  1. King of Fighters XI is not a Neo-Geo game. Samurai Shodown V Special was/is the last commercial Neo-Geo game released. KOF XI is for the Atomiswave arcade hardware and the PS2.
  2. Tracker error is not necessarily the BT client's or your connection's fault.
  3. Both. Perhaps more head-to-head though.
  4. I heard about this earlier today. Steve RIP. But yeah, it is somehow ironic that a stingray ended up killing him.
  5. This one console-nut friend of mine. We destroy 1-on-1 fighting games the most.
  6. My graphics card came with my computer so most modern graphics cards support shading 2.0! My graphics card is Radeon X300 with only 64 MB of RAM and it runs PCSX2 and KoF XI just fine on it! Well it looks like I'm SOL. I have a laptop and can't replace the graphics card, something I didn't realize until someone at a store told me so. So I guess I can't play KOFXI on my pc at all No, you can't. laptops aren't really made for emulation (or any integrated graphics chip for that matter). Unfortunate but true, and holds true every single time when an emulation-realated question involving said chips pops up.
  7. Opinions opinions. Some people want rigid simplicity, so they use NeoRAGEx. Sure, the way it does emulation is very unorthodox but it runs games nonetheless; many n00bs don't care about accuracy. That's why they start to biatch the moment they try an emulator that requires a bit more that just clicking on a game to get the game running. Perhaps when ElSemi releases the new version of Nebula with all the sets supported, we can put these DAT questions to rest. Gary: Heh, ok. It works like that too.
  8. I really don't give a rat's ass, since it's not licensed in the EU. But since things work in US schedule over here, I suggest that you don't post torrents or sites that let you download licensed fansubs/manga. So there.
  9. God yes it is. God very yes. Although the first isn't that bad either. ZOE2 just has more meat around its bones. Boss battles are still flocking awesome. But yeah, anything from Nippon Ichi is welcome (Disgaea, Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, La Pucelle and Phantom Brave, although PB is hard).
  10. I don't know what exactly do you consider "big name" games, so I'll just throw some of my favorites here. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne/Lucifer's Call Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1/2 (both actually, since you need to play both to get through the entire story. Dark Chronicle Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome (Phantom Kingdom in the US, IIRC.) Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King We Love Katamari La Pucelle: Tactics Fatal Frame Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Fatal Frame III: The Tormented Shadow Hearts Shadow Hearts: Covenant (Shadow Hearts II) Shadow Hearts: From the New World Wild Arms 3/4 Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny Any Tales game you can get your hands on.
  11. NeoRAGEx doesn't use DATs, it just simply scans the romset for "compatible files" and tries to run the set. Nebula and Kawaks need exact information about every file in the romset, hence why they need DAT entries to run romsets. Every file in that set is crucial, and it's a decrypted set. It will work in NeoRAGEx for this very reason (provided that the P1 rom is NRX compatible, so to speak). If you want to make a DAT, use the one below and modify it so that it matches your romset contents. System: NEO RomName: Samurai Shodown 5 Special Game: Samurai Shodown V SPECIAL [Program] ssvs_p1.rom,0,800000,EF5CD275,0 [Text] ssvs_s1.rom,0,20000,6F2601EB,0 [Z80] ssvs-m1.rom,0,20000,B5ABDA07,0 [Samples] ssvs_v1.rom,0,400000,32156CFE,0 ssvs_v2.rom,400000,400000,E46D2F8,0 ssvs_v3.rom,800000,400000,9AA45090,0 ssvs_v4.rom,C00000,400000,AD8FABB4,0 [Graphics] ssvs_c1.rom,0,800000,8548097E,0 ssvs_c2.rom,1,800000,8C1B48D0,0 ssvs_c3.rom,1000000,800000,96DDB28C,0 ssvs_c4.rom,1000001,800000,99EF7A0A,0 ssvs_c5.rom,2000000,800000,772E8B1E,0 ssvs_c6.rom,2000001,800000,5FFF21FC,0 ssvs_c7.rom,3000000,800000,9AC56A0E,0 ssvs_c8.rom,3000001,800000,CFDE7AFF,0 [System] CartridgeID: 272 GfxCrypt: 0 GfxKey: 0 ButLayout: 9 Fix: 0 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Of course, if you want to try the game in Nebula, you'll need a Loader. Paste the DAT to your NEOGEO.DAT and start editing.
  12. Now if the developer would fix the major slowdown issues with HQxx and some other filters.
  13. Either NeoRAGEx or Nebula/Kawaks with a custom DAT file (i.e. make your own).
  14. As much as I hate the X360 in terms of games and content, the controller is fabulous. You need to download some special drivers if you want to use it on a PC though, and I don't really have first-hand knowledge on how to set it up for the PC. I got myself a Logitech RumblePad 2 which is awesome; PS2 controller design, rumble. What more could you possible want (besides analog buttons maybe)?
  15. Famicom Disk System has it's own set. You can find a couple of revisions (1.01 and 1.02) of Metroid in the FDS set.
  16. Pixel Shader support is determined with DirectX implementation the card uses. Cards that use 9.0 use PS2.0 (ATI Radeon 9500+, X1xxx+ lines support PS3.0 [DirectX9.0c] --- NVIDIA GeForce 5xxx+, 6xxx+ line supports PS3.0 [DirectX 9.0c])
  17. You might have posted an answer to this earlier, but what graphics card are you using? You need a card that supports Pixel Shader 2.0 specs.
  18. The CD image is compressed and split into multiple archives. Get WinRAR and open the first archive with it. Extract the contents (the actual CD image I assume) to a folder and subsequent volumes (the other split archives) will follow suit automatically. It would help if you'd tell me what file(s) the first part contains exactly.
  19. Either Zip or RAR the entire image or leave it uncompressed. Most PCSX2 CD/DVD plugins work with both. Preferably in a known CD/DVD image format or the the ELF. Expect that your machine can't give you "reasonable" framerates, depending on what your definition of reasonable is. I don't use PCSX2 so I'm not the one to ask for detailed instructions. The rough outline is: 1. Mke sure you have a graphics plugin for PCSX2. Configure the GPU plugin if need be. 2. Same with the Audio, Controller plugins, etc. 3. Make sure you have a valid PS2 BIOS that's in the Bios folder. Make sure you select the BIOS when you go through the configuration window. 4. Configure the CD/DVD plugin to work with the image you have. 5. Run the emulator, hope for the best.
