  1. I can't believe they actually used footage of an exploding van. WTF has that got to do with anything? ZOMG TERRISTS.
  2. I don't think you can cheat with nullDC. I also don't think that it's compatible with any of the cheat programs out there.
  3. MELTY BLOOD: Act Cadenza Version B. Oh yes, it's good.
  4. I discussed this briefly with K` on MSN yesterday. The American "mainstream" media never seem to amaze me. Educating the masses usually a good thing, but flock, it's all about the climate of fear nowadays. So yeah, GTFO, DIAF and EPIC LULZ.
  5. Use Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to mount them. If you are using nullDC (which you should), just use Normal Boot and boot the MDS.
  6. Yes, the rom needs to be zipped. You put the romset in whatever folder you want, then edit CPS3Emulator.ini and change the first line under [RomDirs] to point to whatever folder you put the romset in.
  7. I wish story.dat would contain the actual storyline for each game (no matter how bad) instead of some highscore tables. WTF is up with that?
  8. It might very well be that nullDC fails to emulate Shenmue properly, or the CD image is corrupt. Just because one has state-of-the-art hardware doesn't mean that everything should work without problems, especially emulators that are nowhere near perfect in what they do.
  9. Fixed it for you. I would buy a PS3 for these, but no matter how you look at it, the price is still way too high for me to even realistically consider buying one.
  10. That was breathtaking and intense. Wonderful.
  11. A faster procressor. There really isn't much else to it. Performance can fluctuate heavily depending on the game and the level you are playing.
  12. Sounds like the Dc_flash.bin file getting corrupt. Replace it and try gain.
  13. No you dont. Only the official MAME build is command-line only. There are virtually dozens of MAME builds with GUIs, the most popular being MAME32 and MAME32 Plus!. And yes, as someone pointed out earlier, the files you are missing are part of the Neo-Geo BIOS for MAME.
  14. No, it's "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, but when life gives you oranges, you make grape juice, just sit back and let the people wonder how you did it." What you want are called rom managers. However, these can potentially be confusing to use, so I won't be recommending those to you just yet. What they do is basically compare your romsets to a DAT file that contains information about known romsets (size, name, length, CRC, etc.) and based on the comparison, can tell you if your romset is corrupt, missing files, wrong sized files, etc. etc. DAT files exist for almost every emulated system and its roms. Does Nebula say what files are missing and what it is expecting?
  15. ROFL. Leave it to James to make new, young members feel welcome.
  16. I've heard that a good number of SmartJoys fail to work as intended. Why this happens, I can't say. Poor design, most likely. Personally, I'd steer clear of these adapters and use a good PC gamepad instead.
  17. It really can't get much easier from what I've already explained. You also haven't specified what emulator you are trying to use. Furthermore, if you cannot understand what the manuals are saying, then it just might be that emulation is too big of an undertaking for you at this point in time.
  18. What you need to know about any given emulator is usually explained in the accompanying Readme file or manual. Develoers do not write these documents just for filler, you know. As far as emulators are concerned, you can choose between MAME, Kawaks, Nebula or FBA. To make a brutally simple generalization: 1. You get an emulator, extract it to a folder of your choice 2. Put your romsets and the Neo-Geo BIOS in the roms folder 3. Start the emulator, click Load Game 4. Click Rescan roms/audit romsets (so that the emulator scans its roms folder for available games). 5. Double-click a game you want to load 6. Set your keys
  19. Yes well, comparing emulation performance and PC games performance is like comparing apples and oranges.
  20. You can't. Wi-Fi support is in preliminary stages and doesn't work.
  21. Nothing. Why aren't you reading what others have said? The current emulators only run a single game each, and they don't even do that perfectly.
  22. Speed is rarely attributed to your graphics card, as it does not do much of anything else than display graphics; your CPU does most of the work. All Radeon models should be "decent enough". That being said the faster your CPU is, the faster and smoother emulation will be. I have the same processor (AND Athlon 64 3000+) but I haven't played SO2, so I can't comment on how well it should run. Still, I've heard people with slightly slower computers having no such slowdown issues. in nullDC, tweaking the PVR plugin might help, or not. It's tricky since nullDC is already a tad slower than Chankast because the dynamic recompiler isn't as speedy as it is in Chankast.
