So what you are really looking for is a GBA emulator for the Nintendo DS. ... Let me put it this way: What you ask is extremely stupid because of a few reasons. 1) The Nintendo DS natively supports GBA games. An emulator servers no purpose on a piece of hardware like this. 2) Flash carts like the EZFlash are specifically designed for the user to be able to play NDS and GBA roms on their Nintendo DS. 3) Saying "I don't want to buy anything" is about as ignorant as it gets, considering that you've you've been given an option that's superior to any emulator.

Last time I checked, Fatal wasn't part of the advanced board software. And yes, the hat does make me, uh, more approachable in some situations, but it does not reflect my "true" demeanor in the slightest. Except on that one day when I supposedly graduated from high school.

Hm. I am a man of mystery. I am a man of honor. I am... a doctor! Doctor of emulation. Of sorts. Since 1997. I probably have no life either, although I'm trying my darnest to prove otherwise on a daily basis. My life story... is rather uneventful actually, with occasional moments of divine comedy, sarcasm and irony. Plus, like some of you might know, Gryph and myself do not really exist in physical form.

Midway sold for nothing and SE looking into Edios
Agozer replied to Wizard's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Anniversary (or the original whichever you prefer) are awesome. The rest of the series took a huge dive, although the second Tomb raider is still good. As for Midway, their only achievements in my book are Mortal Kombat II, UMK3, and NBA Jam, as well as few good console titles they published but did not develop. -
Midway sold for nothing and SE looking into Edios
Agozer replied to Wizard's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
It's sad to see these development studios that were once at the top of their game, come crashing down like this. A large part of the current situation is their own doing, I'm sure, but this whole thing just feels their management isn't the only thing to blame... who knows. And you're right about Eidos too; Eidos has tons of games in thier publisher resume and good for them. The problem is really don't have anything else going for them but Lara Croft, Hitman, and Thief and Kain. Sure, there are some good releases outside of these series (Project Snowblind, Total Overdose, Deus Ex, etc.) but for the most part, a lot of what they've been releasing is mediocre at best, including the console --> PC ports. -
While I agree BitTorrent clients have hardly anything to do with emulation, I don't see a problem with posting BT news.

No VMU found in slot 1
Agozer replied to kevc's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
GBs, as in gigabytes? That would be utterly ridiculous. A VMU file has to total capacity of 128kB (as in kilobytes) on your computer's hard drive. Each game save you make occupies a specific amount of blocks on the VMU. The actual Dreamcast only sees and cares about blocks similar to the PSX, it does not care about actual computed filesize of the emulated VMU. Also, I doubt you have 80GB of memory, more like 80GB of hard drive space. -
nullDC (New DreamCast Emulator) v1.0.0 Released!
Agozer replied to Alpha's topic in Emulator Releases [/emu]
Plus useless quoting. -
Soul Calibur III. Haven't touched it in a while.

I fell off my chair when I read this. The best part being that something like that will happen.

There's messed up and then there's messed up. On the Internet, once again - is where the weirdest requests and fantasies come to fruition.
-
AFAIK, emulators like nullDC for example, can swap disc images on the fly just fine. I don't think the format of the image matters as long as they are recognized by the emulator. Having said that, I still prefer "normal" disc image formats over GDI, for fairly obvious reasons.

IF you've searched the forums, you'd know that you have to set the savetype in the emulator setting to match what the game expects. In short, if the savetype is wrong, the game won't save.

I just got Rogue Galaxy fairly cheap. Let's see... I found the original release of ICO some time ago, as well as the original release of Silent Hill 2. Got Magna Carta: Tears of Blood the day it came out - it's fairly rare nowadays. Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire are also quite hard to find, plus one of Treasure's first PS2 releases, Freak Out/Stretch Panic. Haunting Ground, a lesser-known (but great) Capcom survival horror game. Grandia II is currently the rarest in my collection, no contest. Also considering that my PS2 library consists of nearly 100 games in their original packaging (no Platinum releases) some games have been definitely harder to find than others. My current plan is to get both Ar Tonelico and Wild ARMs 5, both which are the rarest PAL releases ever. The thing about PAL releases is that you need to get certain games the moment they come out or you risk of never seeing them again, as many more obscure PAL releases only see limited copies and only a handful of games ever make it to Platinum status (the only console RPG series to do this consistently is Final Fantasy for obvious reasons, although I've heard that Dragon Quest VIII also made the cut).

Can't load game after quitting, need help (FF8)
Agozer replied to Matsuda's topic in PS1 Emulators [/pc/ps1]
Need your computer specs. About the save problem, make sure that the memory card files are not read-only. Also, I've noticed with ePSXe 1.7 that when you save a game, it doesn't necessarily show up in the Memory Card Browser at all (the game is still saved properly), or shows that a save takes up an incorrect number of blocks. Don't know why this is though. -
Neo-Geo emulation has more or less reached the point of perfection. Of course, rarely will an emulator beat the real thing, but seeing how pricey the actual Neo-Geo and its games can be, you'll be donating all your internal organs to get enough money to buy the console and the games that really matter. Not to mention that some games are very rare, and those cost even more.

Small question about Samurai Shodown V Special
Agozer replied to Tenshu's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
If my memory server me correct the S1 original is the original S1 from the "official set" with plain health bars, while the S1 in the other zip gives you stylished health bars a la samurai Shodown 5. Of course, the rest of the files in the fix zip file make the game playable under NeoRAGEx and IIRC, gives you fatalities. -
nullDC v1.0.3 (how do i save?)
Agozer replied to pm3's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Have you formatted the VMU in the Dreamcast BIOS menu? -
There aren't any extra plugins (aside from those ported over from Chankast) that you should be using. There simply aren't any additional plugin aside from those that are already included with nullDC. IIRC, MvC2 i particular is known for having those visible "garbage lines"... Sounds like your CvS2 isn't self-boot. In regards to SSF, it is slow because all rendering is done in software, despite some hints that Direct3D is still being used. Needless to say, with a tin of CPUs that have to be in sync (2 main, 2 graphics processors, 1 for geometry etc. etc.) , you'll see a performance hit with 3D games - you'll need a decent dual core system if are planning on seeing constant framerates across the board.

Check my site - who knows, you might find what you need (since we're talking about NeoRaGEx here). -
nullDC v1.0.3 (how do i save?)
Agozer replied to pm3's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Make sure you have set VMUs active in Options --> select Plugins. Then simply save in-game like you normally would. -
Wrong forum, moving. If I were you, I'd check my graphics drivers first. Intel's graphics chips aren't really meant for gaming.

How to replace the music in PC GUILTY GEAR XX #REL
Agozer replied to Wizard's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
Yes, Guilty Gear XX and it's variants are fighting games. Guilty Gear XX, GGXX #Reload and Guilty Gear Isuka are for PC and PS2 respectively (I don't know if there are ports for other consoles). They should be all in English, although I'm not sure about the PS2 version of Isuka. Probably it is. Guild Guear XX Slash, GGXX Accent Core and GGXX Accent Core Plus have arcade and PS2 versions although I think that the PS2 versions are japanese only. -
Question about Naomi and it's roms
Agozer replied to HadoukenX's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
Naomi is the arcade equivalent of the Dreamcast. For naomi, you need the Naomi BIOS files, a Naomi disc image for a game and a romset for the game you are trying to play.
