Because the not-so-complex plot of a *standard* video game does not translate into a good movie script and the hired actors have close to zero talent...and in most cases, writers tend to throw in some kind or morals or teachings thst look good on paper, but kills the movie. And btw, Mortal Kombat movies rock.
