Oh... happy belated Birth Day Bambi! I would have wished it in time... but I didn't know. Again... Happy Birth Day.
-
Indeed. Is it not unlike being in the car w/ someone, but neither of you are talking... because there is nothing to talk about.
-
Yes... I was playing Mercenaries on my friends profile... and it got sloooooooow when I had a bunch of Manjinas on the screen at once. Edit: And alot of screen tearing too.
-
Well you and I are no stranger to the different threads we have. Sh!t... my posts are 66% in the lounge. Perhaps for getting new members, I see the point. But how else could you get attention, other that changing the name of the site... whaich Id not do if it were up to me. I know you were just sayin'... but I was just putting my 2 cents in on that one.
-
Hey... who's this guy?
-
This is what I'm thinking. Emulation... in this case, has passed it's apex. Everything is out... and then some, and the DEMAND for the cool new programs arent like they used to. Any question is likely covered in our threads. All one needs to do is run google. Also, when we had more active members... there was more material to comment on or what have you. It's kinda hard for me to comment on more than 3-4 threads a day now. I don't remember the last time I saw my posts over 30 in a day. I see Gamefaq always has alot of activity, but that is like a staple. Who here does NOT go to game faq, so therefore, that site just plain has alot of hits. A numbers game. I'm sure this is all obvious.. and I don't have need to explain this all... but What would it take to flip it back. It would take people to actually be interested it threads... Which means more demand of posters... which depends on threads... a catch 22? Is that the right reference? So your saying all of this is common... That it's not just us...

What exactly do you mean??? Dead?

I've had that... didnt like it so much... it was the dill

Play mercenaries and get in some practice. Plaid a bunch just now. got up tp an average of 70 kills for that first stage.... how well must you play to kill all 150???
-
HAHAHAHA You know... I often wonder when I will see it all. At this rate... never.
-
Can you play the mercenary missions yet MF29? If so, play them... ALOT. Find the fun in it. Because surviving it alone is a test in itself. And the better you do, the better you will manage your ammo in the game itself. But... I cannot remember if you can playthem right off the bat, or if you need to beat the game first.

I got some wierd kind of cold/disease

Or perhaps Herporrhea? Clapilloma? I'll tell you what I think you should do. Stop drinking anything other than water or REAL fruit juice. In fact... only eat fruit for a few days. No meat or junkfood. You need to cleanse your system... I think you sh!t is all out of wack, and I believe you need to fill up on only good stuff. Fruit is a good way of purging the system of crap, whil giving it the stuff in needs. -
Unexplained things you have seen or heard of
Krosigrim replied to Krosigrim's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
It looked like the cammera guy was making movement unseen but the dog was following his motions. Then the dog backs up... after it clearly was scanning him a couple of times before it backpedaled. I would tend to think, perhaps he flashed something the dog might be frightened of. For instance, I have heard of dogs being fearful of a rolled up newspaper, if you smacked it enough while potty training it... You see what I am getting at? it's unexplainable when a hot straight chick leaves her man for a bull dyke and becomes a lesbian for a few years. then switches back and gets married to some random dude. I've seen it, and it boggles the mind. Well at first I was thinking... how is this unbelievable??? But immagining two fine females of course... How can anyone not like the curves of a lady... even other ladies... hah... But then Inky throws in some reality... and brings me down... Damn you. So yea, in inkys example, truly unnerving. -
That there might me the best stragety out of them all. heh... I often used a corral method. Say you have a group, then 1 or 2 stragglers. If you run around, trying to corral them, one will most certainly run out from the pack, so rather, I might shoot one in the leg, slowing them, "corraling them" for the eneviatable shot gun blast, that in a pack... is most adventagous. Sometimes your just unlucky... and shots don't kill well enough, wasting ammo of course. Then you try the same section again, and you kill eficiently... and have more ammo than when you started. Plus an incendiary grenade to boot... So sometimes it's a matter of... luck. It really just boils down to how well you handle any given situation with what you have. I remember being in that house with the spaniard. I remember having a time of it, not wasting my ammo. But if memory serves, they often drop grenades during that fight... I average 2-3. But then again they are hardly packed together. The only advice I can think of now, while considering all our tips... Is knowing when to use what weapon. Sure that sounds obvious... but still. That handgun I mentioned earlier, works extreemly well, and I fully recommend getting it. Or using it if you have it. as for RE5... Anyone here playing with the co-op?

Unexplained things you have seen or heard of

Very interesting story veristic, thanks. As for the clips, I do not believe in any of them. They all ring out BS to me. The dog in the first was following a cue of his master, and then he left, and came back to the attic... it was a set up. The others were just as hoaky. I am not trying to offend, it's just... I just wish someone would actually catch some REAL crazzy sh!t on film. That would be amazing. But everything I ever see has way too many holes in them... like most the UFO clips. -
Unexplained things you have seen or heard of

Hey... you too have smany interesting stories. Excellent. Remember when I mentioned the strange summer when plenty of weird sh!t happened? Well it was a chaotic time in my life. I was 11 or 12 and well... I experienced many things that were quite... unnerving. I never chalked it up to anything... as you never know. Although I have never seen spirits, or beings from some unseen world, but damned if I haven't sensed strange happenings just on the verge of my reckoning. The world is to our hope... as rational beings... set in stone. But there are too many things unknown. The reality of it, is there IS things just on the edge of our grasp. As rationals, we try to set rules and values to everything. As our minds grow, we are more and more accustomed to the world, as we see it. But the kids. They see the world through innocent eyes. They are not trapped to pre-conceived notions as we are. The mind is powerful. Really powerful. Just because one is young, doesn't mean their mind is any less extraordinary. Imagine a mind unbound by the burden of "our" reality... or at least what we can prove. Perhaps... perhaps a reason children can see things like this much more often than others, is because they do not pose a threat to those who are being seen? Perhaps their innocents is the gateway to their perception. I just remembered something. My Grandfather died when I was around 7. maybe 8. We went to the Flee Market on the weekend, as our family did every weekend, (this of course being just a short time after his passing) and it is quite busy, as it is only open Fri/Sat/Sun. To those who do not know... A Flee market, is a large, outdoor bazaar. One can find practically anything. Anyway, My cousin and I were at the end of the line... (we were walking through a connecting arm), and since there are alot of people, walking almost single file was practically necessary. My cousin and I were just behind the others, I believe there were a couple of people between me and the rest of my family. And of course, there were a ton of other people walking to and fro. Imagine a mall well beyond its capacity. Anyway, on the opposite side of the "arm" (opposing walking traffic) My cousin and I saw our Grandfather. He looked right at us, there was no doubt in our minds that it was him. Sure kids might believe anything... but we are not stupid. We KNEW it was him... we spoke to each other about it, and confirmed each others belief, but we never told our parents... we just knew no-one would believe us, and of course, the reference to him would have slapped a reminder in the faces of our parents. A reminder of the loss. On after thought, I could see the cliche talk, of wishful thinking, and you didn't really see him. Thing is... it is said, everyone has a twin. My grandfather was quite distinctive. Even his last name is rare. I can go on, but that point is moot. We knew it was him. And thats that. Now that is the only thing I can claim... to be anything like your stories Inky. Perhaps we were mistaken... but still. A longshot as far as coincidences go. -
Yea they have totally removed any puzzles. It is so far from RE roots. I like a shootemup as much as the next guy, but now your brain soly works tword maintaining the upperhand during a skirmish... Gone is the conceptual problem solving of old. Nothing to break the pace of the game. I miss puzzles. I'm sure there are some who can whip up some awesome new puzzle concepts. I remember some of my favorite from various games. Like Xmen on the SEGA. Appearently Mojo placed a bomb, and in order to dissarm it, you had to reset it. So You run around looking for the bomb. After a bit, you question yourself because you cant find it. You know you gotta reset it, and without doing so, you will die... but where the hell is it... Turns out you have to go up to you console, and press reset... when the game reload... the game continues on. Hitting the reset button on the sega, is how you reset the bomb... Whoever thought of that deserves an award. Something I notticed about puzzles now and days... they are usually too obvious. If only more games put some good time into making such a mechanic. Sure it's hard working around, and creating plot mechanics in a puzzle that intertwine with a games story... making it believable, but damn it... some of us need to get hung up on a puzzle. Ohhh the days of 7th guest... Space Quest even... Although Space Quest was more of... find certain things that go in or with something else on a very basic level... but whatever... unfortunately... the further RE games go, the more they came to that. As for RE4... Hmmm. No. No real puzzles that I can think of right now. Plaqs that fit into something as a key or somesuch... I cannot remember having to mull over... Oh... I remember one. behind the church, right before you find the Presidents daughter. It was fun, but short... there was another inside the church now that I am thinking abot it. Perhaps there are more I have forgotten. But other than the puzzle in the graveyard, I cannot think of one that was any kind of a challenge. It really is too bad. Has it gotten so convoluted... marketing as a whole, that they remove anything that really exercises our mind in such ways? Is it that the masses are too dumb and have too low an attention span to actually want to play such a game?
-
Oh sure!!! My pleasure. Dont hesitate to ask any questions if you have any... Oh. there is alittle quest in RE4 Perhaps you have started it. there are little blue plate thingies that you can shoot. When you get them all, you are rewarded with But if you have issues w/ aiming, take alittle time and practice the finess of the task... it took me FOREVER!!! But now Im pretty damn good. So... has anyone been fooling around with RE5's Co-op???

Unexplained things you have seen or heard of
Krosigrim replied to Krosigrim's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Well I do know there is an unseen world. A world where rules as we know it mean nothing. Hell look at subatomic physics, (sorry the proper label for this field of science eludes me) ... the smaller you look, more and more of the rules of physics fly out the window. Even scientifically speaking, there are too many possibilities and truths that we just cant understand. The mind is infinitely complex. There are cylicon chips now that operate many many times faster than scientists say out neurons can deal out. (assuming the scientists got their calculations correct) Granted our minds do not work in a binary fashon, the way out minds work, are supremely superior to any silly artificial methods. There is too much about the mind alone, that we will never uncover. I can go on and on, but my point is, we cannot truly understand the reality of things. It is based under our preceptions. Perhaps one can say certain things are judged erroneously, but honestly... I have seen some weird sh!t. And this thread had some pretty cool stories in it too, and I'm sure there are a whole lot more just from our members alone, save the entire race as a whole. There is some crazy sh!t out there. Things that I have seen that amaze me still and will do so forever. There are things we just cannot explain. Sometimes truths are withheld, but mostly, things are just plain beyond us. If we cannot explain what gravity really is, how can we possibly say ghosts and spirits don't exist. You might believe one way, but how can one truly know? Ya can't. You can theorize that the energy that is ones soul, has to go somewhere... but who are we to truly understand what it is that binds us to this world. As I see it, reality is kind of like a construct, laid out by a greater being. Who is to say I'm right or wrong. No one knows. And science will never tell us, as every day, we have to re-wright the rules of science, as old "truths" are revealed as false, i.e. light actually does have mass... which contradictory to what they taught me in school growing up. So perhaps "shadow" people could be the manifestation of something our mind created, or maybe it is actually a being we can only receive on the edge of "our" reality.... Maybe it's both!!! Of course, for that to make sense, that would mean that we are imiginary too. heh. Whatever the truth is for any given thing that may or maynot be... there are an infinite amount of unknown truths just around the corner... every second of every day... everywhere. This kind of thing fascinates me greatly. But then again, a great many things do. I thank everyone for their stories. Heh... on that note... I'd like to see more. I want to hear more stories. I don't care if you think your story sounds too crazy. Who the hell knows what truly happened in any given case... but I know there are more of you who do have tales, and I would have you share them, if you would. -
When enemies get close, you might try using the knife, aiming just up alittle, to make contact w/ the head. It catches them off balance from time to time, and then you run up and kick, taking alot of the Las Plagas to their feet for a quick escape from the current predicament. But even aiming up alittle, you sometimes gotta swing the knife 2-3 times, so it isnt a perfect strategy... but it IS effective none the less. As for the headshots. I'm not certain of the mechanic, but I believe it randomizes the crit ratio. Sometimes your lucky, and they go down with 1-2 shots. But further on into the game, they head flies off and... well... youll see. I'll just say, sometimes headshots don't lead to a perfect solution. I agree about the movement. It is clumsy. Even in 5, there is no quick backstep... But as far as ammo is concerned... Later in the game, it is quite plentiful. But it is set up so you are not a one man artillery range. This way you get a more vivid feeling of survival. Once you get a good feel for the mechanic, it is more like a battle of attrition. Picking and choosing the best way to route a group. Also, you will be able to get bigger attache cases... so do not fret. I claim, that if you keep playing, you will get the hang of it and have a good time. I have been known to shoot out a few kneecaps, and run past fallen enemies to reset my advantage in distance. Oh... Don't horde grenades too much, there are quite a few. If ever there is a mass of zombies, don't dismiss a well thrown grenade. It's sometimes better than wasting shotgun ammo

Unexplained things you have seen or heard of

Hey wow Inky... thats a pretty interesting story. Have you ever asked your little one about it at all? Does she even remember any of it... I know she was 3 and all. Did you let anyone else know about it? I've never experienced anything like the souliotte, but I often get the feeling of a presence nearby. Might just be my imagination, but ya never know. As for the story about the Teddy Ruxpin, It reminded me about my sister. She had a doll that dropped, I don't recall what we were doing, but I remember it's mouth opening and closing over and over, making a mechanical sound (of its moving little plastic gears ) and it didn't stop for a bit. It was creepy, and I went to pull it's batteries.... but there were none. Come to think on it... there was a TON of freaky things going on in my life at that time. That summer was filled with alot of strange events. Perhaps if I find the time and patience... I'll write about them, but they are nothing special... just weird instances. Get this inky... My friend just made mention of something in the corner of his eye... " a looming shadowy figure..." bigger than himself. And when he turned to it... nothing. Just now. Hmmmmmm. -
Well they certainly changed the game. As you say, they removed all the mechanics of previous RE games, and did indeed turn it into a straight action game. As for the teammate... when a pal takes over... the game is ON. Yea puzzles are gone. It's not even the same game anymore. Seemingly. But still, I like it. RE4 can be hard I guess, considering how much one might play. I played so often, I would get a ridiculous amount of head shot right after taking aim. You kinda get a feel for it after a bit of rinse and repeat playing. But the same is true for anything... I hear the hard difficulty is quite challenging, but in medium, if you often make headshots, the diff auto adjusts some, and the enemies begin to dodge more and more, evading the headshots... or at least trying to. But on the hard mode, it ramped all the way up. I wonder if this game has modes like those "mercenary" modes on 4...

About that A.I. It is poorer than I thought. Little things, like But also she does not act like a partner should sometimes. Often standing there not doing anything, or being non productive in general. Then shell have a good run of nice shots or decisions, but its inconsistent. Like I said... lacks alittle polish, but I can get over anything else. This A.I. though is my biggest gripe.
-
No one has made a thread... Why the hell not??? This game is great! Sure the A.I. for Sheva is alittle lame, but it works fine enough. Like my friend says, if the A.I. were too sophisticated, the game would be too easy. Besides, the possibility of multiplayer is GREAT! It could have used alittle more polish. Minor details here or there that would have made the game more... alive. I like the fact that you can grind a bit, for cash and inventory, herbs/ammo. Although never worrying about ammo removes the old stragety and the feeling of urgency. Removing the survival, from the horror. I don't mind the tearing, and the game itself looks like candy. Eye candy. I like it...

Quitting Masturbation (Elaboration Here)
