Get WinRAR and extract the split archive with that. The .SFV (Simple File Verification) file is only used if you want to verify that the archives have no been tampered with nor corrupted in some other way. It's in no way a crucial file. Google for an SFV Checker if you want to use it.
I don't think DS emulation is in a really playable state, but I could be wrong. I do know there are translated versions of the original FF3 roms out there though. Many 2D only games work very well.
I suggest you read up on Nontedo DS' features from Wikipedia or from somewhere else and familiarize yourself with the massive homebrewn scene the DS has going on. Hell, we even have dedicated sections here on 1Emulation.

I've been keeing my eyes on this for a while and it looks damn promising now that many have completely given up on Chankast releases. Yes, compatibility deserves more attention than speed. More games will work thanks to this approach.
