How would I convert an .img file to .cdi?
Agozer replied to garyoak99's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
I think mine is the OEM version of Nero 6. -
Most (if not all, AFAIK) Intel chips still do not properly support T&L in hardware. From what I've gathered, that lack of support is the prime reason these chips fail hard with Dreamcast emulators. Like Cinder already pointed out, comparing performance and available features of a chip when used for PC gaming versus emulation is like comparing apples and oranges. Having said that, since the problem stems from your video hardware, no game will look any better.

I must say, Google's German to English translator does its job rather well.

I have never had even a single fag. I don't know if that's something to be proud or slightly ashamed considering the peer pressure going on.

Killzone. Far better than Black, and far better than I thought it would be.

NGemu sold and resold ... going downhill?
Agozer replied to Robert's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
NGEmu has been in a nosedive for quite some time, yeah. -
If you are using an older version of VisualBoy Advance, ditch it and use VBA-M. Now, if you can't save, make sure that the folder VBA saves to isn't read-only. If the folder is read-only, then it's obvious that no save file is created when you try to save.

No gravedigging for reasons that don't contribute something phenomenal to the thread.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter The way this game is supposed to be played and how the story unfolds is unique to say the least.

Not really. It boils down to a matter of preference. The PSX version has a bunch of extras. Otherwise, it's identical to the Neo-Geo version, sans some loading times maybe.

Trying to play Chi no Rondo on Ootake
Agozer replied to zach11's topic in Other Emulators [/pc/other]
Well, with Daemon Tools, it's as simple as installing the program (creates an extra CD/DVD drive in Windows - hence "virtual"), and after installing, start DT (if not already running), click on the tray icon, and click on Device [X:] --> Mount Image. Unmounting goes the same way. Then again, everything I've told you can be found in the DT manual. Mount the CUE file, otherwise you won't get background music if you just mount the image file directly (because, it just mounts the image and not any additional tracks or sessions). If you get an error along the lines that something is wrong with the CUE file, then DT can't find the image file that the CUE is describing. If this happens, edit the CUE file by hand so that the first line (the one that deals with the disc image file itself) points directly to the file, with no paths or anything of that sort. If the CUE file doesn't describe the WAV audio tracks at all, then you have a problem, because you'd have to type them in into the CUE file by hand. There are other virtual drive software besides DT, so can try those as well. Alcohol 120% comes to mind. P.S. What is the other ISO file out of the two? Or is Dracula X a 2-disc game? -

You are trying to boot a CD-ROM game, not a HU-CARD (cart; ROM image - zipped or otherwise) game. Your can't even begin to boot CD-ROM games unless you have the System Card BIOS (often syscard.pce) and the disc in the CD drive. Now, Ootake doesn't support direct disc image loading (should be fairly obvious from the first message that appears when you start the emulator), so you need to mount the disc image first to a virtual drive. Take note that most PC Engine emulators emulate CD and the carts. Carts and the BIOS file(s) (dumped into romsets) are the only things that have the recognized PCE (or some other) file extension. No CD game has romsets (unless there were both cart and CD version released), because all the game data is on a CD already. -
360 controller for use with mame.
Agozer replied to fumanchu's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
hey you got to start some where right? plus no one seemed to answer til 5 months later! haha Yes, you start with either your own thread or with a post in a current and alive topic - not by posting some ancient topic that hasn't seen any new replies in 5 years. Unless, of course you contribute something that adds considerable value to the ancient thread. You didn't. -
IIRC, delete the base MAME ini file.
-
Get rid of the clones and bootlegs (except for a few special purpose clones). Unless you're a collector and a completionist, roughly 2/3rds of that 18GB is useless to you.
-
You might want to update that MAME Plus of yours, seeing how the current version is 0.129u2 No, I haven't experienced such problems with MAME Plus.

Best Emulators for a Home Built Arcade Machine
Agozer replied to DIYROMArcade's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
Well, if you want consoles: Genesis/MegaCD/GG/32x: Kega Fusion, no contest. IMO anyway. SNES: ZSNES, Snes9x, or bsnes (ZSNES has quite a few issues but plays most games just fine. - Star Ocean being one exception, and all SA-1 games the rest; don't bother using bsnes for special chip game, use Snes9x instead). NES: Nestopia, no contest. IMO again, but some people prefer FCE Ultra Saturn: SSF (but requires a really fast system to run smooth) Dreamcast: nullDC or Demul (you get arcade NAOMi in the same package - requirements depend on the game, but a fairly fast system is needed). GBA: VBA-M, no contenst. Gameboy: kiGB NDS: No$Gba or iDeaS. Latest No$gba preferred (2.6a) Wonderswan: Oswan Neo-Geo Pocket: NeoPop (old as hell, but the only one good enough) GP32: GeePee32 -

Akumajou Dracula X is a CD game, you already have the disc image. What do you need a romset for? -

Yes, all PC-Engine CD games require the System Card BIOS (v1.00-3.01 depending on the game, AFAIK) -

CPS1: See below, or Callus (No joke) CPS2: FBA Shuffle or MAME CPS3: CPS3Emulator or MAME Neo-Geo: FBA Shuffle, Kawaks or MAME Model2: M2Emulator (ther isn't much of a choice unless your base system is a beast and can handle MAME doing 3D like eating popcorn) All PSX-based games: ZiNc All the rest: MAME (or Raine) Substitute FBA Shuffle with FBA if you feel like it. Substitute MAME with Raine if you feel like it (although Raine emulates fewer games). Also take note that newer MAME builds have higher system requirements. -
How would I convert an .img file to .cdi?
Agozer replied to garyoak99's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
I don't know what settings you use, but my Nero lets me just make the disc image file from the source drive by using its "Image Recorder" drive as the destination. Not forced burning after the creation of the disc image is complete. ---> One .NRG Nero image ready for use. -

Always read the accompanied documentation first, then ask questions. -
How would I convert an .img file to .cdi?
Agozer replied to garyoak99's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
No, that would be the .bin conversion. There is the Universal Converter option but when I select the .img file with that option; it just says "Selected file is not a valid ISO." What do I do now? Well, as a last resort, you could mount the IMG (or the CUE, if the game has additional tracks/data that needs to be specified) to a virtual drive and rip the game into an NRG image through that. Unless that is, you want to hunt down another converter and cross your fingers. -
Wild ARMs 4. Slow progress.

Newb here need help with Sega cd emu
Agozer replied to zach11's topic in Genesis & Mega CD Emulators [/pc/gens+megacd]
If you haven't changed the filenames of the BIOS files, the PAL BIOS filename starts with "eu". If the game boot properly and you see stuff prior to the title screen, I don't think the BIOS is at fault there. I could be wrong though.
