  1. What was that one game, Warhammer was it? I always wanted to try that. Well motion controls are one thing. Im sure its tremendously hard to make a game use it well and have it operate intuitively... You can always add more components... but what of a camera that reads your movements. There is a delay, no doubt about it. Say a racing game and your going ~175 MPH and you need to hit the brake then release then make a precision maneuver to take a turn or angle the fastest you can without loosing it... how can you do this with a delay??? Its so gimmicky... but then again so is 3D entertainment. Id love to see the day where something is filmed in awesome 3D but there are no cheap gimmicks. I was most impressed with Avatar when it was just a pan of floating islands. Had so much depth but there was no bullshit in your face. It reminds me ... Just because you have the ability to do something doesnt mean you should abuse it. But isnt that how marketing goes. Dumb people are drawn to flash. MORE FLYING SWORDS! I will watch this new RE movie but I am prepared for gimmick overload. Its a shame when good ideas are ruined for marketing reasons. We need real revolutionists, not gimmick manufacturers.
  2. Well then thanks Some of these guys faces arent widely known on the forum anyway. I remember a pic of you Agozer, your head on a desk. iq_132 & KyokugenKiss I dont recall ever seeing, Wizard & Weirdy havent posted pics in years. Why isnt Gryph up here. He looks like a sexy Mohinder Suresh/ Sayid Jarrah combo
  3. Yes being on the opposite side of the planet would be taxing on many levels. I foresee a sense of loneliness being so far away. Its not like I have visited Florida since I moved but if something were to happen, I could get there within a day at best. Id not be able to leave so easily if something were to happen. Ryan mention "more questions" since he has the rest of the month off due to testing and he is bored. Id hate to get cabin fever in a place so foreign. But then again Id be seeing sights and culture first hand and that is quite exciting. It's not like I can just play games when bored either. For awhile now I have been so fucking bored with games, my only joy now is when my sister and I go do something. For instance the fair was just here. What would I do in times of absolute boredom? LOL But then again I could commit myself to studies of Mandarin and further my lesson plans... Id have a real job so work could distract me. I could absorb myself in self growth. How badass would this look on a resume!? And Id not be gone forever. I've already been here a year. An entire year has flown by. Im sure my time in China would come and go before I knew what happened. But you never know. I may have more value than I know... perhaps this is a career in the making. You never know. I do know I will do well. But what of law. What if I were to do something that got me in trouble? For instance: What if a guy pulled a knife on someone else and I took him out. Would I be guilty of beating someones ass till I was absolved? What other dangers are there? Of course I have alot of questions I will pose to Ryans superior... I'll be fully aware of the situation soon enough. But I take a step back and look at what this is. An opportunity to experience a world I have only read about or seen on monitors. I can only imagine how the rice fields look with my own eyes. I do plan on taking trips and seeing everything I can. Needless to say Id buy a camera and take so many pictures. But I need to be objective. Am I interested cause it sounds awesome? I must be certain this is what I want and not some half cocked adventure. I say this... Id be truly committed to the job im assigned. To teach others to speak my native language. Even considering unforeseen challenges, I know Id excel at this. Hmmmmm.
  4. Well Ryan is in China and there is more opportunity the next semester. I am intrigued by this opportunity. To work on the opposite side of the planet, in one of the most rich and oldest of civilizations. I keep saying opportunity and this is a big one. This is outside the box for me. I can have such a great experience. And on top of the obvious sights and wonders, Id actually be contributing to the world. Not some crap job where I work for the man, but to teach. There are many questions I have, general and specific. Questions I must ask myself. Am I interest in this because it's easy? To make games or to be an artist, years of school are required and then much refinement. This job does seem easier to obtain in relative terms. My sister is in school to be a teacher. I have seen some of what she has to do. This seems somewhat unfair if you follow my meaning. I would excel in this situation. I am excitable and am charismatic. Im sure I could make this interesting to those I teach. The teachers I remember most made learning fun. That sounds cheesy but these teachers made things real to me. They didnt say read this and than and here is a test and then sit behind a desk the remainder of the period... The best teachers I've had were engaging. They were happy to be there and were not shy on their methods on interaction. I have much more to say but I'll stop here. This is what I want now. Seriously now... I need points of view. Id appreciate a devils advocate too. I need a debate here. Pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages.
  5. Well you did mention shy lol Alright. I was thinking about this when Ryan left but I choose not to. Next term is on its way and I find myself thinking about it again. Ill list more questions here... but I may make a new thread cause I dont want to hijack this one. How has your stomach adapted to the food. I realize things are quite different. Something I am interested in is eating food that isnt genetically mutated. For instance our super chickens. I bet Chinese could ride our Chickens into the sunset. : Do you find the food... generally, not dishes, but for instance chicken... is it more flavorful than our bland mega chicken? : Are you still running to the toilet often? : Speaking of toilet... you say theirs are quite rank. How do you cope with what I imagine you mean. : A 10 hour trip (one way?) to Walmart. You see... I like butter. With such a great distance to travel for certain odds and ends... How big is the refrigerator in your apartment??? Foreigners are always intriguing. For instance, Emsley could come over here and get laid with a quickness. Most not ugly brits can. Same for pretty much anyone... Id be enamored with a pretty Scottish chick to be honest. So, that being said. Ryan your as tall as I am, and were American. : How do people respond to your presence. I imagine you walking down a street looking at shops with head and shoulders above everyone else. And everyone notices you and takes more than just a casual glance. : Do you ever notice disgusted looks or evil glances. You ARE a foreigner. I imagine some may not take your presence kindly.
  6. haha I always knew you were a little cocky. I did not vote because I created the poll and have to remain unbiased. HAHAHAHA I edited that... but you quoted before I could remove it. I may be heavier than ever... but still
  7. Well the market is suffering from a lack of innovation. Its flooded with games that are... I wish I could say substandard, but with so many shitty games, lackluster games are the norm. As for the motion control, I wouldnt say it was a lack of creativity. They must keep afloat with trends or suffer a horrible loss on the market. Nintendo is doing well, as usual, as their 3DS is coming and 3D is the next step on the path. I believe our next generation consoles will be 3D capable... Just better 3D technology still has a way to come. Once the monitors that dont require glasses are here... This motion control is bullshit of course. See who its marketed for? See that stupid animal thing for Xbox? Its not for me. I dont see any good games utilizing this technology, especially with its latency. Remember when they said you can steer an imaginary steering wheel? With latency... it would be garbage. To hell with anything that lacks precision. Anyway, Id say their just following the trends to keep their share of the market. Id not describe it as a lack of innovation, as the market in its entirety is lacking. Floods of games that are dull or just plain garbage. Even alot of the decent games are crap!
  8. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair & Lords of Shadow
  9. Retards... that did NOT look fun Did you see the delay on that thing?
  10. My sister has those shoes in pink. I've been watching Lost. I never watched it before so now was a good time to start. Anyway, Kate... Evangeline Lilly is ridiculously cute. Practically fell in love with her from watching the show.
  11. Ninja scooter simulator? WTF I dont even think a clueless grandmother would buy that based on title alone. The box art is indeed rancid. " High resolution graphics " " One megabit memory " This is so much more than not knowing about the game... There is so many things bad with it I dont know where to start.
  12. Hell... I met a girl a while back at work. She would come in every so often and grab a blunt and smokes. We would flirt and be done quicklike. Well, one day I kept talking and we were having an interesting conversation. She is in school to be a nurse so we mostly talked about that. I finally asked for her #. Well alittle time went by and we went on a date. Nothing crazy, we grabbed some breakfast, went to the beach and shot some billiards and walked the beach. We went out one more time but thats irrelevant. I called it off... it just didnt feel right. She was beautiful and so on... but she was too young. She had just hit 20 and Im 32. You see, I've been down that younger chick road a few times. There were gaps in shared perspective. She was just too green, like a rookie in combat. Its a damn shame too 'cause she gamed. It want just the age though, as I met someone before I left Florida. Christy. Shes like 21 or so now but the issue there was she was already taken. The focus of this story is its not the women... there are many variables in why someone is lonely. I see this "understanding them" jazz but that is ridiculous. Life is a mix of both random elements and providence. Chance and fate. I believe right place right time is just as important as who it is your meeting or talking to. Someone might ask why they are alone, what kind of "fate" would allow them to be by themselves for so long. I would counter with... "Whats the divorce rate?" Reality check, most of us are lonely. Only a small amount of people actually find "true love" which is a relative term. Many think its a myth. Why do you think there are dating services and the like?
  13. One thing I can equate to this, is motivation. I have none for the time being, and through this, I relate to the issue. I get bored of my games, I get bored of media in general. I dont ever want to go out and shoot some pool with the fellas or go and work out. My metobalism has reduced to zero. I had one burger today... one. Im still full. My clothes are getting tighter and I dont eat... Im stuck in a loop and it as if I dont want to pull myself out of the whole. Motivation.
  14. Its hard... but perhaps you need perspective. Perhaps a walkabout? I actually know what you mean... what little you mentioned. You sound burned out and depressed.
  15. Yes I will, I always do. And Im very harsh when it comes to the details. True...
  16. LOL it wont be long before they take it down... or us either.
  17. Yea grinding in this game is more fun that running back and forth waiting for random encounters like in a rpg. Last night I was with a couple of friends in public then they dipped. I ended up in a 2 man posse and we started working on our outlaw challenges. We ended up becoming an 8 man posse and held a fort in mexico with alot of cannons. We held it down so well. We all go a bounty of over $5000 each so we were all most wanted at one point. When that happens your Icon becomes a skull and other players get the bounty if they kill you. People came from far and wide to take us but none of them were high enough level to have a sniper rifle apparently, as no one tried to take us at long range... mistake. By the time the others were trying to take us I mastered the cannon. I musta blew them up from over 500 yards over and over. It was a fun night.
  18. Not exactly. They appearently manually postured the wireframe, so they tried their "best" to make a match (perhaps) but it isnt the same. I tried to hunt down the pic of Morigan shooting at Iron Man, thats when it hit me. But if you look at hulk with his ducking fierce... I notice my issue isnt just the posture... perhaps its the models themselves. The models arent right. I can go on and on and make my point but my pizza was just delivered. Suffice to say, the models dont... "stretch" example. Hulks lats (long muscle running from armpit to bottom of ribcage) stay in place so in that ducking fierce move his arms are above his head but his lats dont wing out. they stay where they would be if his arms were down. It looks ridiculous. I think it is a combination of posturing and character models. What we see in these pics better be the preliminaries. Otherwise Capcom is on my list. List of companies that dont try hard enough.
  19. Im not sure how dueling works 100% Sometimes Ill target the gun but he never shoots and I die. (the german guy specifically) Faqs say when your bar is filled you fire so I'll need to experiment. Also, sometimes I target the gun then it kept targeting his arm with 5 more locks without my consent. When it was over his arm had 5 bullets in it when I was only trying to disarm. I also tried to disarm then shoot off a his hat and it locked onto his head with the remaining 4 shots. (random duel)
  20. Actually... it looks like the cause of death was possession by the spirit of Jason.
  21. So you have no concerns about the stiff unnatural posture of the characters?
