simple as a name anyway, as employees change hands, companies switch around, etc etc as was clearly described in your example. But a general gist of who touched the game is what Id like to have. The main reason, other than just because I want to know, is I like ALOT of stuff. Its not like normal gamers whereas they usually stick to 1 or 2 particular genres. I like everything but sports and family games. Ill play those, but Id rather not. Ill ask other employees or see if they can help the customer... whatever the situation entails, but since I have such a broad range of interests, Id like to know what I can.

Not in this fucking thread your not! Besides Emsley, he traded swag for the China experience. Good trade. Shiba, black friday is not far off! Perhaps you can grab a TV then! Having one spoils you, you will NEVER want to watch sports at someones house who doesnt have one, once you have one. Cinder, thats quite nice. Wish I had all my old systems and games... Yea in a living room having a bigger TV is nice. I see both you and Vincent upgraded due to this reason. In my room the 32" seems just right. I could always go bigger, if I wanted to shell it out but its unnecessary. I dont plan on a stereo system like Shiba said, as the Turtle Beach headphones give me everything I need. Heh... I forgot about the new chair. I still gotta test it out.

P.S. Fuck Walmart. I fucking hate buying games there. Yea yea Id pick up whatever game in your scenario. I did just that for FFXII, Im just saying.
-
LOL no... I dont care how old you are, lying on your side for more than 12 hours, even with brakes, will make you uncomfortable.
-
So yea, I love my job! I dont know what to say, other than I really like going to GameStop. I cant explain it. Perhaps it reminds me of Rhino Videogames when they were still around. Dunno. But I always liked coming to this store, and am really excited about working there.

No no yer good. I ment for me, as I made an error earlier saying Ogre Battle was made by Atlus, when all they did was publish it. Why I want to know... is if I havent played a game or know much about it, Id like to be able to gauge a game somewhat by who actually produced it. Of course if I am ignorant to a game I will not grease it up and try to shove it up someones ass like many other gamestores... Id just envision myself: " I havent played it so I cant say, but the guys who made (random good game) worked on this too. " Just to be able to help inform the customer of what they may be looking at. Or if they are big (whatever:game/company) fans I might be able to quickly come up with a few games that would suit their interests. There are alot of good games that dont get alot of recognition. I am basically ignorant to most goings on in the industry... I never made the time to keep up. I read the Game Informer so all I generally know is the spoon fed popular stuff. Now I just want to feed my curiosity. I was actually on Wiki earlier today cross referencing some stuff. Funny.

:Damn wallscroll is crooked! My "man cave". Pic is from my phone, sorry the real camera is broken. Went looking for a vertical case holder and found this 60 slot spine that mounts on the wall. There is my 32" Samsung and games. I have a love seat on the opposite wall and found an X rocker gaming chair for $15 today! I dont even intend to hook it up but I will test it to see if it works. Im interested to see how it preforms, with a subwoofer in your back. I found it at a thrift store looking for a new dressers and the vertical case holder... I couldnt believe it was so cheap! They had another model without speakers for the same price so I believe they didnt know what they had. Normally these are $60. When you sit in it, it leans back and its perfect posture for chillin' and playin' games. Normally I lay on the bed or lounge on the loveseat but I game for so fucking long, I get uncomfortable. Crook in my neck or sore from being extended on one side from laying out. Well Vincent posted his living room, pretty impressive collection along with his new big ass TV.

Thanks. Actually I bought built a castle. I have a moat and everything.

Interesting... more sources for information. No guys... your all missin' the whole damn point. *sigh* I know that most of this job will not need any extra information I do not already possess nor need extensive knowledge. I just want to know for knowledge sake. I like being prepared. I realize without knowing firsthand, knowing the difference between a developer and a publisher will be hard. There is no obvious signs of the difference. Im still looking into it though. And keeping a good tab on gaming news isnt necessarily a chore, its an excuse to immerse myself in the field. If I dont know oh well. But if I do know... Awesome! I just want to know shit. Im doing this cause I want to, not because I think its necessary.

Yeeeep, called it.
-
Alright thanks, Ill check it out too.
-
Well I can understand that then. I like so many things, I practically have something to talk about to anyone. I just got back from the shop, filled out my paperwork and all, talked to alot of ppl, had a great time! This is fantastic, I already love my job, and I havent even been put on the schedule.
-
Me too. I just hit 260 lbs!!! I gained 30 lbs in 7 months! Remember when I was going to start working out? Well... just like my joystick, I started then stopped. LOL jobless for so long, gaming and eating filled me out. There isnt much to do, not like in Central Florida. All excuses. I am buying a bike, and riding to work every day. I will also start walking on days I dont work, at the very least. Then... once my heart can handle doing extended extraneous activities, I will indeed begin to work out. I have said this before, about a great many things, but DUDE!!! Im FAT! How the FUCK did I let this happen. Before I was just stocky... now I am fat. Not Obese... but Fat. To all you fat guys, no offense. I just like to be able to breathe right when I tie my shoes. I should take pics so I can see how bad I let myself go. An no one is going to see them until I burn that shit right off. Good thing my skin is stretchy... or Id have sagging skin from hell.

Yes, the used section often surprises me. If Chrono Trigger on the DS or that Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii come into the store again, Ill be in a position to nab it quick. No window shopping for you guys either? Am I the only one who gets excited about STUFF?! I will take this into account... I will try my best not to help anyone feel even more uneasy in my store. I can honestly say I dont quite get it though, I am so eager to go into GameStop. I often go in just to look... no particular reason, other than just to scope stuff out. I generally go once a week. I look at accessories, used games for DS, 360. Then everything else. Toys & wallets/keychains always get my notice, but I never buy them. I like stuff!
-
Im going to send him some Bat Gear... Whats your size Inky?
-
Thanks man! Yea, My store is definitely the latter. Ill fit right in, everyone is real cool and we generally all like all types of games. The boss likes Halo, Im not a fan. It is set up like this, no over specialization. I on the other hand love GameStop. I like window shopping and GameStop has plenty of stuff. What makes the experience great is when the employees are laid back and chill. No bullshit sales pitches, just ppl talking about whatever. I am the only one I know who can spend HOURS at a time at GameStop. For instance I'll look at all the used titles... go back and look at them ALL again to see if I missed something. I never feel out of place, if I am at a bad store like Gryph describes, I feel as if THEY are out of place. Even if I am not going to buy anything, I like looking at stuff. Of course I was the kid who read my Game Magazines over and over. Sidenote: I dont know if this has anything to do with it... I was grounded from games for a good while, like over a year. I still had my love for games and would read contently about stuff in EGM (before '92). (Gamefan was the first awesome game magazine I can remember, wide pages, awesome content. First print was September of '92). My mom at first thought I was torturing myself, but learned I was content to read about games... I was truly content. Perhaps this "window" shopping element remains. I really really like games. I also really like just looking at anything game related. I fell like the preverbal "kid in a candy store" and I will bring this child like wonder with me to work, as I always do when I step in the store. I hate buying my games anywhere else. Buying my games at Walmart is a joke... they always have the maximum prices and well... its WalMart. GameStop is not like most anything else. I feel right at home.

Well as I read up on gamin news from all the sites mentioned by my fellow members, Agozer & Akihiro, I need to listen to some music. Ill be here for awhile. I have not gotten on my playlists, I have practically NO music. Well I figure video game remixes seems fitting, so im back to OC Remix after some time. Problem is there is alot of bullshit, just like regular music. I have to crawl through lists and lists cause now, years and years later, there is ALOT of material... its very daunting. Getting songs as we speak, downloading as I see fit. I will have quite the collection after a short while. I will list here, at a later time, all the songs I think are worth a damn.
