  1. Excellent. Knowing is half the battle. Perhaps Ill find the file now. Dozens of hours? That sound on the lite side. Regardless, its running in the background right now. I appreciate the info. The more I play, the more Im drawn in. Back to it.
  2. Great. Guess all I can do is find a compiler that'll work this Mac angle.
  3. Hell yea Skullomania is pretty damn strong. His moves are easy to pull off and they cover so many situations. I liked alot of the characters from this series. Side rant When I retrieved a movelist, I noticed Garuda, Kairi, Shadow Geist and Hayate. They are not selectable yet and I am currently trying to remedy this. One source says Source And another says Source Well F2 brings up the Service Mode and I can get to the color menu from there... its the basic Configuration menu. If I Tab then go to Dip switches, there are 2 unknown switches... they do nothing, (I guess) thought baybee itd be the characters... Im currently running through with each character and just chipping away at this score trial (assuming this is the actual way to unlock the characters) I remember seeing something where someone was manually altering high scores. I looked to do this but didnt remember what he did, and cant currently find that material I read it in. I look for cheats, hoping I can find some kinda file to grab or something to get this working, but all I ever find is PS cheats. I downloaded the owners manual for the cabinet but there is NO mention of this AT ALL. How fucking lame is that? Ahh well. Time to chip away somemore... hopefully it is indeed the score method... seems weird but I saw a video of it working for SF EX. The instructions on the first source are pretty specific... the characters to unlock are indeed from EX2 plus. Hope it works... Otherwise according to the other source, without a quick fix I gotta let it run forever.
  4. I have gotten back into arcade emulation again lately and came across the Street Fighter EX series again. It's been sooooo long since I played any EX, last Century in fact. As I get into SFEX2+ I remember how much I liked this series, this branch of Street Fighter. I never really got into SFIII but I am familiar with all other SF (fighting) games (to my knowledge) Perhaps it's just nostalgia, but EX2+ feels more like Street Fighter than SF4. I have waaaay more fun on this over SF4. And Hakkan... WTF I said it once, again, It shouklda been Darun. When I last said this someone (I cant remember) said they treat the EX series like it never happened. And its true. The only things that came from EX is that guard crush thingy. Perhaps something else but whatever. These characters and move lists... Ryu with his multiple input hurricane kick, where as Ken retains the spinning version. Lots of other things ill not mention, but anyone who likes the EX series knows what I mean. Some of these characters ore overpowered... lol Garuda, but the game holds fast. But lately SF has gotten different. 4 is solid, but it just doesnt feel the same anymore. I can play Alpha 3 or EX2+ and the feeling is there... And I still got it Some have said as they grow older their reflexes slow... perhaps this is so but I totally destroy kids at old school games. Put some hot shot Black Ops kid on some goold 'ole Golden Eye on the 64... even with that busted ass controller I will obliterate.
  5. OK. ME1 was alright but felt sterile... somewhat. This feeling becomes apparent when you fist see ME2 in action. As the story progresses you can feel the difference. Anyway there are 6 classes to choose from, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I like Vanguard. You come across new teammates and each have their own advantages. You basically play as a 3 person team and wreck shit. Enemies are dynamic and have their own str/weak too. For instance weak to fire. You level up as you progress and customize your character the way you see fit. Between the Talents and Powers, you also have specializations. Lots of options for ability sets, and team combos. Ive seen a group of enemies frozen on the spot, all icy... Then I bowled them over and shattered the lot of them with my shockwave. At the press of a button, your teammates can go to the location your reticule is aimed, you let them attack or take cover, things like that. Like KOTOR at any time you can pause time to make selections like what move you and your teammates are about to do and on who. Then let it roll and everyone does their part instantly. Take a sec to think about what class your going to choose. Like I said, I like Vanguard: Charge and Shockwave are amazing. Bowl enemies away at a distance, or charge in and crush them all personal like. When Charging, you are invincible. You also have lift and throw and a barrier you can raise, not to mention Warp... that lowers theyre DEF and does damage over time. Choices of Fire or Ice ammo, pistols/shotguns, with perks like Health/Weapon Damage++/Melee Damage/Damage reduction/Power reload time. All this BEFORE you take specializations into account. masseffect.wikia/Classes I really like the game. It's not often I play a game that takes itself seriously. This game is for adults. No silly bullshit, no fucking coming of age high school drama bullshit JRPG's are so fond of. No whining or annoying anecdotes. In fact every aspect of story and character interaction has a distinctly realistic feel to it. Sure its Psudeo Star Wars with lasers and robots and all sorts of shit... this game is more realistic than games that root themselves in the real... and I base this comparison on ME2's Lore, plot development and character interactions alone. It feels right. There. A short 1-2 by a fanboy. Hope that answers your question.
  6. Um yea... still no progress. Why the fuck would you TAKE OUT functionality for Hiscore keeping on the old games... this is a personal program. So what if there is a save state... (thats the excuse they gave for dropping the main support.) Got to add damn U files to get it to work... thats stupid. Perhaps Ill look for some type of Win to Mac Diff file changer fixer thingy. Wow... how about I try to google that... I dont know how diffs work exactly, but it should just change the "difference" the new coding provides right? Like Save hi scores etc... Well when I pop that diff open it looks like win command lines... on top of that half the damn thing looks part note pad rather than just a program.
  7. Wow that sounds simple. I had to get a driver for my PS3 controller to function on this Mac. Not... that that was hard or anything... Yea Tab open the menu to set up controls. I suggest using the "input general/player 1 controls/" first. Set up basic buttons and dont forget to make select coins. You can of course input specific buttons for each game after that. Now... back to my Street Fighter EX 2 Plus
  8. All I want is to be able to play and not have to worry about saving state after I'm done with a game. I want to preserve the scores I get. I know that some of the .dat files are unsupported on various versions, can one get hiscore.dat to work on OS X? Its V 0.135. I read something about using some auditor program that helps with mame builds where you want to add a "u" file but all those programs are for windows. Can I make 0.135 open up and do as I wish? Its frustration trying to track this down, all I get are dead ends and run around to previously viewed material. Fucking hell, Guess Ill look into alternatives... in case there is no solution. Wonder what other versions I can get running on this mac... better versions? EDIT: I also added the .diff patch (135) but thats where im cut short http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=64298.0 I figure I need that auditor as mentioned but these directions are confusing to me...
  9. Agree and endorsed. Hopefully I can play before tomorrow night. If not I'll be the wild card, In which case Ill pick who I think should work for me. Ill likely pick Spiderman. I guess Ill watch some videos and see who has the more appropriate menu to make a team.
  10. Thank you and yes... Combo moves from MvC2, like Spider Mans jumping in Lp, Lk, Lp, Lk would be L,L,L,L in MvC3... which I doubt. Im trying to imagine combo strains go in this game. When you hit the pop up button, I hear something like you can hit a direction and the button, and the only way to counter is hitting the same direction and the pop up button. Can I hit down and the pop up the first time? Then what, a quick down up to pursue? Can you pursue then have a tag hit, or do you have to choose one or the other? These other characters you dont like... have you tried playing them differently than how you normally play? I remember A friend using Link in a Soul Calibur and he said in order for him to play well, he cannot act like normal characters...
  11. Is it so, L M H attk buttons, no real punch or kick button? Are combos cookie cutter, or are they unique Is it set like MvC2 where if you dont combo like hell youll run out of time? As in, is the only way to play right is practical infinite combo like a bitch? ETC. Whatever else you can say about it.
  12. So... those who have played it. START TALKING! I have not played it, need info.
  13. Hell yea you would. D licious Well PepperJack would be good too, but Cinder, you must try some good cornbread. Its a simple enough food, I know its a southern thing... But damn if it isnt good. I guess I could try another cheese next time but the Cheddar goes great. Pro Tip... separate the cheese cubes BEFORE dumping them into the batter!
  14. So how does anyone know how this measures up to Tatsonoku vs Capcom? There will be a competition at my Gamestop come release night... I wonder if I should get TvsC and get some practice in. Buy it used... If its available, then return it and put that money toward MvC3. Im looking at movelists off of eventhumbs... I see that they use weak, medium, fierce attacks... not punches or kicks... but Light, Medium, Heavy. So down forward could be a fireball but down back and the very same button is hurricane kick. Then they have a pop up button... that'll be awkward for me.
  15. Im about to make a batch of Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread. Easy enough to make. Im not following a strict recipe... Im winging it... again. Basically its some simple cornbread mix, witha ton of chopped Jalapenos and cubes of Cheddar cheese. Two boxes of Jiffy Corn muffin mix, about 1/2 or so 3/4 maybee, of a cup (each) of chopped Jalapenos and Cheddar cheese cut into small cubes. You can add alittle shredded cheese but you MUST use the cubes or this just doesnt work. Simple. For what I have, I'll preheat to 400 and take 2 boxes of mix, add 2 eggs and 2/3 of a cup of milk in a mixing bowl and blend. Let it rest until the oven is ready. Once preheated, pour the peppers and cheese into the mix, blend perfectly, then pour into whatever its gonna cook in. (realize its bread and will double in size from its "liquid" form.) Im using 2 boxes of 8.5 OZ cornbread. so id say somewhere around 17 Oz requires around 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of chopped Jalapenos and Cheddar cheese. Im just throwing measurements out there so if you are to make some, you know about where you stand. If you dont have enough Jalapenos or Cheese, the whole thing is just a waste of time. Its the spice... plus all the awesome cheese that makes each bite awesome... through and through Now Im using a muffin mix, so the time for baking is off. Im not making muffins, just these little boxes were on sale, $.49 each. Says 15-20 min but it took alittle linger last time. Now... you NEED to try this before you talk shit. Add some butter and this shit is awesome! I'll post pics when I finish it... that is if anyone actually cares. Ahh... Gryph needs to try this. Everytime I do a thread like this its something he doesnt eat... It's cheap ('cept the cheese) it easy, and its awesome. I wonder what would go with this... what would make this a meal???
  16. Perhaps one day. I just wish they would remake Darius Gaiden for the Arcade Marketplace on 360. Id settle witha hard transfer, but Id really like an upgrade on the 'ole game.
  17. Tip... be sure to do everyones side shit before you get legion or rather, progress after getting him. I seem to remember having an issue with turns of events.
  18. You make a very solid point. Gameplay on most "remakes" or "sequels" have upgraded. Those that do not risk stagnant gameplay. Same 'ole shit. But on that very same coin, there are those who tried to upgrade and failed miserably. Look at Front Mission. Im just sick of the same shit. Castlevania Los & Darksiders took pages from Onimusha, sure it worked but it points out redundancy. With those two games, one should be able to look at what makes a game like that... a game like that... and begin from scratch. But whatever they do it had better be on the same vein as Dawn of Dreams... my favorite. Black Oni is badass.
  19. Hitsparks??? The hitsparks look perfect with the art direction they took. I do not see how you two can say this about the sparks only, and nothing else about the art of the game...
  20. Um... yea. I didnt read a thing & skipped right to the end to say this... GROW UP! That is not to say I do not need to either. But for the love of pete grow a pair. Thats step #1: Growing Up/A Pair Stay tuned for further instruction.
  21. Dead Space 2 and Two Worlds II. Two games on Tuesday
  22. These next Tekkens better not have anything as weak as the roulette wheel on T6. The "lucky" slot is 1 of 4 pains. Logic suggests thats 1 in 4 odds. Nay. After much testing, that shit is NOT 1/4... more like 1/16, WEAK! & Thats just to get to the Super Roulette... Attempting to attain something hasnt been this frustrating for me in a while.
  23. Taskmaster First appearance: Avengers #195/ 1980
