    Cthulhu

Finally got Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for the PC. ... This game is so seriously messed up, that Silent Hill gets second place at certain moments. I think I need to make a review. Play this game. I command it. It will steal your soul.
  3. I started roughly 10 years ago. I didn't have an internet connection back then, so I found out through other channels that it was possible to emulate the NES console on your PC. So I got NESticle from my friend after I asked him to hunt it down for me. After that, I started thinking that since such a thing is possible, emulators probably exist for other consoles as well. I don't keen remember if I ever considered myself to be a newbie as far as general emulation in general, probably thanks to the fact that I like reading all kinds of emulation related material (from fiddling with the different options in the emulator to Readme's to manuals to technical docs, et al.) I think it's worth noting that I started lurking on different message boards on time time around late 2001, and did my first registration late 2003.
  4. It's really hard to give you accurate kanjis, since each word has at least 5 different meaning depending on the kanjis used. ken = fist (拳) rei = peak, summit (嶺), wise (嶺), garment, clothes (衣), rope (維), dark, black (黎), age (齢) do (dozens of variations) ten = sky, heavens (天) zan = mountain (山)
  5. I will be one of them and also I will get both the PS3 and the Wii, but wait for it... I will get the PS3 first and after that, the Wii. The games that Wii have to offer don't interest me that much, same goes with the gaming service (*I can hear Super Smash Bros. fans ready their flamethrowers*) No, I'm not a Playstation fanboy, I just made this choice long ago.
  6. Good review. Nice to see that Dreamcast games get some coverage as well. I haven't played this game though.
  7. If/when you can get an UT2004 server up and running, you will get my deepest thanks.
  8. I put an alternative download location for Corn. Not many people use it anymore, so it almost should be with UltraHLE.
  9. That's my line, thank you very much.
  10. Well look at that, it's the same guy/group that hacked EmuTalk yesterday.
  11. I know none of you in person, but many of you are my "friends".
  12. Haha, looks like everyone is defending their favorite emulator with teeth and claws.
  13. Finally got around updating the list for those who find this sticky even remotely useful.
  14. http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?act=boardrules Yes, plugins (or fixes or whatever you call them) go into the Plugins folder.
  15. Depends on the game. Experiment. Some DIPs do nothing.
  16. Chek out Pugsy's MAME cheat file, but don't hold your breath. Other cheat files might have entries for SvC, but I have no knowledge about those. An easier way would be to get the Universe BIOS (only MAME32 Plus! has support for this from the get-go IIRC) and use its built-in cheat database.
  17. If it's a laptop, you have an integrated graphics chip, which is nothing but trouble as far as emulation is concerned. Now, the only graphics plugin that might work for you is Jabo's Direct3D6 plugin. However, Resident Evil 2 is seriously bugged in Project 64 1.6, both in terms of video and audio. The only way to get it working better is to use Glide64 graphics plugin coupled with either Hactarux's or Zenkenzach's Glide wrapper for video, and Azimer Audio WIP2 (or so I hear) for audio. Even at that, this poses a problem for you since the Glide64 plugin needs a good and fast video card to work correctly (meaning that you won't get it to work properly with an integrated graphics chip). Final advice: Play the game on the PSX. The PSX version is much better emulated and it will take a good while until the developers get the N64 version running properly.
  18. No, you don't need a hack, since kawaks 1.56 support all released sets to my knowledge. You need an older version of Kawaks and Kawaks Loader if you want to the sets working you have now, but it takes more work and it isn't a guaranteeed success either. So yeah, get the "official" sets somewhere. Also, read the board rules.
  19. What files are inside the Neogeo.zip archive? Also, make sure that Neogeo.zip is in the roms folder. For the record, Kawaks uses MAME sets.
  20. Yes. Always use a CUE file (or any other disc information file depending on the CD image) when burning.
