IIRC, vba-over.ini is only applicable to GBA games, but I'm not sure. Personally, I've never been too fond of GBC emulation in VBA, opting instead to use the likes of KiGB or No$Gmb (or Gambatte, but it doesn't do Super Gameboy). Never once had a problem with those emulators.

What version of VBA are you using, and did you use vba-over.ini with the settings for Pokemon Silver in it? Note that if the savetype was wrong to begin with, you can't use your original save you used before in the hopes that it will work again. You have to start from scratch with the correct savetype. EDIT: Just checked and Pokemon Silver is a GBC game. This thread deals with save issues in GBA games, and I'm not sure if the advice given here applies directly to GBC games. Still, what VBA version are you using?

Was that the boss where you fight two gargoyle-looking creatures on a bridge of some sort?

Heh, I'm still struggling with Chapter 1 on Mentor. God, what an unforgiving bitch of a game Sigma 2 is. Hopefully you can put up with Demon's Souls, because it's an incredibly rewarding feeling when you finally make progress after being stuck in a rut for so long. Those tentacle-headed wizards = game-breaker. Mostly.

Kind of the same deal in my case, although far earlier in the game. The game certainly doesn't hold your hand at any point, but rather beats you into submission in the crudest manner possible over and over again, until you slowly start to grasp at the concepts of what hopefully guarantee your survival... until you get your ass handed to you again, somewhere down the line. ... With far less souls and an ethereal body with half the HP. EDIT: Have you taken a gander at that one Japanese dude playing who makes the game his bitch in ~50 minutes? I suggest you don't if you like to find things out on your own or if you can't handle that soul-crushing realization of how much you suck at the game. Well ok, it does give you a number of good tips, but the guy boosts through the enemies and bosses with such speed that you probably won't have time to soak it all in.

This game's difficulty is through the roof. There's a lot to like if you invest the time and effort needed to learn the game properly.

Donnie Yen is god.

Yakuza Deka aka Yakuza Cop and the Assassin. A 1970 movie starring none other than Sonny Chiba.

I don't think Lilac cares anymore since hasn't been back since April.

BioShock 2. It really is quite awesome, dare I say even better than the first at times.

Yeah, embedded adverts are a pain, though no buffering issues in any content I've watched recently.

Now that I think about certain scenes in GoW, you are probably right. Still, I'd say that there was definitely a human side to Kratos that got lost when the Gods screwed him over. The scenes with support that. Historically speaking, I assume that the real Spartans were also quite vicious in their conquests and wars, all in the name of some ruler or deity, while simultaneously being very much warm family persons. Go figure. Some Spartans probably killed their wives too because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Now that you have finished it, let's talk about those plotholes

Finished GoW3. It was great, with a rather striking latter third and a slight cliffhanger-ish ending. Not sure if the ending counts as a cliffhanger, though. It probably doesn't.

Supposedly fake. Still, very PSPgo-like.

I've worn watches for the past 25 years of my life, but some two or so years ago I just simply stopped. The battery ran out, haven't bothered to get it replaced. Been using the my cellphone's clock ever since. For the record, I have a golden Omega which belonged to my late father.

I dont think he is referred to in any of the prior games. I just replayed GOW and GOW2, and GOW: CHain OF Olympus. SO, very positive he is not referred. Hmm... I still have this feeling that he was referenced in passing either in God of War or God of War II... I can't find anything to confirm this, even though it isn't that long since I finished both games. P.S. Rip Torn

No one has ever said that GoW accurately depicts Greek mythology. It's a video game. Joke? Hell no, just lots of creative liberty. Personally, I like the storyline, despite it being a good, old-fashioned revenge story. There's nothing wrong with doing things completely over-the-top and in a highly exaggerated and violent manner.
-
If u ignore the loopholes in the story, yeah, it is really great. I am replaying all GOW at the moment to prepare for GOW: Ghost of Sparta, going to be released this Nov 2nd. I'm not nearly far enough to have an opinion about any possible loopholes. Anyway, why does Hephaesteus sound so familiar? I found the dude at The Forge forging some stuff. I remember something about him being at least referenced in the prior games.

God of War III is fucking epic. Finally got my hands on the game.

Create a dedicated thread if you want to talk about New Vegas in detail.

Fallout: New Vegas, I think

Wasted an hour and a half's worth of gameplay in Darksiders, because I saved a game at the wrong place when I was supposed to load a game. :/

Challenge 10 is easy to me. Just need to block in time and press Square to clear the ring. Challenge 8 is the one that get me stuck with those Medusas making me their bitch Challenge 8 was a cake walk compared to 10. 8 boils down to dodging the Gorgon Stares (they can't stone you while you're rolling) and then using L1 + O in the air to clear the ring effectively. The problem in 8 was that, with poor timing, the Gorgons could stone you in the air while you were charging L1 + O. As for 10, no matter how much I'd [try] to block, the Satyrs would eventually push me off the platform. I took a leap of faith in reaching the final platform and managed to grab the ledge and pull myself up. Kosigrim: I had Fallout 3 at one point, and briefly enjoyed it. However, I just couldn't get past the abundant freedom of choice and the way every choice affects everything else. I know it sounds weird for me to criticize a game for being too open-ended, but I've always liked games that don't give me complete freedom.

From what I've read, the second demo doesn't exactly feature another chapter from the main game, but rather one of the Challenge arenas in the game. My memory fails me, but something like that anyway.
