I died once, maybe twice on the chapter 5 boss. Im not gloating at all... Im just saying Paradigm shifts are paramount now. This is about the start of when shit really gets interesting! Stuff is going to get rougher. OK... I like how the game progresses. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Yea Sazh and Vanille are quite weak. But not really. Thats what I thought at first. Paradigm shifts are now commonplace to you guys. Say you start with a SYN SAB, then RAV RAV, Then COM RAV, then COM MED when you need to heal. Yea its a pain in the ass at first, but there teaching you by forcing you to adapt to the gameplay. I like how you always play as different people. I remember always playing with the same people for the most part in other games where you had a choice. This go round they force you to play as different parties. And in so, familiarize you with each characters pros and cons, on top of it flows with the story! Soon you will have your full party. Trust me... you'll have alot of time to switch out back and forth finding your dream teams. Tell you what, I don't even use Snow anymore. I have 2 main teams. General exploration, Lightning/Fang/Hope and Adamantoise hunters Vanille/Sazh/Hope. You just ned to find what Paradigms work for your party. Sazh and Vanille... Sazhs COM is kinda weak. You'll note his STR and MAG are low, but his HP is high. So you might find battles flow quicker by starting out with SYN/SAB... except for the fodder battles. I would say that upgrading weapons are unnecessary at this point... but if you must go ahead. I didnt upgrade much of anything until chapter 9, I believe your troubles are attaining efficient Paradigms. As for the leveling System, I like it. No DEF, SPEED anything like that. Just the 3 stats and various skills. It works. Just focus on what is... and view the gorgeous game as you go. The game does look good! Paradigm shifts are the focus here. Finding the flow for each subsequent party is the gameplay challenge.

I have seen this decline since Mid Jan 2008. I joined on my Bithday in 07 it was very active. And even then the Original members claimed it wasnt what it used to be. My reply here is almost automatic, as I have mentioned and remarked on this subject for over 2 years now, and it gets worse and worse. It will have moments of activity, then die out even further. Gryph is hardly around, Bambi, BK, Solidius, Fumanchu, Cinder, Robert, Mooney etc etc etc dont show up at all or nearly as much. Inky is likely the only guy who keeps up here, followed by Agozer, Weirdy, Emsley, And you. And what Im referring to is the lounge. I can assume Britneys Pairs and IQ and the Xbox emulation Dream team are always updating and posting it there. Emulation is dead. There is nothing new. Everything has been done or has had a million upgrades. This site is likely visited by guests that linked from google to learn about whats best. And of course the asshats that cant find roms. I mean common! How can someone NOT find roms? Google... then follow links... I have a folder of bookmarks of awesome to good Rom sites. We are plagues with is disease thats rotting the site for the last bit. I come here for the lounge. I talk about whatever. I used to try and keep active topics... Unexplained happenings, Dreams, etc. Try as I might to keep interesting threads... no one visits anymore. What can be done? Fuck if I know, I've tried for so long to slow its decline... much less reverse it. It would take constant interesting topics... and other things to entice others to return if even alittle bit... then a snowball effect from there, building interest each time they return to hit the point where its poppin again. But I can only see interesting topics in non emulation forums. What else can we post? How many awesome game threads can we have? FAS is gone, Arcades hasnt been up since I've joined. I don't know if there is anything anyone can do... I've said this all before multiple times... and nothing changes. If something were to change... It would take more than you and me, it would take everyone. I dont see that happening. All thats left is non emulation discussion... which is not the namesake. :dead:

Well the NPC's will do the same and you cant hit repeat for them... Repeat will again regain its usefulness. Adamantoise for instance. I switch when I need to heal, and I make everyone heal... anyway, Repeat works fantastically in that battle. No, but still... why wouldnt the NPC's cap your health? That just plain stupid.

The game isnt for everyone. My friends do not play as much as I do... I'm a fiend. Hardcore indeed. Yea there is alot of good music in the game. Although I find Lewis' song ... or rather vocals irritating. I don't know why... I just dont dig it. But the song is fine. But there are some songs in the game that grind my nerves. Chapter 6 music and an area in chapter 11 as well, off the top of my head. I remember a few more but not where the music was played. I wish the AI played out alittle better. I notice healers will not cap out your health. Once your in the green, it'll use only 1 cure at a time. I have alot of HP. I have a thousands of HP to go at the beginning of green to cap out. Why will the AI not heal me proper?! Synergists. They have a pre determined set of buffs they will go through... sometimes I wish they would do something different according to the enemy. If only they had some type of gambit system, it'd be perfect.

Hells yea! Well thats the price you pay for a decent career, but you already know this. Im 94 Hrs in... Still plenty of grinding to do. If anyone has any questions (360), hit me up on 360. I don't check out the threads here more than once a day or so since im off of vacation. I seem to be the FFXIII support line since it came out. Apparently I have better strategy than the guide!

Commando keeps the bar from running down fast, Ravanger boosts the chain gauge quickly. You WILL get a surplus of cp, when that happens build the other mains equally. If your asking for which to focus on, Id not focus on Hopes Synergist skills 1st. Buffing skills are not necessary but you never know. Just be sure to have some magic attacks for hope, Slash and burn should be the most used at this stage of the game. Dont sweat it though, You should be getting alot of cp... your in chapter 5? I beat the game last night... Let me tell you where I am now, cp doesnt come in fast enough. Shit costs insane amounts!!!

Yea deeper in the game you will find yourself switching paradigms often. I'll note, that the stronger you get, battles will get tougher to attain 5 stars. Well, certain battles I always got 5 stars on I now get 4 as I'm expected to kill them quicker. I believe I am forced to rethink my strategy. Launch is very very handy. I find myself canceling out and waiting so my attacks keep them juggled.

I have hope... although Although the visionary just did make a Mickey mouse game... He claims they ruined mickey and fractured his character so long ago, he wrote his thesis on that basis. And he got the opportunity to fix Mickey... but still. Its Mickey, the game is stupid. The Deus Ex creator may have lost his thunder. He better be on this and he better save his reputation! I'll stick to hope.
-
HELL YEA! Um... they had better learn their lesson from #2. GRYPH, where are you? Do you see this? It's on.
-
Well it get more and more challenging! I love the hell out of this game! I often have battles where I shift paradigms 20 times or so. Sometimes way more. Yea, just focus on attaining 5 stars and you'll be good.

Each weapon had different strength/magic levels, as well as special effects. But there is no real "better weapon" Each weapon has 3 tiers. Beginner, intermediate, and uber. You can only obtain 1st tier weapons in the game, so you MUST level them to get stronger. The weapon Im using capped out at 26. At max level you can evolve the weapon, (with a special catalyst) and I guess it goes down by 1/2 so I imagine lvl 13. (havent evolved yet) Once evolved, the level cap is higher, in this case, Edge Carbines tier 2 level cap is 61, then all tier 3 weapons cap out at 100. So you can see why I needed that formula so damn bad! As for accessories, your idea is true at first. I had an Iron bangle, 50+hp. Then I got a Silver Bangle, 100+hp. It is the evolved version of my first one. So upgrading accessories early on is a waste of components. But Baangles and a few other accessories are the only ones that have a bunch of upgraded versions. Any Amulets you have only have 1 more evolution, so you cannot obtain it otherwise. Rings are similar. Id not dismantle things just yet. Upgrading weapons is not moot. At chapter 9, I upgraded a magic boosting weapon for Lightning (16) and Hope (13), and a physical weapon for Fang (13). I basically used relentless assault. Two ravagers and a commando. This way I ate through the chain meter and obliterated the broken opponents, juggling them endlessly in the air once Fang launched them up when they broke. If I had not done this, I might not have been able to consistently gotten 5 star ratings on the soldiers I was grinding and subsequently not obtained so many incentive chips. (2500 credits each) Once I hit chapter 10 I sold all chips, and had ~115,000 credits. (5 star ratings increases the odds of item drops, including rare items) As for the means to upgrade, I grinded alittle in a few areas, the slugs for example. They often dropped Oils. You should have enough suplies to at least upgrade a bit at chapter 9 which I recommend. You'll have some chips from chapter 8 and before, so purchasing some components from the shops is the way to go. Edit;memory refresh: Organic components first, (1 at a time to efficiently use each increase in xp bonus. 1.25/ 1.5 etc) then using Insulated Cabling (if your at chapter 9) in bulk to benefit from the multiplier. Id use all your money at the beginning of chapter 9 on the cabling, IF you have 3 choice weapons already at x3 xp. Trust me, if your raping soldiers in the halls like I was... grinding there will net you a TON of cash. Remember 5 stars... Winding hallways. (soldiers/huntresses) Then you'll have plenty of cash to upgrade as you see fit later.

See my other thread. I'll answer that there. Yea sorry, What I posted was an example. I knew in said example I needed 5500 total.
-
Is there Iron in strawberries? Oh... turns out they are rich in Iron... what about the bite of cake though... lol Im sticking with my theory. It sounds cooler lol
-
Yes, kind of. Im trying to see the total experience required to reach max level. That way I know how many components to dump. When you use mechanical components it reduces the xp multiplier that I built up with organic components, so I need to know the total xp required so I can use basically, the exact amount of items all at once to benefit from the multiplier. All this requires a substantial investment. I dont want to add the increment X amount of times then add the #'s together... but I will if I must. no, level 1 = 0 xp, thats where you start. level 2 requires 100 xp. level 3 requires 200 xp. So a total of 300 xp was used to reach lvl 3. 100+200+300+400+500+600+700+800+900+1000=5500 Its been ~15 years since I was awake in a math class. I'll give it a go (2*a+(n-1)*d)*n/2 (2X100+(10-1)X100)X10/2 (2X100+9X100)X10/2 200+900X10/2 1100X10/2 11000/2 ----------- 5500 OH HELL YES! THANK YOU! You have no idea... well your a gamer so perhaps you do. You saved me alot of time. Imagine taking a value, writing it out each time adding incremental increase, then adding all those values together (sometimes 55 levels) and 3 times per weapon, 6 weapons, 6 characters, and the insane amount of accessories and each respective upgrade to them as well. You saved me alot of paper lol as well as time. Fucking awesome!
-
Yes. if I need 10 levels, and the xp necessary increases by the same # each time, How do I calculate the needed Xp considering the incremental increase? It doesnt matter, I can always do it the long way... but it bothering me... I want to know how to do it quickly and I cant find the solution To hell with it, I gotta get back to it. Perhaps I'll see if anyone knows later on.
-
... If you start from 100, and add 100 every time, the increment of increase is 100. Im trying to figure this out for leveling purposes. Incremental increase of 100 lvl 2 100xp needed lvl 3 200xp needed lvl 4 300xp needed lvl 5 400xp needed lvl 6 500xp needed lvl 7 600xp needed lvl 8 700xp needed lvl 9 800xp needed lvl 10 900xp needed lvl 11 1000xp needed A total of 5500xp is needed to hit lvl 11 in my example. How can I quickly calculate incremental increase? You could take 100 and add 100 over and over, then add each of the dividends and add them together to get the final answer, but there should be a formula to calculate this.
-
I lost alot of my math prowess... even though, this SHOULD be simple for me. But nooooo for easy example starting from 100 and an increment of 100. 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900 1000 --------- 5500 if I start from 100, and every time it increases by 100, a total of 10 times = 5500 ... how can I calculate this quickly?

You like Australian porn?

Exactly... Magneto CAN pick you up if you dont have metal on/in you. I think it has something to do with the electrons but what the hell do I know. Electrons work on the same principle as magnets soooooo
-
I remember watching about this discovery. Came across it again and decided to share. This is actual levitation without adding anything at all, no tricks... just ultra intense magnetism. They even levitated a bite of cake!

You better be taking pictures! You... better have a camera!

Krosigrim replied to L.S.D's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Booooooooooooo. All 3 of them were badass.
