Back when vice City came out, I could immerse myself in that game for hours. I didn't care so much about the actual story (because the missions get so ridiculously hard), so I just drove around the city doing oddjobs and listening to that kickass soundtrack.

Yes, it us used to make custom button sequences that bind to a button you specify. Start the game and open the in-game menu. Customize your controls so assign a key to each custom button you are going to use. Then open the Custom Buttons menu and and then use 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the keyboard to creates button sequences. 1 for Button 1/A, 2 for button 2/B, etc.

Yeah, I play 2d shmups a lot. Star Goose is a classic. Also, Raiden III and Comiket shmups FTW.

You haven't set the correct savetype for the game you are trying to play, most likely.
